Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] pCP: "Missing WWWROOT"

2020-03-17 Thread Michael Herger

You can try to download the file from the repo manually and copy to the
card.

That indeed did improve the situation. But then the network adapter
still wasn't found, then the soundcard, then... eventually I started
from scratch and am back in business now. Thanks!

Pi Zero W works great as player. And yes, original Pi and Pi 2 also
make great players with piCorePlayer. The only caveat I would add is
that wifi is only as good as your wifi network, so if there are issues
and you are using wifi, don't necessarily blame the Pi, and absolutely
don't blame piCorePlayer.

My experience is that a wired network connection with any version Pi
makes for a bulletproof piCorePlayer.

Hi all,

In the audio-settings part of LMS there is a remark that states that
'Lame' is needed for best playback of MP3 files. Is it meant for just
encoding or for playback too, I wonder.
Though I do not succeed in installing the plugin by pointing to the
opened file on the LMS page. This does not seem the correct way do do
things. Would make me happy if someone could show me the way...

the OLED library is included in the archive and is copied to the shared
library folder when you execute the gomonitor script

check where the files where extracted, and ensure they are located in
/mnt/mmcblk0p2/tce/

note that I updated the binaries with the gomonitor edit as well as
adding a little more feedback for command line arguments as I noticed
you'd copied the command I used in my example including the name of my
squeeze device; if you use gomonitor the name is picked up from
configuration

if the library is not where you extracted repeat the wget op that is
specified in the github repo, make sure you're in the
/mnt/mmcblk0p2/tce/ folder when you do so.

my folder looks like this:

Sounds like the extension is corrupted.but that would have happened
after download.

The MD5 is only checked at download.it does not get checked at each

You can try to download the file from the repo manually and copy to the

Hi all,

When PcP includes LMS I like solutions with switch-off button to avoid
brutal shutdowns. Also it is quite an elegant solution to start the
device, instead of getting to the wall to plug/unplug etc.
I guess this is still possible to use a GPIO power button with this
display? PcP in its interface allows to select the GPIO pins for
shutdown overlay. Then the GPIO numbers need to be set accordingly in
shutdown scripts.

Thanks, Marc

[SlimDevices: Unix] Overlay for DAC audiophonics i-sabre ES9023 in PcP 6.0.0?

2020-03-17 Thread truscellino

Hi everyone,

I recently had my first experiences with PiCorePlayer as server+player
and I am very impressed.
I was using a DAC Audiophonics i-sabre ES9023. They have some
instructions to install the DAC on PiCorePlayer:
'Audiophonics tutorial DAC PiCorePlayer'

These instructions from 2017 are a bit outdated and refer to PcP 3.20.
However I notice that on their screenshots, the choice of audio
interfaces in PcP menus for squeezelite includes:
"I-Sabre-ES9023 DAC"

This overlay choice is not in PcP 6.0.0. Choosing "ESS 9023 DAC" instead
works, but there are no configuration options available.

Does anyone know why the I-sabre-ES9023 was removed?

Thanks, Marc

I was thinking of changing the stream title, but I can have the playlist
title do more or less the same thing. I have a custom icon which I'm
going to integrate into the playlist item.

The stream is incredibly stable. I leave it running for hours and just
turn on the amp when I'm near. The Revo Radio gives a 100% audio out on
the Aux Out, in fact it's about 6dB too high which I correct with
alsamixer. It also seems to have a good audio pre-amp stage. The Aux Out
level isn't related to the radio volume, it runs even when the radio
output is zero which is a good thing and the radio has a remote app to
chose FM/DAB etc and the preset channels.

Not long ago flac streaming was very rare and required
custom-convert.conf settings now it just works in LMS.

Easiest way is with a keyboard and monitor. You can run 'mount' and see
if that extension is mounted.

pcp-6.0.0-www.tcz is mounted on /tmp/tcloop/pcp-6.0.0.-www. But it's
almost empty. Only has a few libedit related files/links in there.

How many times have you tried to boot it?

5-10x

What kind of pi is it? I

Pi 2B

Add to cmdline.txt

That didn't help.

How many times have you tried to boot it? What kind of pi is it? I
have occasionally seen on a pi zero where during boot the kernel cannot
create loop devices dynamically fast enough. But I've been running a
zero on 4.19.105 and have not seen that. The correction in that case
is to statically create the loop mounts on the kernel command line.

Add to cmdline.txt
max_loop=xxx (Normally 100 is plenty of loop devices)

About the only way for that to happen is if pcp-6.0.0-www.tcz is not
loaded.

How could I verify/investigate that? Or is it not worth it?... That
thing is quickly set up.

But as it's the same unit that caused problems during the upgrade I was
wondering whether that SD card is about to give up its ghost after about
three years of faithful, daily services...

2020-03-17 Thread paul-

All you did is move it? hmmm. Doesn't make sense.

About the only way for that to happen is if pcp-6.0.0-www.tcz is not
loaded.

[SlimDevices: Unix] pCP: "Missing WWWROOT"

2020-03-17 Thread Michael Herger
I brought my pCP based controller home from the office. Plugged it in,
and it doesn't re-boot. It stops with "Missing WWWROOT". Any idea what I
could do there?

raspbian.
Question: if i switch the Raspberry, so if i put raspbian into Raspberry
4 installing also LMS and putting picoreplayer into Raspberry 2 only
player (no server), can be a good idea or Is the same?

Hi Paul. Everything working fine on the codec. Is there a way of
changing the meta data in the stream output. It's not possible to change
it in the LMS interface. Changes made using the editing tool for
playlists don't stick and I can't find anything in the pCp config that
looks like it would help.

As a player it is fine.
It can also run LMS but then it does start to feel slow.
