No way to revert to to 7.9.0. There is really no reason to go back.

The EDIMAX EW-7811UTC (AC600) arrived a few minutes ago, after
struggling with the child / tamper proof packaging I unplugged my test
pCP (RPi 2b, Kali Reclocker, ES9023 DAC pCP 7" screen 3.22 Audio) and
swapped the Ratlink Wi-Pi for the Edimax and plugged it back in. The
startup messages on the screen showed it connected to WiFi and a check
of the router's client list showed the player on the 5GHz band.

Thank you for the advice.

I did pick the highest before whole card, thought it said 100MB, but
yes, 1G it is:

I think you are missing something, the increment starts at 100 Mb up to
1000 Mb then jumps to whole card.

Is there an option somewhere within pCP to expand egain? (didn't see it)

Yes, but if you used a raw card program, you would only have to backup
the portion of the card that has data. Reading/Writing all 8 gb of data
takes along time.

LMS is under 50MB installed, it's the cache that takes up bunches of
space if you have a big library. You can always expand again if you
need.

yeah, I thought that could be a benefit, but on my Mac, I backed up with
dd in Terminal and the image was 8G.
.but I didn't use any conv options, or gzip.

In pCP the size options given to expand the file system seemed in small
increments, caping out at 100M (iirc), then jumping to all availlable
space. When I installed 3.21, I don't recall any options, just all
avail space (but it's been awhile, might have missed the options)

I'm assuming that 100MB is sufficient for LMS? (with the cache on a USB)

Well if one uses win32-image-writer or usb image tool to backup the
card, one will get a full size image regardless of the partition size.
So a 4gb card will give a 4gb image.

I know it is possible to shrink the image before backup, but I have
looked at a couple of guides and decided to forgo the
headache.:(:o:rolleyes:

Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] questions for a most basic portable squeezebox using PiCorePlayer and Pi Zero W

2017-09-27 Thread c3p0

Excellant, working nicely, sound quality top notch, should make a nice
compact package as a portable player.

Pizerow, phatdac, esp8266 as wifi hub, USB drive and battery, I think I
should be able to squeeze these into a small case with access for micro
USB power to charge battery and a headphone socket.

I might need to incorporate a switch to switch on and off esp8266 and
another for pizero.

This would allow me to connect to internal network via esp8266 or via
pizero.

For remote use switch esp8266 on, control of tunes via smart phone.

Changing mobile network at moment so haven't been able to get mobile hub
working yet.

Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] questions for a most basic portable squeezebox using PiCorePlayer and Pi Zero W

2017-09-27 Thread c3p0

Hi,
I can now confirm that this successfully works with pizero with lms
running non-audiophile version 3.2 with phat at full dac benefits
running flac.

Other benefit is mobile phone can both act as remote control viewer when
it's wifi is set to the esp8266 hub as well as ability to listen via
phone ( ok MP3 quality).

Using a wifi dongle and USB 16gb stick for music repository with USB
extender.

Next two experiments will involve running it on pizero w and trying an
old mobile sim hub (without sim).

Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] picoreplayer 3.11 +waveshare 3.5 TFT + jivelite + Raspberry Pi 2B+

2017-09-27 Thread efthk23

Hi guys... I have a 4 inch waveshare touchscreen and a rpi3 showing
image after a lot of years trying and that thanks to pughx2.com . I have
one question and one problem though. The problem is that when I have the
picoretft3 image burnt into my rpi and try to install LMS it asks for a
resize in order to continue. I click yes, the rpi reboots and
then..chaos. The web gui doesn't come up and there is no
image on the touchscreen. Can you install LMS successfully with the
ready image provided in the site? The question is if it is normal for
the touchscreen's transitions to be laggy and not as smooth as the
official 7inch. Thx in advance!
