Hi :) Errr, when you are at the top of a column and don't know how far down it goes you can always use Ctrl down-arrow to get to the bottom, or at least the first break. Being fairly paranoid i do Ctrl and down-arrow again just to make sure the list doesn't resume after a short break of a few empty cells. If it does i get to the top of the new start. If you also press the shift key while doing that it selects all the cells between the start and where-ever you have ended-up so far. Just shift and down-arrow adds one more cell to your selection. Shift and up-arrow takes the last cell off. So, as long as you avoid taking your finger off the shift key you can rapidly select quite a messy column even if it has tons of breaks in it. [libreoffice-users] Base Form behavior.
Hi, I've been composing an LO Base application using Mariano Casanova's excellent tutorial (written for OO Base) as a guide and I'm pleased with the progress I've been able to make thus far. I have observed some strange behavior, however, when using the triangular widgets in the navigation bar at the bottom of the forms. For example, when I open a form which maintains tables currently containing 201 records, the navigation bar indicates 1 of 41 records. As I click my way toward the end of the file using the next record widget when I get to record 42 the display reads 42 of 81 records. However, if I click on the widget for the last record, the form displays the data for the last record and correctly shows 201 of 201 records. Returning to the first record via the start of file widget results in proper behavior. The navigation bar then shows 1 of 201 records and thereafter, when moving back and forth through the records everything works properly. I'm running LO Base 3.5 on a Windows 7 machine. I observed the same behavior on OO Base and just downloaded LO 3,6 on another Win 7 machine with the same result. Is this a bug? Has anyone noticed this type of behavior ? Base seems to start out handling records in increments of about 40 records until it finds the end of the file. Strange.
