Hi wonderful PCP developers! Can't wait to update to 6.0. Unfortunately,
my PCP player is hung up trying to download 6.0 updates.

Plus downloads with a PC from

FYI my internet is working fine otherwise.

Sounds to me (of course, I'm only a "junior" member ;) that the
problematic TV/monitor is emitting RF interference of some type,
disrupting the wifi signal just enough to prevent connection. I would
try booting up pCP with monitor powered on but 1) with TV/monitor
connected to different hdmi source and 2) with powered TV/monitor not
connected to any source. If either produces same result, than you can
eliminate pCP as the problem.

Finally able to access sourceforge (wow, multi-day outage), and yes,
verified running latest version on pCP. I also tested jivelite windows,
and it exhibits exactly the same problems of no play prompts. Seems
prompt function is disabled/deleted in all jivelite flavors. :-(

Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] Announce: piCorePlayer 3.00

2018-02-27 Thread SteveLazer

Does anyone know how I can get my piCorePlayer to display the play
prompts that are supposed to appear when Defeat Destructive Play is in
effect? This problem also seems related to another - partially played
podcasts will not play. I finally figured out this was because a select
prompt for partially played podcasts is not appearing on piCorePlayer
touch screen, causing endless wait in LMS server for input on the
un-displayed Play from Last Position/Beginning prompt. However if I
control piCorePlayer remotely (Orange Squeeze android app or Squeezebox
Touch), it works properly, but not with piCorePlayer's resident JiveLite
controller. Seems like a particular prompt function was disabled in
jivelite code.

Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks,
Steve

Finally got Jivelite to install after sourceforge came back, but totally

unable to install LMS even after 24 hours, message:

[ ERROR] There was a error downloading slimserver.tcz
[ INFO ] Retrying extension slimserver.tczin 5 seconds.
...times out after multiple tries.

Oddly the piCorePlayer sourceforge repository shows as accessible in
Extensions,
and I was able to download slimserver.tcz via sourceforge website.

Does anyone know if there is another method to install LMS on
piCorePlayer?

Just updated from 3.21 to 3.22 via Win32diskimager to SD Card, but
Jivelite install fails in web settings with this message:
"[ ERROR] There was a error downloading pcp-jivelite.tcz"

Extensions button returns following:
Internet accessible.
Official piCore repository accessible.
piCorePlayer sourceforge repository not accessible.

That's interesting. I mostly use the Joggler skin for the greater
detail in the list and descriptions; it's especially great for podcasts,
and also for the piCorePlayer's most excellent, stylized,
photo-realistic VU meters which I think is only available with that
skin. Love those meters.

Thanks for the suggestion Ralphy! ...but no go. I was previously running
7.7 of LMS due to bugs I had experienced in more recent community
versions, but just updated to 7.91 to see if would help with this issue.
Unfortunately setting player to Do Not Defeat (or any other destructive
Touch-To-Play setting) did not make any difference; I tested settings by
changing another item on the player page - Play Other Songs in Album -
and yes, the PiCorePlayer responded to the change.

It seems to me that the problem is related to the selected song holding
touch focus during and after the confirmation "Song Added" dialogue box
appears, so that a subsequent touch on the Now Playing button, while
detected, does not refocus the touched area on the Now Playing button -
but instead is interpreted as if the song selection was touched again.
What also makes it fairly obvious this is occurring is when selecting
the Now Playing button in the sequence described, the -song selection
momentarily highlights -as if touched.

I wonder why defeating destructive touch does not seem to be working?
While it wouldn't fix the bug, it would at least keep my playlist
intact.

Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] Jivelite for piCorePlayer

2017-08-01 Thread SteveLazer

Wanted to report a bug that I believe is in Jivelite. When you long
press on a music selection, and then select Play Next or Add to End on
the popup menu, a confirmation dialogue confirming it was added to the
playlist appears. If you then select the Now Playing button (upper right
arrow button) before the dialogue times out and disappears, instead of
going to the Now Playing screen, the last music selection highlights and
treats your selection as a "Play" select wiping out your current
playlist.

If you wait for the dialogue to disappear and select the Now Playing
button, there is no action at all on the first tap, and requires an
additional press to go to Now Playing.
