SQLBox Question

In the sms-service we have a directive 'name', 'keyword-regex',
'aliases'. How to grab this value with SQLBox and store it as service in
the database? TIA

Alejandro,
Many thanks for the reply and I am looking forward for the patch. BTW,
if it is possible please also grab Kannel's internal message ID into
your patch. It will be very helpful for other users also I guess ;)

"What's this? Trix? Aunt! Trix? You? You're after the prize! What is
it?" He picked up the box and studied the back. "A glow-in-the-dark
squid! Have you got it out of there yet?" He tilted the box, angling the
little colored balls of cereal so as to see the bottom, and nearly
spilling them onto the table top. "Here it is!" He hauled out a little
cream-colored, glitter-sprinkled squid, three-inches long and made out
of rubbery plastic. -- James P. Blaylock, "The Last Coin"

Willy,

The SMSC message id issue was not a limitation on SQLBox, but on Kannel
itself. It was fixed on CVS a few weeks ago.

SQLBox is still lacking the extra field needed to carry the info, I'll
fix that as soon as I settle up (I've recently moved to Barcelona and
I'm still a little overwhelmed :P).

The connection sequence is bearerbox-sqlbox-smsbox. When you send a MT
response from a sms-service reply, it will get stored in SQL box's
sent sms table. I fact, all MO' and MT's passed through this model
will get stored by SQL box. It may be used as a simple CDR solution.

SQLBox Question

2008-11-19 Thread sangprabv
Hi,
I read some threads in the archives about how to reply MT using SQLBox.
AFAIK it can be done by injecting manually the MT to the send table.
What I confuse here is, what about if the MT is expected as the HTTP
Response. How does SQLBox treat and serve this? And does the sequence is
bearerbox-sqlbox-smsbox? Or bearerbox-smsbox-sqlbox? How to configure
the latter? TIA.

Yep. You'll have to fill relevant fields. After sending the row will be
moved to sent_sms.

SQLBox Question and Performance

2007-04-26 Thread sangprabv
Hi,
I am a new user of great Kannel SQLBox, but I have some problem when integrate
it with Kannel. I have configured the kannel and sqlbox configuration (referred
to this thread http://www.mail-archive.com/users@kannel.org/msg08736.html) and
daemonized them, everything is ok here. And when I try to manually insert a
record to the send_sms table the SQLBox sucessfully detect it and it moved to
sent_sms, the problem is why it doesn't sent actually send the SMS? I check
kannel's logfile and there is no SMS sent. And the other problem is, after
sometime (maybe it's about a minute) the SQLBox suddenly stop by itself and I
must restart it manually, what's the problem here? Is it caused by miss
configuration? The other question is it's performance, is it stable to handle
thousand SMS/minute or millions SMS/day? Please guide me how to configure this
great SQLBox and tuning it to be able to handle high load SMS traffic. Many
thanks for your kind help and support.

Regards

Willy

This is because smsbox is not connected to sqlbox. Attach your last

RE: SQLBOX question

2006-05-10 Thread Rene Kluwen
The sent_sms and send_sms tables are NOT used by any other module but sqlbox
itself.
If you want to send messages by sqlbox, you will have to manually insert
them in the send_sms table.

The sent_sms table is used (indeed) to store outgoing & incoming messages as
well as DLR's.
This is just a "log".

The smsbox_list empty! error message can possibly be fixed by an
smsbox-route section in your kannel.conf.

Thanks for the prompt answer!

I read the sqlbox FAQ but my understanding was that sqlbox sits in the
middle so that bearerbox and smsbox don't see each other. What confuses me
is sqlbox insert table. It is supposed to contain messages (MO/MT) not yet
processed by their destination handlers (bearerbox for MT, smsbox for MO).
So I realized that having beaerbox running with sqlbox connected to it would
accumulate MO messages until smsbox is started.

Is sqlbox insert table used only for manual inserts? E.g. if I want to
bypass http sendsms and insert sms directly into insert table? Does smsbox
use insert table? Does bearerbox?

NGC

yes, there is an understanding problem.

from sqlbox FAQ:

Q.
Does sqlbox replace sms box or is It an additional module that must be run?

A.
sqlbox is an additional module. You now have to start kannel in the
following manner:

1st: bearerbox
2nd: sqlbox
3rd: smsbox and wapbox

A picture of the new situation (with sqlbox included is as follows):

http request <--> [ smsbox ] <--> [ sqlbox ] <--> [ bearerbox ] <--> sms
gateway

I hope this picture make things clear. In text: sqlbox is sitting in
between smsbox and bearerbox, passing all messages back and forth
between the two. As a side-effect, also the messages that are passed
back and forth are logged in the sent_sms table.

SMS routing can't be done without SMSBOX.

SQLBOX question

2006-05-09 Thread Nikola Goran Cutura

Hi all,

I have bearerbox running and connected to SMSCs. I
have sqlbox running. I have NO smsbox running. I expect that in this
configuration, sqlbox stores all incoming messages. However, when I send a
message from smsc to bearerbox, I get warning:

WARNING: smsbox_list empty!

and NO message is inserted in sqlbox
table.

Do I have wrong expectations or wrong
configuration?

My configuration is attached. It is customized
sample that comes with Kannel.

Re: SQLBOX question

2005-04-04 Thread Catalin Trifu
Hi,

Basically SQLBOX watches the send_sms table for changes and when some row
is inserted into that table it will inject the message into the bearerbox.
All you have to do to send a message is to insert a row into that table
and SQLBOX does the rest.
   However; some time ago there was a problem with binary messages (with UDH);
I don't know if it's fixed or not.

Hello,

I'm using kannel with sqlbox. I well understand the table sent_sms but I
don't have any documentation regarding send_sms table. Do someone could
please give me some information and example to use it ?
