Hi DID you eventually tested the Audio Optimized version of piCorePlayer? Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] Announce piCorePlayer 3.20
Hello I change the network confit on my pi 2 from wifi to Ethernet and hifiberry Amp. I had to reinstall completely the software Now, I don't have any clear sound anymore, some times 1-2s and then nothing anymore. I check speed network test with iperf3 and it's almost perfect I don't understand what's the problem The diagnostic shows that squeeze lite is running with the following ( I tried to change the buffer, but I. Don't understand this well) /usr/local/bin/squeezelite -n Sauna -o hw:CARD=sndrpihifiberry -a 400 8 0 Any help will be appreciated Thank you Thomas tparvais's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=59976 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=107352 ___ unix mailing list unix@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/unix

No, I just tried the stadard version, since the Audio Optimized one was not suggested for USB DAC This version contain all the same improvements as the above normal version. But in addition we have added all the audio related patches that Clive (aka JackOfAll) made for the raspberry kernel. So here we have support for more i2s-DACs and we support higher sample rates etc. **Please note: This version is only recommended for I2S soundcards and hardwired network. The optimizations for audio has been known to interfere with wifi, and for sure will make USB soundcards unstable. steff's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=66870 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=107463 ___ unix mailing list unix@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/unix

Have you tried both piCorePlayer versions, both the audio specific version with all the different tweaks we apply during building of the kernel as well as the more conservative build (normal) build? piCorePlayer a small player for the Raspberry Pi in RAM. Moreover, I tested several FLAC, from 44 to 384 kHz and... what make the difference is the bitrate and not just the sampling rate. Ler me explain: I have 384 kHz with 6 kbps VBR and with 11 kbps VBR... @ 6 kbps it is noisy but much more less noisy than @ 11 kbps For the CPU... let me say that it is not an issue: here my results: Running Raspbian + pure MPD, the results are always PERFECT, absolutely but the CPU usage rise 30% in some cases. Running Volumio (that is based on MPD) with no graphic interface it is perfect as above Adding the graphic interface to Volumio... it is TERRIBLE and the CPU goes very very high With piCorePlayer + Jivelite I experience noise, as told in this post, but the CPU is extremely LOW LOW LOW... never higher than 10% and the most consuming process is CIFSD responsible for mounting the SAMBA from the network. Why Rpi3 + Raspbian + MPD is always perfect even with a much more high CPU usage? Are there any tools or commands to check... let me say... interrupts, buffers and so on real time? steff's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=66870 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=107463 ___ unix mailing list unix@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/unix
Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] Jivelite for piCorePlayer
I know there is a 'Now Playing' button on the top right (I'm using PCP + Jivelite with the official 7" screen) but I'm using JustBoom DAC cards and so I bought the JustBoom Smart Remote. This works superbly; however it doesn;t seem to allow navigation to the NBow Playing button, so if it Just press the Home button twice to get to NP. Wouldn't that work? -- Michael ___ unix mailing list unix@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/unix
