What do you mean by "demos"?

Do you mean:
(a) a cut down version of the software to "try before you buy"
or
(b) tutorials of how to perform certain functions

If you mean (a), then no - there's no need, since LibreOffice is free
software and fully functional. If you mean (b) then you'll have to
search online for suitable material/persons to demonstrate the
function(s) you're interested in.

There are many family history form templates available for download (to
USB stick, then to home), do none of them serve your need? (I suspect
the answer is "No - none are quite what I want").

Anyhow, to your original question: The LO download page has a link
"Help for offline use: {Language}" Where language will be, probably,
English GB. Download that file at the library. Don't worry about the
(Torrent, info) links, they're not really that useful to you.

The LO download page can be found at;
https://www.libreoffice.org/download/download-libreoffice/
The page 'helpfully' detects operating system and language which, being
in a library almost certainly means Windows is detected, but it is
possible to change the Operating System choice from a drop down list.

How you then go about installing the help files depends largely on which
OS you're using.

Good luck.

Maybe not; I had this with a previous version of LO. After updates,

Unfortunately, I don't recall the version(s) of LO that suffered the

All of which, IME, have the font settings right there, in plain view.

It is possible, however, that Greg has inadvertently removed the relevant
toolbar (or whatever). In Linux (well, Debian, at least) settings are
in ~/.config/libreoffice/ - renaming (or simply deleting) that directory
may get Greg the font toolbar back but would, of course, eradicate any
other tweaks Greg has made.

Neither option, or their results, are optimal in this use case.

It's fine to do the grunt work in Calc, but it's easier to
present the output in Writer. Possibly in tabular form. You can cut

in Writer. This has the beauty that, if anything changes in the

So, just to get it straight, if, for example, my first 3 sheets are

You can, but you don't *have* to. If you work in the spreadsheet, and

warned that it contains links to data from external sources, and asks if
you want that data updated to reflect any changes that have occurred.

Those sites that ask you to enter/create security details aren't hosted

Once you've set up security details with SagePay (for example) that's

Yes, I saved and re-opened the file without issue.

My font size does not readjust after i clcik back in so i can't test
the parameters of this but it seems like a bug to me.

That depends. If the OP is setting point size w/o any text selection
and clicking back into the document, I'm not surprised that font
settings are, seemingly, lost. Why? Because I find it's very hard to
click in exactly the right spot to hit the cursor at the new font size
delimiting point. However, extracting the content.xml part of the
saved .odt file shows that the font and size are set, but contain no
text. At least, that's what I think it's showing.

Hello Peter,

I can't see what you mean about having to squeeze an extra row
(column?) onto the page. You have the same number of columsn whether
you start at 31 or 1.

Consider a 31 day month starting on Friday. It will end up looking like
this;

Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday
1 2
 3 456 7 8 9
10 11 12 13 1415 16
17 18 19 20 2122 23
24 25 26 37 2829 30
31

Note that this takes six rows for the dates, but if the 31 is added at
the top row, you only need five rows;

Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday
31 1 2
 3 456 7 8 9
10 11 12 13 1415 16
17 18 19 20 2122 23
24 25 26 37 2829 30

This increases the space available to users to write info, appointments
etc. in each day, assuming each row is expanded slightly to fill the
page. Admittedly, this might be of limited usefulness for a
spreadsheet, but if the data gets printed to a sheet of paper, the extra
space for each day's box often proves useful.

It seems to me that the OP was worried about the layout unnecessarily,
as the sheet's design must have taken the date ordering into account for
performing any calculations.

Of course, given that the original post was in a language I don't read,
I may have missed some of the subtleties of that post as a result of
working only from Tom's translation.

Hello Daniel,

Press okand LO crashesany ideas or is it a bug ?

You have to copy the url from the browser window into the text string
field before you click OK. It's not clear (to me) that you're doing
that.

Anyhow, it works here with LO 4.0.3.3 in Debian testing. I even tried
it with your chosen theme. LO froze whilst downloading the theme, but
I'd expect that to happen.

Hello Tom,

I don't mind getting 2 copies of so many emails.  After clearing 20
emails i feel better than after clearing just 10 and almost
double-clicking the delete key is not really tough for me.  I know it
does infuriate some other people though.

Not infuriate, but it is a mild annoyance. As an example; if you were
having a chat in bar with a stranger and they followed you home and,
after you'd gone indoors, knocked on your door to repeat, verbatim,
everything said in the bar, you'd think that person a bit odd at the
very least.

Hello Sharon,

This appears to have been removed from the main mailing list with no

I'm not a moderator, but took a look at the archives; Your request
for help is still there.

Could it be that you've simply not seen the message echoed back to you?

Hello Johnny,

Maybe I should just get used to ALWAYS ”Reply To All”, no matter what

Alternatively, use an MUA that allows you to set optimal reply methods on
