That seems possible. The command line version is:

Code:

amixer sset 'Auto-Mute Mode' 'Line Out+Speaker' (or 'Speaker Only' or
'Disabled')

I had tried recently to update from v5.0.0 to beta7 but was advised to
make a fresh image.

Seeing *The Moog*'s report I decided to try again.

I just tried this on a rpi3b running v5.0.1 (Standard install)

On first attempt I was advised to increase the space available, which I
did, upto 300MB.

Code:

but it still failed to complete

Thanks Paul - looking forward to what you can do to streamline the
install.

I just went through a fresh install using the latest b9 image, and I'm
pleased to see that the framebuffer settings made the cut. And the
lcd-brightness.sh script seemed to arrive automatically - I'm guessing
that's now part of the 'default skin' extension. So that's a couple
more steps that are a bit easier to do already. I'll update my
instructions based on b9. I'd say that really just leaves the
cmdline.txt and /opt/bootlocal.sh steps that could be streamlined
somehow.

Everything seems functional in the skin now apart from the 'brightness
when off' feature in the piCorePlayer applet. I know Ralphy was looking
into a patch to apply the '_GENERIC' changes to JiveMain.lua, but I
guess he was holding off with that, and the updates to the skin and its
strings, until I provided a new strings file to finish the job. I'll do
that today.

Thanks for your assistance Slimchances all installed and Tidal is now
working.
My local music store is on an external Iomega drive and when plugged
into the SFF PC Zorin sees it and I can browse the files.
However, within the LMS server settings via my IPad when trying to
perform the first scan I can only see a very limited folder structure.
Do I have to do it on the pc it’s self?

The headphone itself is not using German characters, that was me editing
the name of the headphone in the Bluetooth section. If they make
problems than I will just use 7bit ASCII characters. No problem!

I took the fresh 9b audio image and the first configuration step was cpu

1. Isolated cpu 0 - pi4 booted without problem
2. Isolated 0,3 - pi4 is crashing during boot and it is not reachable in

Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] Jivelite on a Pirate Audio 240x240 screen

2020-02-09 Thread chill

CURRENT BEST STEPS AS OF 09FEB2020 (TO SUIT NEW B9 IMAGE):
Put a fresh pcp6-b9 image on the SD card.

Whilst the SD card is still in the laptop:
Enter wifi credentials in wpa_supplicant.conf.sample and save as
wpa_supplicant.conf

Add these parameters to the end of cmdline.txt. All of the parameters
in cmdline.txt should be on one continuous line, with a space between
each one.

Code:

fbcon=map:10 fbcon=font:VGA8x16

Boot the RPi from this SD card.

The default file system is 58mb, so for this basic setup it is not
necessary to resize the FS - I have about 6.6mb to spare after this
setup.

Add these commands to /opt/bootlocal.sh to set up the framebuffer. Make
sure they are inserted near the top of the file, BEFORE pcp_startup.sh.
(The init string in 'flexfb'
(https://github.com/notro/fbtft/wiki/flexfb) has now been constructed to
match the settings found in Pimoroni's sample 'def _init(self)' Python
function 'here'
Note that the third line of the init code, highlighted in bold, can be
changed to '-1,0x36,0x70,\' (as per the Pimoroni original settings) to
rotate the display 90 degrees clockwise.

Code:

  modprobe flexfb setaddrwin=0 width=240 height=240 init=\
  -1,0x01,\
  -2,150,\
  -1,0X36,0X00,\
  -1,0xB2,0x0C,0x0C,0x00,0x33,0x33,\

  -1,0x29,\
  -2,100,\
  -3
  modprobe fbtft_device name=flexfb speed=3200 cs=1 gpios=dc:9

Load the pcp-jivelite_default-qvga240squareskin.tcz extension

In the Jivelite section of the tweaks page, change the Framebuffer to
/dev/fb1 and click on 'Set FB'. The Frame Rate and Frame Depth can be
left blank - they will default to 22 and 32 respectively, which are
fine.

Install Jivelite from the Tweaks page (this step includes an automatic
backup, so accept the reboot prompt.)

Screen should show console messages during boot, then piCorePlayer
splash screen, then Jivelite ‘Choose Language’.

install pcp-sbpd.tcz

Make a /home/tc/sbpd-script.sh with the following content:

Code:

#!/bin/sh

  # start pigpiod daemon
  pigpiod -t 0 -f -l -s 10

Make /home/tc/sbpd-script.sh executable: chmod +x
/home/tc/sbpd-script.sh

Add /home/tc/sbpd-script.sh to user commands, then save (this step
includes an automatic backup, so go to main page and reboot).

Jivelite should be fully functional now, including navigation with the
four buttons.

Set up the Squeezelite output device, e.g. to 'HiFiBerry DAC

Add this to config.txt

Code:

gpio=25=op,dh

Reboot one more time to finish the process.

Try this draft version. Download the attached zip and put the resulting

Not sure which driver will support this DAC. Very few ESS dacs are

I know. RPi kernels are built with it enabled (I use the same settings
they do). You can't change it with iwconfig. Did you try to do what
you need? There is a discussion somewhere on the RPI forums, RPi is of
the opinion that is should be enabled.

castalla wrote:

Yeah, that's not right. The Joggler retains the last used setting
across a reboot, and the applet should show whatever the current setting
is.

The version in the attached zip does this properly now. Whenever the
the screen with the three options is shown the applet reads the current
setting and sets the corresponding radio button.

I'm reasonably happy that it's now doing what's intended - the chosen
option is reflected in what alsamixer shows. But I'm not seeing any
difference between the 'Speaker Only' and 'Line Out+Speaker' options.
Both options seem to play through the built-in speaker until a 3.5mm
jack is inserted, at which point the built-in speaker mutes and the
sound switches to the speaker attached to the 3.5mm jack. The
'Disabled' option allows the built-in and external speakers to play
together.

Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] BETA: piCorePlayer6.0.0 - PI4 support

2020-02-09 Thread Chris010887

Hi all,

I'm new here, but I hope this is nothing that has already been discussed
a hundred times...

I'm running the 6.0.0-b9 on my RPi4 with Hifiberry Amp2 since today. Had
a few problems with the upgrade. Squeezelite was not recognizing the
Card anymore and wasn't starting. First I was using a fresh image and
hat the problem from the beginning, then I tried using the 6.0.0-b7 and
then performing the isitu update.

That was working first, but when I was activating bluetooth settings
(and expanding file system) it hasn't worked again. The solution seemed
to be making the settings under 6.0.0-b7 and then making the upgrade.

The main question is about Streaming from Bluetooth Device (Smartphone)
to PCP. I got it to run basically and it's fine. But there's two things
that make problems.

1.) The audio and also the interactions on the Smartphone (volume
up/down, next,...) are delayed for many seconds, that makes the handling
a mess. Is there the possibility to make some config changes or is it a
known issue that is not fixed yet?
2.) Connecting: Would it be possible to always have the Player
"discoverable" and just set a PIN that is needed to connect? That would
make it possible to connect devices without accessing the PcP via Web
and setting the Player discoverable.

My Pi is on GE-LAN, so I don't think it is just about the Bluetooth
Audio/Control.

Looking forward to your answers,

Br, Chris

I have seen some inconsistencies on these return timers and buttons

But I remember you were looking to round up development on this release

So perhaps this is the moment to collect and report such things.

My proposal would be to never auto reload such pages, of have the option
to freeze the timer, As I try to read all the windows and scan for error

interesting. But present a manual return button to indicate the page is

I was having problems playing hi-res files on my newest player - an Allo
USBridge Sig with DigiOne Sig - but that issue is now resolved.

Thanks again for developing and maintaining such a great piece of
software. :)

I think Ralphy was referring to the skin name translations that you had
already provided. I added them to the consolidated files that I sent
him earlier, and he's already included them in the installable package.

Code:

QVGA240SQUARE_SKIN
  # SLT: QVGA refers to the "quarter VGA" resolution of the display
  # CS QVGA skin krajiny
  # DA QVGA-tema, liggende
DE Quadratischer QVGA-Skin (240x240)

I have the patch ready for JiveMain and will rebuild jivelite when the
strings file is ready and Michael has added German and French
translations for the Square QVGA skin.

Uh, oh... what file? French? I hope there isn't much more than a few

And I thought I had committed them myself already... thanks anyway!

Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] Jivelite for piCorePlayer

2020-02-09 Thread cfuttrup

Today Jivelite froze this morning at 4:45 - as it sometimes does (at
different times). I did as usual, I unplug at the wall, reboot. This
time piCorePlayer gave me the following message (same as in #1003 in
this thread a few pages back):

Starting Jivelite...There is a problem with the Jivelite installation.
Please remove and reinstall Jivelite.

I didn't do this, I just rebooted piCorePlayer from the web-interface
and Jivelite came back up. I wonder if anyone has found the root cause
of this problem? (first problem being that it freezes from time to time,
but second problem that it wouldn't start) ... is it just that I've used
an old SD-card (that I've found in a drawer) and it's either just a slow
one, or maybe near end-of-life?

Best regards,
Claus

Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] Jivelite on a Joggler

2020-02-09 Thread castalla

I just tried this image on an Openframe 2 ...

It boots and works using ethernet.

But, as Roobarb says:

If you're using an OpenFrame 2 the wireless connection does work... sort
of. Performance is absolutely terrible and I've not been able to do
anything about it. Maybe it's my OF2 which is at fault, but feedback
would be appreciated. We're using the brcmsmac driver; the b43 was worse
and broke Bluetooth for me. The broadcom-wl driver might do the trick,
but there are licensing issues, so I can't distribute it. Good luck!

In fact, wifi doesn't work at all ... can get to settings and enter the
SSID/Passphrase. On reboot, the settings are recalled but no wifi
address has been assigned.

I googled for info on the wl driver, but it made little sense, I'm
afraid.

Any ideas?

(sqpOS 3 works on the Openframe 2 - maybe Jivelite is a step too far
,,,)

Too many buffers involved. Leave the phone volume alone, and change the
volume of the output device from any lms interface device.

Nope. Is Roobarb's comment related to the Bionic images that I started
from, or the newer image that he's made? I don't have an OF2, and
wouldn't know how to go about trying the broadcom-wl driver I'm afraid.

2020-02-09 Thread mftech

I'm using the Digione +Rpi3 whit LMS 7.9.2 running on a Daphile Server
No problems with PCM playback.
I enable both settings for DSD-over-PCM in LMS Player Settings.

After this settings was enable I was unable to playbapck DSD or PCM, the
cursour move but no sound, I tried the following actions, whitout
sucess:

-Stop/Start Squeezelite on the Picoreplayer configuration page

-Reboot PicorePlayer

-Reboot Daphile

By un-checking the options for DoP in LMS everything get back to normal.

Is it a bug or I missed a step in configuring Picoreplayer ?

It relates to
https://www.jogglerwiki.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2=4519

I read through the whole thread but didn't glean anything

So I'll just use sqpOS then.

Same here, -in situ- worked fine from b6 (the last official beta?) to
b9.
