openshift-ansible release-3.10 - Install fails with control plane pods

2018-08-29 Thread Marc Schlegel
Hello everyone

I am having trouble getting a working Origin 3.10 installation using the
openshift-ansible installer. My install always fails because the control pane
pods are not available. I've checkout the release-3.10 branch from
openshift-ansible and configured the inventory accordingly

I am using Vagrant to setup a local domain (vnet.de) which also includes a
dnsmasq-node to have full control over the dns. The following VMs are running
and DNS ans SSH works as expected

Hostname IP
domain.vnet.de 192.168.60.100
master.vnet.de192.168.60.150 (dns also works for openshift.vnet.de which is
configured as openshift_master_cluster_public_hostname) also runs etcd
infra.vnet.de192.168.60.151 (openshift_master_default_subdomain
wildcard points to this node)
app1.vnet.de192.168.60.152
app2.vnet.de192.168.60.153

When connecting to the master-node I can see that several docker-instances are
up and running

[vagrant@master ~]$ sudo docker ps

However, there is no port 8443 open on the master-node. No wonder the
ansible-installer complains.

The machines are using a plain Centos 7.5 and I've run the
openshift-ansible/playbooks/prerequisites.yml first and then
openshift-ansible/playbooks/deploy_cluster.yml.
I've double-checked the installation documentation and my Vagrant config...all
looks correct.

Any ideas/advice?
regards
Marc

Re:What is the most current OpenShift on OpenStack playbooks?

I think this might be what you’re looking for?
https://github.com/openshift/openshift-ansible/tree/master/playbooks/openstack

It’s requires an existing openstack but will deploy all the nodes and resources
via ansible.

Hi,

I just wanted to find out if

https://na01.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fgithub.com%2Fopenshift%2Fopenshift-ansible-contrib%2Ftree%2Fmaster%2Fplaybooks%2Fprovisioning%2Fopenstackdata=01%7C01%7Ctodd_walters%40unigroup.com%7Cf80d79181464408282ee08d60dc87fb7%7C259bdc2f86d3477b8cb34eee64289142%7C1sdata=6xbH3%2FP0WYQwJvspyW5tDo85%2BIsSDCf5Ub7bVrX0SZ8%3Dreserved=0
is
still the most current for deploying OpenShift on OpenStack?

I had a read of

https://na01.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Faccess.redhat.com%2Fdocumentation%2Fen-us%2Freference_architectures%2F2018%2Fhtml-single%2Fdeploying_and_managing_openshift_3.9_on_red_hat_openstack_platform_10%2Fdata=01%7C01%7Ctodd_walters%40unigroup.com%7Cf80d79181464408282ee08d60dc87fb7%7C259bdc2f86d3477b8cb34eee64289142%7C1sdata=9iCNw8vZDXqbnMN48kTzRbVinh8CpR08vzE%2B6O5wkcs%3Dreserved=0
but
it doesn't appear to use Ansible for the OpenStack infrastructure
configuration, but rather it is done by hand.

Is there an equivalent of the AMI approach for OpenShift nodes, ie:

https://na01.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fgithub.com%2Fopenshift%2Fopenshift-ansible%2Ftree%2Fmaster%2Fplaybooks%2Fawsdata=01%7C01%7Ctodd_walters%40unigroup.com%7Cf80d79181464408282ee08d60dc87fb7%7C259bdc2f86d3477b8cb34eee64289142%7C1sdata=URRYA%2FAZrsHt8Yh7xiAAePvKeupIMWNE8%2F5Nsj61hjc%3Dreserved=0
 ?

Or is that something I'd need to do myself if I wanted such a thing?

Thanks,

Joel

RE: 3.10 experiences

2018-08-29 Thread François VILLAIN
Some docker images (metrics for example, but not only) have not been built /
tagged for v3.10.0 that is used when doing an install in 3.10 and some part of
this install fails ... this is very annoying.

Seems more stable than v3.9 installer though

Hi

We're currently running a RH Openshift container platform version 3.7, and are
considering
upgrading to 3.10. What are your experiences with upgrading 3.7 -> 3.10? Any
problems/issues
to consider, or good-to-knows?

What's the quality with 3.10 as such?
