May I start of by saying a huge thank you to everyone who has helped me?

I have managed to alter the PDF file using Inkscape as suggested, it took a
long time but I am sure that it is OK.

AutoBild_logo_2009.pdf

The 2017 file was given to me by the manufactures and I don’t know if they
still have the original 2009 file, I could have asked for it but I didn’t
want to be a pain.

I need the edited file so that a local acrylic manufacture can print the
logo and text on a piece of clear acrylic for me, the acrylic is a cover for
diecast model car display case that got damaged in the post.

I think the Logo and Text is UV flatbed printed onto the acrylic

Once again thank you to everyone who has helped

Re: [libreoffice-users] Strange Macro folder behavior

2018-07-23 Thread Peggy
More on Macros. My shortcuts are still there. One still worked. Maybe I
found it under the list under tables and just assigned a shortcut. It was
"select table."
One had some technical terms I didn't understand and when I used the
shortcut to convert the table to text (which I remember recording) I got an
error message that I'll attach.
Hoping attachments are OK?

Re: [libreoffice-users] Strange Macro folder behavior

2018-07-23 Thread Peggy
I checked and got the message about Java when I chose "organize macros >
LibreOffice Basic. (Writer isn't there.) I said "No" and now I see my
Macros without getting the message.

Anyhow my macros are gone again.

I made a library called "My Macros" Maybe if I store them under the
Standard Library, they won't disappear. I assigned each one to a shortcut
so I shouldn't need to go into the library, should I?

I still can't figure out why, when I save a document and then look under
"Run Macros," I find a new library with the title I just saved. Tried it
just now and titled it Test.
Sure enough, there it is! I looked under another document I had opened and
found a library for both that one and "Test." Then I opened one from the
Run option in the Win 7 start menu and checked and there is a Library named
"untitled 2" even before I saved it.

Is this usual behavior? I know so little and have always used Writer to
create simple text documents or tables. This is the first time I tried
creating macros.

Also, for some reason, I can't get LibreOffice Writer to put an icon on the
taskbar. I have to start a new doc from Windows 7 start menu "Run
LibreOffice Writer."

Do you think I should uninstall and reinstall?

Re: [libreoffice-users] Underlined unformatted text

2018-07-23 Thread Peggy
You are right. It doesn't. I usually open a page that I had formatted the
way I like. It had some text when I saved it as a template.
I just delete the text and use the page which is saved as untitled.

I'm having some problems with writer. My taskbar link won't work anymore.
So I'll have to find the executable file and save another link to the
taskbar.
Also I'm having some crashing problems. Seems like it's happening since the
most recent update.

Thank you for the reply and the fix!

Re: [libreoffice-users] Strange Macro folder behavior

2018-07-23 Thread Andrew Pitonyak

Many features are not available without Java so it lives on every
computer that I own. I am not sure what the security risk is, but, since
everything has one

Happy to hear that your solved the problem and figured out where it is
hiding.

This is probably related to "where did I store my macro".

If you remember...

1. Notice what Macro Library container you use. You might store a macro
inside a document (and that would be a macro library container). Your
choices here are really (a) some document, or (b) LibreOffice
application.

2. Notice Library you used. Every Macro Library Container may contain
numerous libraries. If you use the library named "Standard", then that
macro will always be available, but, you cannot easily move macros
stored in the standard library.

3. Notice what module you stored your macro. Each library can contain
multiple modules.

I hope that I have not confused you too terribly much.

You can enumerate those with:

theTypeDescriptionManager

There is a method EnumerateTypesTest. Notice that there is a
typeArray. I
have note tested this, but, I could likely use the following two
types

com.sun.star.uno.TypeClass.CONSTANT, _

com.sun.star.uno.TypeClass.CONSTANTS

And enumerate the constant types and print them. If I were
industrious, I
would dump them into a Calc document. I can think of lots of things
that I

could do.

I have a method in the UNO module called EnumerateEnumeratsions,
which,

given a name, will print the names and associated values.

I already use a couple of constants when working with spreadsheets,

I have not looked at the predefined constants in a while, and I do

WARNING: I am about to tell you to download a document containing
macros.
The document looks just fine if you tell it to disable macros, but,
it is a
document about macro programming and almost every one of those
macros is
contained in libraries in the document. So, feel free to not enable
them,
but you will not be able to click on the buttons in the document to
test

run the contained macros.

Navigate here:
http://www.pitonyak.org/oo.php

Download OpenOffice.org Macros Explained V4 (or just click on this
link)

http://www.pitonyak.org/OOME_4_0.odt

Open the document and search for the text "vbNewLine". This should
land
you in table 10 Visual Basic-compatible string constants. This
table lists
9 of this type of constant, but, they are only available if you
enable
"compatibility mode" using "Option Compatible" in the module, or,
by
calling CompatibilityMode(True) in your code before you use these
specific

constants.

And no, I do not have an exhaustive list of defined constants. The
constants defined by the UNO object model, you can obtain using a
macro,
but I do not think that it is directly related to your question so
I will
not spend time finding the code that does that; but it is in the
document

linked above.

And yes, Pi is a defined constant in LO Basic.

Hope this helped at least a little.

   - PI as a type Double numeric value”

I assume this is true for LibreOffice as well, but I can't find

the ”several constants”.

At work a use Excel (I don't really want to and it's full of bugs,

I'm now

I have Downloaded and installed LibreOffice 5.4.7.

ever work out how to do a simple edit.

All I have to do is change 2017 to 2009 on the first PDF file and
change

1967 to 1959 on the other PDF file.

Hi,

For that kind of changes LibreOffice might not be your best option.
You should look into InkScape (it's also free software:
https://inkscape.org/en/ ). It can open PDF file with much more fidelity
than LibreOffice and allow very simple text changes (just
double-click on

the text you want to edit).

LibreOffice is more of an authoring tool, and as said by others PDF is
*not* a format designed to be easily editable.

Great news.

I did not know that Inkscape would edit PDF files.

I just used it on Linux, instead of Corel Draw that is installed on
Windows 10.

Will look into that myself.  I do hope this answer helps the original
poster.

I use Draw to edit simpler PDFs and it works very well as in this
posters case, even a PDF with 2 items, Inkscape I use for more
complex PDFs or where the edits are more substantial.

Re: [libreoffice-users] Predefinied constants (Macro, Basic)

2018-07-23 Thread Andrew Pitonyak

I have not looked at the predefined constants in a while, and I do not
remember how I got my list, but it was probably by reading the code.

WARNING: I am about to tell you to download a document containing
macros. The document looks just fine if you tell it to disable macros,
but, it is a document about macro programming and almost every one of
those macros is contained in libraries in the document. So, feel free to
not enable them, but you will not be able to click on the buttons in the
document to test run the contained macros.

Navigate here:
http://www.pitonyak.org/oo.php

Download OpenOffice.org Macros Explained V4 (or just click on this
link)

http://www.pitonyak.org/OOME_4_0.odt

Open the document and search for the text "vbNewLine". This should land
you in table 10 Visual Basic-compatible string constants. This table
lists 9 of this type of constant, but, they are only available if you
enable "compatibility mode" using "Option Compatible" in the module, or,
by calling CompatibilityMode(True) in your code before you use these
specific constants.

And no, I do not have an exhaustive list of defined constants. The
constants defined by the UNO object model, you can obtain using a macro,
but I do not think that it is directly related to your question so I
will not spend time finding the code that does that; but it is in the
document linked above.

And yes, Pi is a defined constant in LO Basic.

Hope this helped at least a little.

Hi!

I have done some searching and finally I found this at

”OpenOffice.org Basic predefines several constants. Among the most
useful

are:

   - True and False, for Boolean assignment statements
   - PI as a type Double numeric value”

I assume this is true for LibreOffice as well, but I can't find the
rest of

the ”several constants”.

At work a use Excel (I don't really want to and it's full of bugs,
but at

least I get paid…) and I wrote some macros in VBA. VBA has a lot of
predefined constants, for instance vbNewLine and a lot more, and I'm
now
trying to find out what constants are available in LibreOffice Basic,
since
LibreOffice is what I use exclusively at home, so I don't have to
reinvent

the wheel.

So a link to a list of ALL predefined Basic constants would be very
appreciated.

Kind regards
