To clarify ...

I have a spreadsheet of 5 tabs called 'word-count-antonine.ods' which I would
like to use as
a word-count template for future books that I intend to write. WCA starts at
Saturday July 28 2018
with initial word counts which are then updated manually whenever I do more
writing.

I would like to have this as a template with blank cells except they have kept
the functions from
the original spreadsheet, so that I can start with a new date and work onwards
from there and show
exactly the same information as in my original spreadsheet, but the new one is
now named for another
project.

I have saved the WCA spreadsheet as a template, but it is still showing exactly
the same information in each cell as the original one was, whereas I was hoping
that the functions would remain but the cells appear blank.

Does my original question make sense now please?

Thanks
Sharon.

[libreoffice-users] auto-spell checking not working on a fresh install.

2013-05-29 Thread Sharon Kimble
On a fresh install of libreoffice 4.0.3.3 on Debian 7, its lost the ability
to check my spelling as I type. I've looked at all the tick boxes that seem
relevant but it seems to be turned on but not working.

This particular download of libreoffice worked on an upgrade from
the previous version on Debian 7 before I re-installed, so I don't know
what the problem is.

Can anyone advise and help get it working properly please?

Thanks
Sharon.

[libreoffice-users] To the moderators

2013-05-29 Thread Sharon Kimble
At 1253 today I sent a email to the list under the heading of '
auto-spell checking not working on a fresh install.'
asking for help with Libreoffice 4.0.3.3.

This appears to have been removed from the main mailing list with no reason
given. Why please? It was a genuine request for help with an ongoing
problem that I have.

I look forward to your reply.

[libreoffice-users] 3.6.4.3 and Wheezy.

2012-12-06 Thread Sharon Kimble
I've just installed LibreOffice 3.6.4.3 onto Debian Wheezy [aka
testing] and it works but keeps the Debian LibreOffice as well. This is
the error report when trying to install 'desktop-integration'
##

This means that there are no menu items for it and so have to be
created using 'alacarte' with the shortcuts going
to /opt/libreoffice3.6/program/swriter , but then it works like a
charm! :)

However, i have not needed to update the Debian LibreOffice yet so I’m
unsure what will happen then. This is more of an update with regard to
the next version of Debian which is currently in testing, and may well
be released as 'stable' in quarter 1 of 2013, but that’s just my
guesstimate.

Thanks
Sharon.

Re: [libreoffice-users] lo 3.5.5

2012-07-15 Thread Sharon Kimble
Thanks Jay, I was able to completely remove it with synaptic, which
I've never used before.

However, on re installation, properly this time, I've only got menu
shortcuts for calc, impress, and printer administration, so there
appears to be some bug still in the debian-menus-desktop-integration
which is not populating the menu properly in squeeze.

However, its now up and running nicely, thanks.

Sharon.

You might try using Synaptic to remove then reinstall or sudo apt-get
remove libreoffice. I am not sure of the exact name(s) you need to use
for apt so I tend to use Synaptic.

I have 28gbs spare on the hard drive, and that includes the trash can
which has a few things in it yet to be deleted fully. Its all one big
partition, / and /home all together so there is not an overfilled
drive.

If someone can tell me where to find my libreoffice profile then I'll
delete it because thats where the problem lies I think. If it can be
run as root or sudo but not as /user then that sounds like the users
profile is corrupted somehow. So if some kind soul can point it out to
me then i'll delete it. And I still haven't got any menu items for it.

Other than that , if it still doesn’t work then its back to 3.5.2 for
me as I need it for various things and its got to work, and that
version does work.

Thanks

If someone can tell me where to find my libreoffice profile then I'll
delete it because thats where the problem lies I think. If it can be
run as root or sudo but not as /user then that sounds like the users
profile is corrupted somehow. So if some kind soul can point it out to
me then i'll delete it. And I still haven't got any menu items for it.

Other than that , if it still doesn’t work then its back to 3.5.2 for
me as I need it for various things and its got to work, and that
 version does work.

 Thanks
 Sharon.

Right, I've now downloaded it with the torrent files to see if I had a
corrupt downloaded file and then installed it more or less the same as
you Don. And it still doesn’t open up and neither do I have any menu
options or icons. That gives a total of 3 downloads and installs, and
 it still fails :(

 1) Shut down LO completely (including any quickstarter if your are on
 Windows).

 2) Rename your LO user configuration profile directory to something
else, then restart LO to see if that solves the problem.

I tried this and it made no difference, still no 'recent documents' :(

[libreoffice-users] SOLVED- lack of recent documents

2012-03-18 Thread Sharon Kimble
I renamed the /libreoffice folder as already suggested, which made no
difference except when I restarted libreoffice all my setup was still
the same. But when checking my paths I noticed that several items had
config files under /.config, so I looked in there and found a
./config/libreoffice folder. So I renamed that too and restarted
libreoffice, and then had to setup my paths again, and on checking, my
'recent documents' menu entry works. Brilliant!

Thanks to all those who responded, both my showstoppers have now been
sorted out, lovely jubbly!

[libreoffice-users] lack of recent documents

2012-03-16 Thread Sharon Kimble
I've just installed LibreOffice 3.5.1 and autospellcheck is working
well, but I have no documents appearing in the 'Recent documents' box.
Does anyone know how to get it working please?

I tried installing the 'HistoryMaster' extension to see if that would
improve things, but all it did was to slow down all menu operations,
which when i'd uninstalled it they recovered their original speed. So
I would say that the HistoryMaster extension is not compatible with
3.5.1

Thanks

[libreoffice-users] Downgrading

2012-02-21 Thread sharon kimble
I have downgraded my LO program from 3.5.0 to 3.4.5, as the lack of
autospellcheck and recent documents in 3.5.0 were real show stoppers, and not
being able to find any workarounds.

I feel that 3.5.0 was released either with inadequate testing, or before it
was ready for release. No matter, its no longer a problem for me.

Thank you for the experience, and all those who suggested workarounds.

Follow this path and tell me what you have in your LO: Format
Character Font (the Font tab). In the Language part of the dialog,
there is a drop down list. It should contain English (GB) which is what
you should select. It probably has USA instead. If I'm right change the
value. See if this will get the autospellcheck to work.

It shows English (UK).

In the Styles and Formatting window (use F11 key to open this
window), set the Default paragraph style to use English (GB) as the
default language. This should also work.
 --Dan

I've tried modifying the language of the default style at the F11 key, and the
language is still at English (UK).

Sorry, autospellcheck is still unresolved and not working.
