I've been enjoying a Dickens of a time trying to get it to sync with my PC so I can transfer a video file *from* the tablet to the PC. [snip] This question would be better-posted to an Android forum, such as androidcentral.com, androidtablets.net or androidforums.com, IMO. That being said: I have a Samsung Galaxy Tab 2. I've transferred files between my three Android devices and my computers in each of the following ways: USB connection. Tablet or phone looks to the computer like a USB file system. You may have to go into Settings (on my Samsung tablet it's Settings - Storage - USB computer connection) to set the connection type. (I'm not running Samsung's broken Android implementation, anymore, either.) MicroSD card. 8GB microSD cards are both as cheap and as common as dirt. SMB (aka: Microsoft Windows file sharing), using ES File Explorer on the Android device, with the directory on the computer side shared to the LAN. Via DropBox. Copy/move the file(2) to/from DropBox on one device, and the same on another. On the computer side you can use a web interface or DropBox' software. I also once used VXConnectBot's built-in file transfer capability, when I was logged-in to a machine at work from my tablet. (VXConnectBot is an SSH application for Android). Btw: Android devices don't sync with a PC or other device like, for example, PalmOS devices used to. (And more's the shame, IMO.) You can get a connection, and manually shuffle files back and forth, but there's no syncing, per se. I believe there are some apps that have syncing ability, but not the entire device. Good luck and HTH. Regards, Jim -- Note: My mail server employs *very* aggressive anti-spam filtering. I use an app AndSMB and copy over wifi. Share a directory on your PC and then you should be able to copy back and forth. I think ES file explorer will even do this too to a share. I use a different app (foldersync) to sync or move many files. . I don't have a Samsung tablet, but I do have a couple of Android devices. I have a couple of methods I use to transfer files. First, just connecting to my computer via a USB cable opens up the tablet so I can copy or move files. I also use an app called ES File Explorer, which allows me to access computer file shares via WiFi. Both methods work well. -- To unsubscribe e-mail to: users+unsubscr...@global.libreoffice.org Problems? http://www.libreoffice.org/get-help/mailing-lists/how-to-unsubscribe/ Posting guidelines + more: http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Netiquette List archive: http://listarchives.libreoffice.org/global/users/ All messages sent to this list will be publicly archived and cannot be deleted

I don't know what ssh is? Or where to find it? you've gotten some good answers. (also I meant a micro sd card, you do need the little adapter, we're assuming you have the slot for microcards in your laptop). I don't think ssh is hard to use and there are plenty ssh programs in Android but I should have said sshfs which allows you to make a folder on an remote computer show up as a folder on the local. but the other suggestions may well easier, I don't know, I assume (!) it is easy to set sshfs up in Windows. sometimes directly connecting via usb cable is dead simple, sometimes you have to install some special drivers, mtp I think it's called. now you know there are many effective ways to transfer files.
