Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] piCorePlayer 8.0.0 - Bluetooth Discussion
Its up to LMS to remember the playback modenothing I can do about that from the bluetooth side. Once the player connects, take a look a the lms interface and see what is in the playback queue. As for the logs, that all looks normal, you will notice in the second log that you are pressing the play/pause button on the speaker. Again, that all looks normal. piCorePlayer a small player for the Raspberry Pi in RAM. Unfortunately, my jivelite pCP is a little dead at the moment so I can't test anything. You probably should be using this directory instead /opt/jivelite/share/jive/applets/SetupWallpaper/wallpaper/. /tmp is definitely temporary. Add opt/jivelite/share/jive/applets/SetupWallpaper/wallpaper/pcp_encorered.png to /opt/.filetool.lst and backup so it will be available after a reboot. pCP is not working out the name, it must be part of the jivelite code. Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] Player randomly stops playing part way through songs
I am now at home and have checked and LMS has stopped again. If I click on the next button, it looks like it starts to progress playing the track but only for 4 seconds and then it jumps straight to the end of the song, also there is no audio played while it is doing this. This happens, either pressing the Next or Previous player button. Also, the player just shows the play button as paused. But if I try and click on it to start to play, it jumps right back to pause again. I did have a look at the DMESG log, but it does not log anything else when I try to re-play the playlist again. For screen switcher, I can see that it is referenced in these forums, but I do not see it in the list of available plugins on the LMS server. I do have use unsupported plugins checked. Does it need to be installed on the server first? [SlimDevices: Unix] "Customize Device" question - piCorePlayer / Jivelite
When using the Customize Device plug-in through Settings>Advanced>Customize Device, if I add a file under the Wallpaper section, does it replace the existing selections, or add to it? I thought that I would ask before I played around with it. I noticed that there was no "Encore Red" option for pcp, so I copied the "bb_encorered.png", resized it to 400x800 and renamed to pcp_encorered.png. I added it to the "/tmp/tcloop/pcp-jivelite/opt/jivelite/share/jive/applets/SetupWallpaper/wallpaper/" directory and "Encore Red" appeared as an option under Wallpapers. I'm not sure if that is the preferred or proper method though! Also, how did pcp tie the label "Encore Red" to the filename itself? Thanks! stereoptic's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=53162 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=116998 ___ unix mailing list unix@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/unix

Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] Player randomly stops playing part way through songs
Hi mherger, Thanks for your reply. I can confirm the following: LMS is running on the same pi which is playing the music. Either straight of the SDCard which has piCorePlayer installed, or via a connected USB External HDD. All the music being played is in MP3 format, which are all at all encoded the same: 320 kbps @ 44100 Hz, Bitdepth of 16/Bit Rate. I am not sure which process caused the crash. The log that I posted did not have any other information 'below' what was shown. I had not cut anything from the end, only from what preceded it. If required, I could zip the full log and attached it, but I would need to do this once I get back from work this evening. Are there any other logs which may provide additional information? Obviously, I would have to wait for it to crash again to be able to provide any additional information. paul- wrote: > but can you shut off the other device for a few minutes to see if things > run smoother? Thanks again for the reply, Paul. I took the battery out of the other device - but it still shows up on a scan, so something somewhere is storing its id ("Bluthing")! No real difference in the behaviour of the speaker vs pCP Bluetooth. Here's a summary, beginning with a working, playing speaker connected over BT: 1. Speaker off, speaker back on - pairs and play resumes 2. Speaker off, reboot Pi - BT starts, speaker remembered as paired, with a red X 3. As 2, then speaker on - no change, and no new entries in log 4. As 3, then click "connect". Red X changes to green tick, speaker does not beep to announce pairing, nothing in log, no actual connection (I refreshed the screen a few times during this, not sure at exactly what point I saw the green tick) 5. Back to 2, click "forget", "scan" finds the speaker (and includes Bluthing in the list in the pane at the top of the BT screen), offers speaker for pairing, pair as usual and all works. (LMS has not remembered the song mix that was playing, but that's not related to BT) The goal for this little project is a plug-and-play-power-only setup for a bunch of old ladies hosting a gathering. There won't be a network, input device or display. None of them knows anything about IT stuff so I think that goal is probably unachievable. If I come across a BT speaker I can borrow, I'll check that out in case it works like my Sony headphones (which simply work over BT). I can make a suitable system with a plugged speaker so I'll see if they'll be happy with an extra wire. Cheers - and once more, big big thanks for the BT work and helpful support. Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] Announce: piCorePlayer 8.0.0
paul- wrote: > Hmmm. 8.0.0 and 8.2.0 use the exact same repo, just a different kernel. > That's really wierd. Yup - weird alright. I chose 8.0.0 when 8.2.0 wouldn't play nicely because that's what's running on my Pi Zero W that serves music over BT to my Sony headphones. And that's been rock solid 24/7*365 (apart from a little hiccup that turned out to be nothing to do with pCP or LMS). My PC downloaded the target file with no problem at the same time the Pi was failing. Anyway 8.0.0 is doing fine for me at the mo.
