Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] BETA: piCorePlayer6.0.0 - PI4 support
Sorry, I totally forgot to state I am using this on a RPI B3. That i why I am looking for the 32bit kernel. I've been loading B1 on it and all is well, but I would like to take advantage of the Bluetooth changes of B6. B7 works great on my PI4 Howard Howard Passman wrote: > What is used for 32bit relative to 6.0? Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] Announce: Squeezelite - a small headless squeezeplay emulator for linux (alsa only)
Thanks PasTim, I tried your way but still have 'output_init_alsa' warnings on my system: Ubuntu server 19.10 +newest LMS+ Local Player Plugin (v.1.6.5)+ squeezelite-x86-64 (v.1.9.5-1193). I can hear the sound but I don't know if it could be better if alsa fifo and memory allocation would work properly. bernid's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=37408 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=97046 ___ unix mailing list unix@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/unix
Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] BETA: piCorePlayer6.0.0 - PI4 support
BT should work just fine in b7 with the 64 bit kernel. The only thing that is 64 bit is the kernel. All userspace is still 32bit. The main reason for migrating to 64 bit kernel is the memory management on the 4GB board. Unless there is a compelling reason, i'm not going to maintain the 32bit kernel on the pi4 for times sake. What got me confused a bit is that pCP 6 would report the arch as aarch64 even on a Pi 3B. Is this expected to be so? And is all userspace code expected to still work as before (the reason I was investigating this was a Spotty issue, which does run an external helper application). -- Michael ___ unix mailing list unix@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/unix

I added this to /etc/default/logitechmediaserver: Code: SLIMOPTIONS="--localfile" SLIMNICE="--nicelevel -6" and in /etc/init/d/logoitechmediaserver, d_start now includes: Code: start-stop-daemon --start --quiet \ --chuid $SLIMUSER \ --pidfile $PIDFILE \ $SLIMNICE \ --exec $DAEMON_SAFE \ --background \ --make-pidfile \ -- \ $DAEMON \ --prefsdir $PREFSDIR \ --logdir $LOGDIR \ --cachedir $CACHEDIR \ --charset=$CHARSET \ $SLIMOPTIONS With a similar change to d_start_direct. I also include this in the localplayer start command: Code: -p 25 I did all this some time ago, so am not sure which action had the most effect (or even which are really necessary), but LMS and localplayer run well on a relatively slow cpu doing a fair bit of transcoding. I don't get the warnings you report on xubuntu 18.04 ( as a dedicated LMS server). LMS 7.9.2 on PC, Xubuntu 18.04, FLACs 16->24 bit, 44.1->192kbps. 2 Touchs & EDO. LMS plugin UPnP/DLNA Bridge to MF M1 CLiC (A308CR amp & ESLs) & Marantz CR603 UPnP renderers. Also Minimserver & Upplay to same & to upmpdcli/mpd PC renderers. Squeezelite to Meridian USB Explorer DAC to PC speakers/headphones. Wireless Xubuntu 18.04 laptop firefox/upplay or Android 'phone with Squeeze-Commander/BubbleUPnP controls LMS/Minimserver. Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] ANNOUNCE: piCorePlayer 5.0.0
Hi there, just sharing a fun story here since I cant share it on Facebook, my mom reads it ;0) So I had a pair of speakers lying around, a small stereo amp, a raspberry pi, when my mothers integrated shitty CD player died. I thought well Ill just package a picoreplayer based stand-alone player using a usb drive and shell have a larger media collection than the local library ! She lives 650km away from me, so I packaged everything when she last came, made sure everything ran correctly with dhcp when cold started, installed the controller on her smartphone and felt confident it would work once in her place. Unboxing and wiring took a couple of Skype calls and then nothing worked, nothing was found by the app: neither server nor player. I even had her install a network sniffer. It took me 10mn in a 24h trip to solve it: she had plugged the Ethernet cable (rj45) in the phone socket (rj11) of her internet box. Didnt think of that one. In the end Im glad I was there to show her how to use the app! Another fun fact was that shes a bit like my kid who always wants me to read the same stories: she now has access to 5000+ records but insisted on finding 2... Syno 415+ with LMS 7.9 -> Picoreplayer 5.0 with Audio-GD I2S hdmi output -> PS Audio DirectStream -> Karan KAL reference mkIII-> 2x Karan KAM 900 -> Usher BE20 DMD. All powered from PS Audio P10. Yes, disable the onboard Bluetooth, and a USB dongle should work fine.
