Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] slimserver keep dieing (Debian)
Hmmm, I'm not a Perl expert but 2007-12-09 21:05:10.8011 ERROR: DBI Connection failed: DBI connect('hostname=127.0.0.1;port=9092;database=slimserver:mysql_socket=/var/cache/slimserver/slimserver-mysq l.sock','slimserver',...) failed: Can't connect to MySQL server on '127.0.0.1' (111) at /usr/share/perl5/DBIx/Class/Storage/DBI.pm line 839 and frame 0: Slim::Schema::Storage::throw_exception (/usr/share/perl5/DBIx/Class/Storage/DBI.pm line 856) frame 1: DBIx::Class::Storage::DBI::_connect (/usr/share/perl5/DBIx/Class/Storage/DBI.pm line 769) frame 2: DBIx::Class::Storage::DBI::_populate_dbh (/usr/share/perl5/DBIx/Class/Storage/DBI.pm line 733) frame 3: DBIx::Class::Storage::DBI::ensure_connected (/usr/share/perl5/Slim/Schema/Storage.pm line 28) this suggests to me that possibly your perl DBI 'module' is incompatible with the mysql provided by slimserver I'm not sure if you were already running an instance of mysql on that server. Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] Error: Can't open file: 'genre_track.MYI'
A friend tracked this problem to a corrupt genre_track.MYI, which as fixed by running: myisamchk -e -r genre_track.MYI Thanks for the other advice though, it helped narrow down the search. -- paulclo paulclo's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=14323 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=40902 ___ unix mailing list unix@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/unix
[SlimDevices: Unix] How do I install MusicIP on linux?
Yes.. I admitI'm a Linux-newbie and after googling around I still can't find a solution :-( I do have knowledge about PC's but no experience with linux. My situation: I've installed Slimserver on Diskstation: http://oinkzwurgl.org/ssods3 I've installed the Squeezecenter 7 software. Now I want to install MusicIP too, but I don't have any idea how. I checked: http://www.musicip.com/mixer/linuxstart.jsp but that didn't help either. So I have a local file called MusicMixer_x86_1.8.tgz what's the next step? What's the installationprocedure?? I hope some Lynux-hero can give a newbie some help ;-) -- evroekel evroekel's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=14387 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=41011 ___ unix mailing list unix@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/unix
Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] Squeezebox won't play
Probably resetting to defaults didn't help, reprogramming Xilinx did. I've only had to do it once or twice but I find that reprogramming Xilinx helps when there's a severe audio problem like that. -- Mark Lanctot Mark Lanctot's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=2071 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=40098 ___ unix mailing list unix@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/unix
Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] EAC rip directly to server
I have EAC installed on my Ubuntu Gutsy laptop, and it works so perfectly under wine, it looks like a native Linux application. It is not very fast however. I also have dBpoweramp installed, and it is much faster when doing a secure rip. Despite being faster dBpoweramp does not run as cleanly under wine as EAC. It has problems ejecting CDs, (although upgrading wine to version 0.9.50 seems to help,) and it has a problem being minimized on my machine. Turning off desktop window management in wine specifically for dBpoweramp helps with that. -Ron -- Ron F. *Squeezebox setup:* wireless SB3 - CI Audio VDA.2 DAC + VAC.1 PSU *Main rig:* NAD 7600 + NAD 2600A - Phase Tech PC-6.5 speakers *Headphone rig:* Headroom Max - Sennheiser 650s *Music Server:* Nano-ITX computer running SlimCD + 750 GByte HDD - Netgear wireless router *Other stuff:* NAD C542 CDP, NAD 6300 Tape, Monster 5100 Power conditioner, Outlaw Audio cables Ron F.'s Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=5616 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=40283 ___ unix mailing list unix@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/unix

Am I right in thinking the Diskstation has a PPC processor? I think they're now using ARM based CPUs. ___ unix mailing list unix@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/unix
