[libreoffice-users] Re: XML import with xslt filter

2018-12-19 Thread steveedmonds
Found a machine with LO 6.0.5... which works correctly, so this seems a bug
in 6.1 which I have filed.

[libreoffice-users] Save As bug

2015-12-17 Thread steveedmonds
Hi.
I have noticed a bug in Save As from writer, long standing.
I know the reason for what is happening, but not sure if fixed in the 5
series (I am still on 4). If you open the below file and click Save As I
have the file name curtailed to TN16 in the dialogue, LO does not pass the
whole file name to the Save As dialogue.
TN16.779SoftwareConfigurationofAzureSeriesInstruments

If this bug could be verified in the 5 series I will file a bug report.

Observed in Opensuse 13.2

[libreoffice-users] Re: Images stop displaying after TOC update

2015-09-13 Thread steveedmonds
The images that disappear are anchored "as character". If I change them to
"anchor to paragraph, wrap through" they no longer stop displaying.

[libreoffice-users] Images stop displaying after TOC update

2015-09-13 Thread steveedmonds
I have a document where images in a table stop displaying after a TOC update.
Can't find a bug related to this.
If I adjust the table row height the images display again.
LO Version: 4.3.7.2 Build ID: 430m0(Build:2) Opensuse on Linux
It doesn't do this on 4.1.6.2 on Win 7.
It does do it on 4.3.7.2 on mac. Yosemite.
It does do it on 4.4.5.2 on win 7.

I don't know if it is a regression requiring a bug or already resolved.

Attached (via nabble) file and before/after pdfs. (and yes, I have yet to
resize my images)

[libreoffice-users] Re: VLOOKUP adapting to changes

2013-05-21 Thread steveedmonds

Hi.
I have been using VLOOKUP recently and notice that if I insert a column
in the lookup range that the insertion is not reflected in VLOOKUP
parameters. Should it in the same way that SUM does.
i.e. just by example I have a range A1:B25 and use
=VLOOKUP(A30,A1:B25,2,0) to return the price (in B) for an item (in A).
I suddenly realise I need to include a column for the currency of B so I
insert a colum before B and I need to manually alter all my formulae to
=VLOOKUP(A30,A1:C25,3,0). I can insert extra rows and the range extends
in the formula, just not extra columns.
LO 3.6

Steve

Solved this with =VLOOKUP(A21,$A$1:$B$25,COLUMN($B$1),0) or more flexibly
=VLOOKUP(A21,$A$1:$B$25,COLUMN($B$1)-COLUMN($A$1)+1,0)

[libreoffice-users] Re: Bug with data validating

2013-05-21 Thread steveedmonds
steveedmonds wrote
 Hi.
I have found a bug in LO3.6 with data validating. If someone would be
kind enough to check if it is resolved in LO4 before I file a bug report
 and a feature request.

 Bug
To replicate create some data to be the validate list such as
 A1 = cat
 A2 = dog
 A3 = cat2

Now in a cell (A5) enter cat2 and DataValidity validation from the list
A1:A3. In error have Stop and a message, say invalid value.
Try to type mouse into the cell, an error message arrives.
Click on the cell and drag the + down to copy down. cat2 auto increments
to cat3 and the data is not checked for validity.
Contents pasted into a cell with validity checking are also not checked.

 Feature.
Google sheets marks cells with invalid data with a red corner and error
message. This would be great in LO also

Also, using past special with format allows you to paste data validation to
cells without changing the value (really good) but doesn't validate data
whether it is complying.

[libreoffice-users] Re: brochure templates for letter and A4 sizes

2013-02-21 Thread steveedmonds

They use a page margin of 0.4 inches and a 0.8 inch margin between
columns, so each of the 3 panels will have a 0.4 inch margin around
them. This works as long as you make sure there is no printer option
active that shrinks to fit page, or similar.

The margin of 0.4 inches work well for the hand folding of these 3
column/panel brochure/flier. I have made many brochures over the past
year with LO using this margin setup. It might work for you.

use, or at least the letter size one.

Hi.
I also add a fine tick line a couple of mm (1/8) long right at the edge of
the paper in the centre of each column break, top and bottom, as folding
guides. Really fine and if necessary gray so they can just be seen.

Thanks, problem must be fixed.
I could save it as docx but the formatting was scrambled. Saving as .doc
just crashed LO.
