Thanks everyone for opening up a dialogue about changing the time some. I
am open for anytime after 10am. My personal work schedule Friday by 9 is
kind of rough at the moment. So if the day has to be Friday. Can we move
the time later in the day so we can have Joel involved with the call. He
has been a huge voice for the QA team. I would not want to take him away
from this project. I am willing to work along his schedule. Between noon
and 5pm eat will work perfectly for me..

Ian ,

The error means your columns should be listed on line 1 or the column count
does not match the columns within the database. This does not sound like a
LibreO issue but a issue between your CSV files and Mysql.

CPU Cycles is the process the processor takes to complete a command.
Multiple cores came about due to the current CPU overheating above 4GHZ .
So they started adding more cores to the existing processors to give you
more cpu threads to process commands. So in theory you can have a 3GHZ CPU
with dual cores (2 central processing units) to get the result of a 6ghz
processor.

You are correct, the 4GB limit was imposed by the operating system . 64bit
has been around for years, I believe someone else mention this on the
thread, its not new and unix/linux has been using it.

"If you imagine wires or cables as lanes on a motorway then double the
number of lanes can carry double the number of cars. It's just that you
don't always need to have that many cars on a section of motorway. "

I like that ,

I successfully installed Libreoffice 3.6.3 on windows 8 64bit without any
problems. Works pretty fast considering this system has 8GB of ram in it.

Still a huge Linux fan , but I have to know windows for my clients.

Since Libreoffice is a Office product . I don't believe you will see a big
differential in performance as a user . From a programmer view , you can
take advantage of the cpu cycles and memory usage with a 64bit system.

windows 8 is pretty much the same as windows 7 with everything moved

Most of the system on the market are 64bit . since 32bit can run in a
64bit environment I dont see the rush to change the application code to run
under 64bit. keep in mind i am not saying Libreoffice should not or will
not.

there is a high amount of user running Libreoffice under Windows.

You will need to sign into the wiki and add your name to the list on the
page
https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/QA/QA_Team#QA_Team_volunteers_in_alphabetic_order

Once you have done this , please open the Google Docs spreadsheet and
select a tab to add your name to it. I recommend using Google Chrome to
access the google docs page

hope this helps

Check out http://support.apple.com/kb/TS2291

I am unable to tell you the path to the calc executable on a mac. maybe
someone else could assist you with that portion.

Re: [libreoffice-users] Re: Opening Files in Writer

2012-09-12 Thread Mas
I confirmed this is a bug with Writer 3.6 and 3.6.1 . A bug ticket has been
opened under
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=54827

Feel free to add your name to the cc list to be updated once the issue has
been resolved.

Thanks for bringing this up.

Re: [libreoffice-users] Re: Opening Files in Writer

2012-09-12 Thread Mas
I went to my dual boot system and attempted to duplicate the issue under
version 3.5.
When I attempted to open a ntfs file the file manager in Ubuntu automount
the partition without any problem. The file also loaded. Now to compare
apples to apples I am going to force upgrade my version to the latest
libreoffice version 3.6 . I will report back shortly

Re: [libreoffice-users] Opening Files in Writer

2012-09-11 Thread Mas
This is a delay in ubuntu mounting the filesystem. Writer is closing
because the application is unable to open the file. Then when you try the
second time, Ubuntu has mounted the FS, you can actually change your
settings in Ubuntu to automatically mount the filesystem during boot. This
is not a bug with Writer but a system configuration issue. You may find
some information on how to auto mount via Ubuntu help forums or wiki.

Re: [libreoffice-users] how i can rotate print like landscape?

2012-09-04 Thread Mas
This does not sound like a problem with Libreoffice , but your printer
drivers. Try printing from another application installed on the system.

Also there is already a forum that was set-up as a temporary measure

The owner might be very willing to upgrade it to a different system and open
it for more people to be administrators.

I like the forum idea over the askbot option . the forum at

You are correct. The email is being rejected by the receiving server.
If you can provide the header information . I will see if this can be
checked at the server level by a admin that has server access.
