Don't worry - that is associated with something else. The type "unk"

What is it ? What is the DigitalInput Tranporter action ?

As Peter said there are two instances of the parsing error. The code
skips all lines with "#" at the start - which means these lines are not
being read properly yet other comment lines with # are ignored
correctly. There is something about the line terminator. This feels
like an editor problem but the custom-convert.conf file posted works OK
on my Ubuntu system

Initially I see three possibilities.
1. The file being edited /posted is not the one actual being used
(.e.g another custom-convert.conf left in some other subfolder will take
precedent)
2. The standard Perl line terminator is being changed while files is
being read.
3. LMS Code is somehow corrupted

I think start with 1 - find all convert.conf and custom-convert.conf
files in the Plugins, Slim and Cache directories and all sub folders.

[SlimDevices: Unix] Knob - Volume - mouse scroll hack

2019-11-16 Thread Wiredcharlie

Here is a shell script that takes input from the mouse scroll wheel to
change the volume of the named local player. I wrote it with a view to
hacking a Poundland mouse plus rotary encoder to put a real volume knob
on my LMS / Squeezebox computer. I would welcome any comments or
suggestions.

Code:

  #!/bin/bash

  #use command - xinput - to find id of mouse who's scroll wheel you want to use
  mouseID=10
  player='Dining Room'
  IP="127.0.0.1 9090"

  #Need to convert player name to mac address
  #find number of players

  nplayers=$(echo "player count ?" | nc -q1 $IP | tail -c 2 )

  n=0
#loop through players to determine mac address of player

while [ $n -lt $nplayers ]
do
pmac=$(echo "player id $n ?" | nc -q1 $IP | tail -c 28 | sed -r
's/%3A/:/g' )
pname=$(echo "player name $n ?" | nc -q1 $IP | cut -c 15- | sed
-r 's/%20/ /g')
if [ "$pname" = "$player" ]; then
playerID=$pmac
echo
echo "$pname"   "$pmac"
fi
n=$(($n + 1))
done

  echo
  OldScroll=$(xinput --query-state $mouseID | grep 'valuator\[2\]\=' | cut -c
14-)
  echo "Initial wheel position: $OldScroll"
  playerVOL=$(printf "$playerID mixer volume ?\nexit\n" | nc $IP | tail -c 3 |
tr -dc '0-9')
  echo "Initial Volume: $playerVOL"
  echo

  # Infinite loop checks to see if mouse scroll wheel has turned and in which
direction - Ctrl C to quit

  while :
  do

  scroll=$(xinput --query-state $mouseID | grep 'valuator\[2\]\=' | cut -c 14-)

  if [ $OldScroll -gt $scroll ]; then
playerVOL=$(printf "$playerID mixer volume ?\nexit\n" | nc $IP | tail
-c 3 | tr -dc '0-9')
setVOL=`expr $playerVOL + 5`
printf "$playerID mixer volume $setVOL\nexit\n" | nc $IP

  if [ $scroll -gt $OldScroll ]; then
playerVOL=$(printf "$playerID mixer volume ?\nexit\n" | nc $IP | tail

setVOL=`expr $playerVOL - 5`
printf  "$playerID mixer volume $setVOL\nexit\n" | nc $IP

Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] Changing FLAC settings in custom-convert file disables MP3 in LMS ????

2019-11-16 Thread Paul Webster

The root error is higher up in the file ... and there is another
occurrence of something similar further down

Where you see '# FLAC output starts here'

Code:

  [19-11-16 18:20:02.3694]
Slim::Player::TranscodingHelper::loadConversionTables (106) input: 'wma'
output: 'wma' clienttype: '*': clientid: '*': 'wmal wmal * *'
  [19-11-16 18:20:02.3705]
Slim::Player::TranscodingHelper::loadConversionTables (106) input: 'wmap'
output: 'wmap' clienttype: '*': clientid: '*': '# FLAC output starts here'
  [19-11-16 18:20:02.3715]
Slim::Player::TranscodingHelper::loadConversionTables (106) input: 'flc'
output: 'flc' clienttype: '*': clientid: '*': '[sox] -q -t flac $FILE$ -t flac
-'

Very strange.
I have not tried it on mine (can't restart LMS at present).
I wonder if everyone gets this error on startup but have not hit
whatever the situation is when playing later that invokes the issue when
trying to use the bogus command.

Something in the parser seems not to like the special indicator for "do
nothing" which is a line containing whitespace (tab usually) followed by
the "-"

Thanks Paul, P4 updated to b7, tabs at bottom of page seem fixed.

Just one thing noticed this last couple of updates - the warning during

The log does not seem to be from startup - follow Paul's advice.

For this log reading & parsing the conf file - there is no need for play
any stream or files - in fact better NOT to play anything as with DEBUG
it generates unnecessary messages.

another thought to aid diagnosis ...

Did you start LMS and then set debug on player.source ?
I suspect you did because I don't see logging for the conversion tables
being read in.

So ... can you set the flag to "Save logging settings for use at next
application restart" at the top of the logging set-up page
and then restart LMS.
I think that this will then generate more logging as LMS starts up
because it reads in the conversion tables at the start.

Normally boot issues are power supply related. pCP kernel boots in
performance mode, so if your power supply is weak, that could do it,
Otherwise, there is something wrong with that SD card,

The Broken pipe message comes when you skip a song in Tidal. That makes
sense

I have attached the log with debug player.source .

I do not edit other custom-conf files.

Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] ANNOUNCE: piCorePlayer 5.0.0

2019-11-16 Thread mboxler

Sorry for my ignorance (been searching for hours). Obviously a newbie.
I have a Raspberry Pi 2 that I'm trying to load PcP. I've download
5.0.0, flashed it to a 1gb sd card. When I insert the sd card into the
pi, I get the rainbow screen, and it stops. The pwr led is solid red.
The act led flashes green 7 times, which I believe means no kernel.image
file, but I do see two files...kernel41940.img and kernel41940v7.img.

I'm sure I've done something wrong, but I'm at a loss. I have another
sd card with newly installed Debian, and it boots fine.

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance.

Mike

That's normal - most people don't run LMS from a console and don't see
the message.

The parsing of the conf file seems to be reading the line for "mp3 mp3"
but on the second line which has a "-" the line ending is not being
understood and so it takes the "# Non-Mp3" as part of the command.
Strange is that if this is the scenario I would expect a "- # Non -MP3"
in the log and not just "# Non-MP3"

To confirm what is happening. Enable player.source logging DEBUG level
to be enabled at startup to see how LMS is parsing each line of all the
conf files. Then, note time, restart LMS and copy of log from noted
time to up & ready LMS. Zip and post the copy of the log.

Do you have other plugins installed which have custom-convert.conf file
? Any one of these could source as well as convert.conf . The log may
help pin it down.

This was really a good shot that I believed in. BUT . Still the same

The sox command seems to do the right thing. The stuttering sound
disapears from Tidal, but radio streaming is still silent. Here from the
log:

And this comes too on the pi console:

/usr/local/slimserver/bin/armhf-linux/sox FAIL sox `-´ error writing
output file: Broken pipe

Don't forget to check the convert.conf file as well

There is no line ending issues with the custom-convert.conf file you
posted - so do you have multiple versions ?

Try editing with Notepad+ (download it) not notepad.
Then check the setting for Line Endings for the file and set it to Unix
(not Windows) and the format to be ANSI/ASCII not Utf-8 and not with a
BOM (will be clear from the menus).

in the custom-convert file the MP3 is still gone. So something
must go wrong in the edit mode.. Maybe NULLs or something

Not sure what to test now. Reproduction here would be best. What
version of LMS are you running ?

In the meantime can you confirm that if you revert the "[sox]" back with
the "-" as before, the MP3 error goes away.

This will prove the issues is with that line alone and not some other
thing which happened at same time.
