Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] Announce piCorePlayer 3.20
I tried to test a PiZero 1.3 (non-wireless) with an ENC28j60 LAN module, but I can't get it to work with PiCorePlayer 3.22. It works nicely with Raspbian. The enc28j60.dtbo file exists in the overlays folder, and I added the line dtoverlay=enc28j60 to config.txt. For a normal Raspbian setup, that is sufficient. Any advice on how to make it work in PiCorePlayer? Do I need to add a .tcz file or add a modprobe setting? I'm not aware of an issue with alsa equal. We have had some issues with the insitu upgrade messing this up, which removing the equalizer, then reinstalling fixes. What is the output setting on the squeezelite page? it should be "equal" Also look at the Diagnostics | Sound page. What is the contents of "PLAYBACK Hardware Devices" and "Current /etc/asound.conf" paul-'s Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=58858 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=107352 ___ unix mailing list unix@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/unix

The ShairTunes2 Fork 0.81.1 works perfectly for AirPlay to all of my squeezelight players with HifiBerry AMP+ Can you tell me why the Alsa 10 band Equalizer cant be turned on while using the HifiBerry AMP+? Squezzelight woul not start as soon I turn on the Equalizer on. Is there a way to have the Equalizer working with HifiBerry AMP+ on the 3.22 If IRC it was working on the 2.05 version?! Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] bug in gerrelts squeezelite.sh
I'm not bothered by it, I was merely trying to avoid confusion about the pCP startup process. And how the MAC address is delivered to the LMS server. Your system must take over 20 seconds to get a valid Mac address. The mac address used by the LMS server does not come from any switching equip or the packet headers. Squeezelite detects hardware address (unless overridden with the -m) That address is broadcast to the LMS server. paul-'s Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=58858 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=108327 ___ unix mailing list unix@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/unix

As written here and elsewhere the only peculiarities on my systems are a 1.5MB archive tgz, a thick asound.conf, and one or 2 processes launched after startup. When I take such a config to my home network, it runs fine, IIRC. Don't get all hot and bothered about it, it's not pCP (or SL), it is the network I tell you ;) Get '2 of these' (http://www.tp-link.com/us/products/details/cat-40_T1600G-28TS.html) between your pCP clients and a slow DHCP server like a Pi and I bet you'll have my "problem". 3 SB 3 Libratone Loop, Zipp Mini iPeng (iPhone + iPad) LMS 7.9 (linux) with plugins: CD Player, WaveInput, Triode's BBC iPlayer by bpa IRBlaster by Gwendesign (Felix) Server Power Control by Gordon Harris Smart Mix, Music Walk With Me, What Was That Tune? by Michael Herger PowerSave by Jason Holtzapple Song Info, Song Lyrics by Erland Isaksson AirPlay Bridge by philippe_44 WeatherTime by Martin Rehfeld Auto Dim Display, SaverSwitcher, ContextMenu by Peter Watkins. epoch1970's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=16711 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=108327 ___ unix mailing list unix@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/unix
Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] bug in gerrelts squeezelite.sh
For what it's worth, pCP does wait for the network to get a IP/Broadcast address before starting squeezelite. The timeout is set to 20 seconds. Take a look a the log (/var/log/pcp_boot.log) Code: Waiting for network... Done (11). Every dot between network and Done is 0.5seconds Squeezelite is what is picking up the interface address. For some reason that is failing on your system. Are you doing something that would be setting an environment variable called UTMAC? paul-'s Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=58858 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=108327 ___ unix mailing list unix@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/unix
Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] Wireless access point on piCorePlayer?
It can be done, the setup and configuration has to be done via ssh session. I've sent instructions to some via pm. The biggest problem is that not all wifi chips support it. I've tested it with a rpi3 a few versions ago. paul-'s Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=58858 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=108341 ___ unix mailing list unix@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/unix
Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] Wireless access point on piCorePlayer?
I've been thinking about that too, I have the iphone but not the car :) I've found 'this thread' (http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?107995-picoreplayer-without-network/page4) about ad-hoc mode which is not too old and might be useful. Other than that, I haven't found a true AP recipe. I think I'll boot a pCP 3.20.2 and see how it rolls. I understand your use-case is the same as the linked thread, the Pi as an island, i.e. no network access at all. Of course to set it up etc network is needed so that will be something of a routed setup. A bridge would be neater though. I'll see what I can come up with. 3 SB 3 Libratone Loop, Zipp Mini iPeng (iPhone + iPad) LMS 7.9 (linux) with plugins: CD Player, WaveInput, Triode's BBC iPlayer by bpa IRBlaster by Gwendesign (Felix) Server Power Control by Gordon Harris Smart Mix, Music Walk With Me, What Was That Tune? by Michael Herger PowerSave by Jason Holtzapple Song Info, Song Lyrics by Erland Isaksson AirPlay Bridge by philippe_44 WeatherTime by Martin Rehfeld Auto Dim Display, SaverSwitcher, ContextMenu by Peter Watkins. epoch1970's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=16711 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=108341 ___ unix mailing list unix@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/unix

I am glad to report systemd is nowhere near in sight under Tiny Core. sysVinit triggers a chain of shell scripts that bring the machine up to order. Simple, sequential, and predictable. I for one am very happy with the way PCP works. I had this intriguing issue, I could find a probable cause, and solve it with 100% reliability via an easy config option. [SlimDevices: Unix] Wireless access point on piCorePlayer?

Is it possible, and if yes how, to configure piCorePlayer as a wireless access point, so that my iPhone can connect to it?
