Nice job again on the tute. With regard to the SDS knife tool, I'd love
to see 3 enhancements.

1. Default to 'selected faces'.

2. When snapping to a point on an edge of the object to be cut, often
the adjacent face does not get cut. (the line has to cross over the
face to be cut). This makes it less useful. The tool should be able to
'see' cutting edges that start right on the edge of the cut face.
(tolerence setting?).

3. When using a cutting object with higher detail than the target
object, the tool should add points to the resultant cut mesh
corresponding to the cutting object. If the cutting object uses curves,
maybe there could be a threshold angle in the context bar showing the
density of points to be added along the curves. This would be super
helpful in cutting roads into sds topo meshes. PLEASE!

Yo Zaug..
I am happy you tested it out, and came out on top.. with a nice model..
That football render looks coolio..
Could be a cool model for a Death Star styled Football anim...
Have it kicked hard, from a nice green field, and out into space...landing
on a Planet with lava grass pitch..and some Alien Robots, starting a
game!

Looking forward for more of your scripts.. for more of these styled
footballs..

btw, I watch the worldcup in soccer now, and seeing the pattern of the
matchballs.. I miss a function in the SDS Knife Tool, to be able to cut a
SDS into whatever pieces, without the SDS object changes its shape..

Hi Brian..

Thanx, that sounds good...

Ok, good that time didn´t matter.. (I guess at times its better late then
never.)
One problem though is that I have several tuts in my head and/or half
planned, and some of it already in rough state in html pages..
Hopefully some of it will get finished... especially some Char Anim stuff..
but time (maybe long time hehe) will tell..

It will be nice to see your greebled football..!
Maybe a spacescene where some aliens plays soccer in a Greebled spacey
environment..! =)

Looking forward to see and test your next GreebleZ version..!

Stefan,
Nice modeling work, nice tutorial. Think nothing of the time, that
matters not to us : ) I have read through it and seems easy to follow
will find time to test it after I get the next Real GreebleZ! released.
Can't wait to get a chance to greeble my very own football ; D

cheers,

I haven´t yet sent it for upload on RS info site.. (I was just happy to have

But I will send it, I too think most stuff should be collected in one

Hi Stefan,

As I have said before very good work on this, I found the tutorial to be
clear, accurate and very concise in it explaination of how to create what
is a complex object. Well done and I'm sure this will be useful for a very
long time to come getting read down the years/

But
did you send it to the Realsoft info site?

think it's nice when all the tutorials stay in a public

Hi Stef :

This is an awesome tute ! (the one that I proof-read)

It's also an excellent example of the kind of power
that does actually lay at the heart of RS3D . Once you
do this tutorial and end up with the Soccer Ball you
will be completely amazed at how many shortcuts and
how many keyboard controls there are for releasing
this awesome modeling power .

All quite useless to the newbie or average user ,
