[libreoffice-users] Re: Libreoffice Base
Hi Jonathan, Thank you for your reply. I am using Libreoffice on Microsoft Windows 10 and always update Libreoffice when one becomes available. I have seen comments that say Java can be a problem, if you moved over to Firebird does this remove Java. These are questions being raised by someone who loves to experiment but does not have a clue when it comes to programming, I leave that to the experts. If I continue to develop my database(s) and a change from HSQLdb to Firebird takes place what effect might that have? [libreoffice-users] Libreoffice Base
1. Is Base being supported or is it dead in the water. I have read some comments in the forums and wonder. I am trying to assemble a small database but wonder should I continue if it is not being supported. I actually enjoy working with Base and only wish I was more computer literate. 2. In my database forms I have two layouts, in one both the main form and sub form use the third layout like a spreadsheet. In the second form the main form uses the second layout and the sub form the third layout. One of the cells is for notes which can be up to approx 500 letters. In the second form I can see all the notes in this particular cell but in the first form, spreadsheet, I can only see one line. I have multiline on and by using the up and down arrow keys I can see all the text albeit one line at a time. What do I need to do to be able to see all text at once -- View this message in context: http://nabble.documentfoundation.org/Libreoffice-Base-tp4212918.html Sent from the Users mailing list archive at Nabble.com. -- To unsubscribe e-mail to: users+unsubscr...@global.libreoffice.org Problems? http://www.libreoffice.org/get-help/mailing-lists/how-to-unsubscribe/ Posting guidelines + more: http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Netiquette List archive: http://listarchives.libreoffice.org/global/users/ All messages sent to this list will be publicly archived and cannot be deleted
[libreoffice-users] Showing two sheets of the same spreadsheet
Is it possible to show two sheets of the same spreadsheet and to edit each cell as required on both parts without going to the individual Plot and Burial Sheets. I have a spreadsheet in which one sheet, Plots, shows the details of plots in a graveyard including location, ownership, date registered etc. The other sheet, Burials, shows who has been buried in each plot. I have attached a jpeg example using Microsoft Excel but want to use "Libreoffice Calc Spreadsheet" if possible. <http://nabble.documentfoundation.org/file/n4212672/Excel_view%2C_two_sheets_shown_together.jpg> I have constructed a Libreoffice Base database but have found it to be unstable, probably my fault through inexperience. [libreoffice-users] Mail Merge from Calc spreadsheet.
I have, for many years been writing letters to several hundred people detailing their donations to various charities. Access to Microsoft Office which I used is now very restricted so I was wondering is it possible to mail merge into a Writer document information such as name, address etc and donations to various funds which are in Pounds sterling, all this is held in a Calc sheet. I know there is an address block which I do not wish to use. Many thanks in anticipation. [libreoffice-users] A simple spreadsheet to allocated Gift Aid
Dear Friends Please cancel my previous request, I have resubmitted this request with a simpler spreadsheet to explain my quest. This spreadsheet will, if successful will be used to allocate funds from around 200 people across approx. 20 charities. I am trying to construct a simple spreadsheet for the allocation of Gift Aid Refunds to different charities. My apologies for the layout of the spreadsheet, it changes from the original when I preview it. To explain:- Column A = Envelope number held by a specific person, this could also be a name. Column B = The total amount that person gave to the charity Column C = cell which confirms that the allocation to specific funds equals the total amount donated, this adds together totals in each fund column. Column D = This identifies if the person giving the donation has signed a gift aid form. If the cell is Y then the Gift Aid Refund allocation can be added to the individual funds. If the cell indicates N then the Gift aid form has not been signed therefore there will be no gift aid allocation. Cell D2 shows the Gift Aid Refund rate claimable. Columns E, G, etc. shows how the donor has asked for his donations to be allocated within the charity Columns F, H, etc.. shows the amount in Gift Aid refunds should be allocated to each fund. In the example below you will see that envelope 1 has signed a Gift Aid form and therefore his donations to funds 1 2 are increased by £12.50 each. Env. 2 has not signed the Gift Aid form, therefore no Gift aid can be claimed. Could someone please give me the formula to use to identify the amount to allocate, in cell F4 I have inserted the amount to allocated from Gift Aid without the information in D4. Perhaps someone might have a simpler way of assembling this spreadsheet, if so I would be very grateful. Gift Aid Refund 25.00% Fund 1 Fund 2 Env No. Donation Total Allocated Gift Aid ? Fund 1 Gift Aid Fund 2 Gift Aid 1£100.00 £100.00 Y£50.00 £12.50 £50.00 £12.50 2 £125.00 £125.00 N£100.00 £25.00 3 £0.00 4 £0.00 5 £0.00 -- View this message in context: http://nabble.documentfoundation.org/A-simple-spreadsheet-to-allocated-Gift-Aid-tp4040351.html Sent from the Users mailing list archive at Nabble.com. -- For unsubscribe instructions e-mail to: users+h...@global.libreoffice.org Problems? http://www.libreoffice.org/get-help/mailing-lists/how-to-unsubscribe/ Posting guidelines + more: http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Netiquette List archive: http://listarchives.libreoffice.org/global/users/ All messages sent to this list will be publicly archived and cannot be deleted
[libreoffice-users] Re: Attaching Dimension Lines in Draw
Regina Thank you very for your prompt response, it works just as you said. So simple when you know how. I am now working quite successfully with Libreoffice, however in Draw I cannot attach dimension lines to objects in scaled drawings. This means that if I make adjustments to objects on the drawing the dimensions do not automatically adjust. It is probably something quite simple that I have to do, I only wish I knew what it was. I have tried to work with glue but to no avail. The dimension lines in Draw have no glue feature. But for first drawing you can enable Snap to Object Points. When the dimension line is drawn, you can group the object and its dimension line. Then a scaling will work on both together and the numbers on the dimension line will adapt to the new length automatically. [libreoffice-users] Re: Changing data on a chart
To Mark Jan Mark Thank you for your comments, I had originally thought of a database, however, in my experience I have never seen charts similar to those on my document. Is this possible? With regard to Jays solution, I need all the data on page 1 as I have two different charts, the pie chart requires all data whereas the bar chart only requires the data which I want to use. One of my problems is that if I disregard the date rows from Dec 2008 to Dec 2009 I also lose the column headings. [libreoffice-users] Changing date on a chart
Dear All I am responsible for the assembly of the attached “Fund Progress Dec 2011” spreadsheet. Everything has gone fine up to now, however I will shortly want to amend the “Monthly Income Bank Interest Paid” chart by covering income etc. from January 2010 forward. Obviously I would wish to retain the data on “sheet 1”. I have tried amending the data ranges but rather than just removing the data from Dec 2008 to Dec 2009 all other things happen. I am sure someone out there has a very simple explanation what I should do next, I would be very thankful for your help.
