Change the server from imap.zoho.com to imappro.zoho.com. That fixed up my similar issue on thunderbird, apple mail, and iOS. I can recommend Claws-mail (https://claws-mail.org/) which works very nicely and Fedora has 4.x branch with modern version of Fancy plugin rendering HTML messages when needed. For my contacts & calendars I use Evolution (although Thunderbird could do the job a well) and they are synced with my Android phones (via DAVx) app and Baikal server which I host on my own. From time to time, I export e.g. CardDav addressbook from Evolution as *.vcf files and connect it with the Claws in order to have my contacts available in Claws' completion. As a possible workaround, I saw on another report about this issue with Zoho that taking Thunderbird offline and then back online works without restarting. It seems that something is going wrong with the connection. In the Server Settings for the account, try unchecking the "Allow immediate server notifications". I think that should disable "push" which is a potential problem area.
