Re: [libreoffice-users] Changing data in a MySQL-table using Base

Hi :)
Superb!! :) If you have fixed it and can update the bug-report to make it
clearer what the specific problem is then that is a good win all around :)

Tom :)

Thanks, Tom.
Like I mentioned earlier on, I also use 3.3.3 in parallel under Windows/Vista
and
don't have any real problems in that environment. By the way, I also just tried
to
use JDBC for connecting to BASE under Debian - the error of not being able to
update
a tuple does NOT occur then. So, I suppose this is an ODBC-connector problem.

Heinrich

Re: [libreoffice-users] Changing data in a MySQL-table using Base

2011-08-03 Thread Tom Davies
Hi :)
In the longer term the situation might change but in the short to mid-term it's
going nowhere. If it works tolerably well then stick with it but explore other
options. It is good to post bug-reports especially if they are small
bite-sized
potentially "easy hacks" as a lot of those might entice people to have a go.

Regards from
Tom :)

Hi Tom,
Looks like this might be the only choice in the mid/long term. It's a real pity,
however. I have to write reports based on tables in my database quite often and
have defined numerous reports using the Report Writer (I hope that THAT piece
of software will be with us for a while yet!!). Of course I can re-define the
reports on the basis of a csv-file imported to the writer, but this is
definitely
more work, not an advertisement for LO and not ideal by any means.
Regarding using a different front-end, I will have a look at programs such as
phpMyAdmin - again, in my mind !no comparison!
Thanks
H.S.
