If you just want a listing of the files sorted by name, from Window's
command prompt:

> dir /on
If you just want the file names without the other metadata (file size,
date, etc.), add /b:

> dir /b /on
You can even redirect the output from that command into a file, which
avoids line wraps on long file names:

> dir /b /on > filename.txt

For other options on the dir command:
> dir /?

Re: [libreoffice-users] Install without ANY changes to file associations

2016-01-22 Thread Regina Henschel

Hi Eddie,

if you do not want any file name extensions assigned to LibreOffice, why
do you want a regular installation at all? Make an "administrative
installation" and generate a link to soffice.exe. You get an
administrative installation by

msiexec -a path_to_the_downloaded_msi_file

Kind regards
Regina

associations on the Windows 7 x64 platform?

REGISTER_ALL_MSO_TYPES=0 results in some file associations; .ods for example is
changed from Excel to Libre.
REGISTER_NO_MSO_TYPES=1 results in some file associations; .ods for example is

REGISTER_ALL_MSO_TYPES=0 and REGISTER_NO_MSO_TYPES=1 results in some file

I have a student document that is 5 pages long
which is a essay on Python. They are required to
do the code in Courier font. If the students creates
the document on a Linux machine it looks OK but
if you then open it on a Windows machines the page
with the Courier font is missing. Anyone come across
this or shall I do a bug report

2016-01-22 Thread charles meyer
That data ended up in that fashion because I was trying to create a
simple list of file names of files located on a flash drive and the
only way I recall doing that in Windows XP - now 7 - is to use the DOS
command which then generates that info as I shared.

I was just trying to generate a list of file names alphabetically by
artist/file name for each .mp3 but Windows doesn't seem to do that
easily.

Hi Dries,

Thank you for sharing that it could be imported to iTunes.

I’d prefer not to do this online but I do appreciate you sharing that.
