Hi This is easly solved using filters and profiles. Define your environment specific variables in your filter and subsitute that into your log4j file. That's, IMHO, a general Java rule so I won't go into that any further but I wanted to mention that. The, I think you should solve your issue by configuring the resources plugin in to only include the right log4j files. I would set up my pom so that the prod file is being used. And then create a profile for development use where the dev log4j file is being used instead. Regarding deleting the already existing files in the output folder, one could argue that that should be taken care of by executing mvn clean. Here's how you configure the resources plugin to include/exclude: http://maven.apache.org/plugins/maven-resources-plugin/examples/includ e-excl ude.htmlhttp://maven.apache.org/plugins/maven-resources-plugin/exampl es/include-excl%0Aude.html What's going on in your current case is that the resources plugin will copy all log4j files. The resources plugin is bound to the lifecycle by default (for a jar project for instance). That's why you see all log4j (actually all files in the resources folder) end up in the output directory. /Anders On Fri, Nov 13, 2009 at 08:04, Exposito Aguilera, Francisco francisco.expos...@es.issworld.com wrote: My pom.xml file has two profiles which must delete and copy files in a place. RE: maven2 websphere plugin
Hi The Maven websphere plugin is based on the WAS ant tasks - The advantage is that you do not need to mess around with this stuff your self since it is handled for you. It will generate ejb jar files, start/stop the server, Install/Uninstall/list applications etc. Hermod -Original Message- From: Rémy Sanlaville [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Monday, February 19, 2007 10:21 AM To: Maven Users List Subject: Re: maven2 websphere plugin Hi Marco, shame on me... i didnt follow links as i did need plugin at that time... well, then your best bet is to go with WAS-specific ant task, call them from maven-antrun plugin a friend of mine (Mr Peter Pilgrim) has done some work on that.. i post here the link of his blog where he describes how to use it... http://www.jroller.com/page/peter_pilgrim In fact, It seems the best way is to use the WAS-specific ant task via maven-antrun-plugin. RE: provided dependency packaged into war
Hi Don't use provided - Use : optionaltrue/optional This will add an entry in the claspath section of the meta-inf.xml file, but not add it to the web-inf/libdirectory Hermod -Original Message- From: Ivan Strohner [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Tuesday, January 30, 2007 6:15 PM To: users@maven.apache.org Subject: provided dependency packaged into war Hello, I am packaging a war archive and list dependency in pom file: dependency groupIdjavax.servlet/groupId artifactIdjsp-api/artifactId version2.0/version scopeprovided/scope /dependency the problem is that jsp-api-2.0.jar (and also servlet-api-2.4.jar) get packaged into WEB-INF/lib even though that they are always mentioned as provided dependencies. Our project depends on multiple other our projects. One of them is another war, which gets merged into our war. Other are simple jars. jsp-api is mentioned as dependency in some of them, but always as provided. My intention is to package only our jars into WEB-INF/lib. I want to keep the third party ones in server lib. The primary project is called non_combustion. It depends on our cms_classes and cms_web projects and some others, such as dsutil_web. These depend on many other libraries, especially spring and related. Rough structure: non_combustion (war) jsp-api (provided) dsutil_web (jar) (compile) jsp-api (provided) .. cms_web (war) (compile) depends on jsp-api (provided) cms_classes (jar) (compile) .. .. I did proper clean and install of all these project into local repository. When I do mvn package -X on non_combustion I get a war file with jsp-api in WEB-INF/lib. However other libraries (such as spring) are not packaged (just as I wanted). If I search the debug output for the package command for jsp-api I get the parts below. From them it is clear that jsp-api is everywhere mentioned as provided, but in the final step it is included in the WEB-INF/lib. Could anyone help? Is this a bug? If some additional info is required I can send it (the log below is 180KB long). I am just starting with maven so I ask here first before submitting a bug report or other. Hermod -Original Message- From: Robert Langridge [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Friday, December 01, 2006 11:27 AM To: Maven Users List Subject: Maven2 Hibernate. Hi, I'm fairly new to maven and I have the task of creating an automated build for one of our hibernate projects. I have written a pom that compiles all my source and jar's it up. However when it compiles it does not copy across the .xml files of my hibernate entities or any of the .properties files. I have used the resources tag to include the hibernate.cfg.xml that sits in the base of the source directory, but the rest of the entity xml files live in a package structure. Any ideas? I have tried the following: plugin groupIdorg.apache.maven.plugins/groupId artifactIdmaven-compiler-plugin/artifactId configuration includes include**/*.xml/include include**/*.properties/include /includes /configuration /plugin When I have this includes tag it doesn't include the xml and props files and also does not compile any of my source code. Is this a bug? Or am I mis-using this tag? Cheers! RE: M2: Fatal error generating site
Hi Looking at the errormessage something strikes me: java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: Can't find a valid Maven project in the repository for the artifact [drkw-cpds-proxy-common:pr oxy-common:4.01]. Note the space between pr and oxy - Is it so in your pom or is this just the mail formatting? Hermod -Original Message- From: Orford, Ian [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Wednesday, September 13, 2006 11:11 AM To: 'Maven Users List' Subject: RE: M2: Fatal error generating site I still cant find any real clues about this. I've found some other instances of this IAE and the error message on standard public dependencies that have been treated as bugs and fixed. I'm still suspicious that the dependency in question is in the maven 1 repository, and hence there isn't a v4 pom file (the pom file is v3). However I don't understand why the site target should not support maven 1 repo's when it is supported in the rest of maven. Hi I am also struggling with the scp stuff. I am uploading a Windows box, which is running OPENSSH. If a do a commandline scp the file is deployes as i should, but when I run mvn deploy it first creates a 03 directory in the home directory, and creates the complete directory path to the repository under that directory. Why on earth is it creating the 03 directory and not just changing to the correct directory? Your mojo configuration looks ok (by eyeball inspection). The default expression of each parameter is ${name}. defaultValue will be used when expression evaluates to null. So as long as you don't configure ${name} on the mvn command line or in the plugin configuration, defaultValue is used. The parameter is marked readonly and required so I prefer to use expression to set is value. I don't want users to override this value to make the build reproduceable. It will very appreciated if you can send your anttask me. btw, you said, I need to define a path as a readonly parameter of type java.util.List and set expression to ${maven.project.classpath}, is it expression tag, or defaultValue tag. I guess the mojo should me like this, mojo goalget-classpath/goal callget-classpath/call descriptionget classpath/description parameters parameter
RE: WAS5 / WAS6 / Maven2
Hi We are currently working on an ant plugin using these, and will submit them to the community when we feel they are fit for it. The list does not seem to be searchable so I apologize if this has been covered before. Can anyone give me a short answer or point me to documentation as to why antrun is unsupported? WebSphere comes with it's own shell/batch script to set up Ant's environment and run it. If you use 'vanilla ant' to run the tasks, some will not work. Whats the consensus on Maven with WAS? Are people generally using m1 with the plugin or have folks moved on to m2? Thanks for your help. Others have posted up here about using the antrun plugin to run the was ant tasks, but this is an unsupported config for IBM. [m2] Logging level
Hi I have searched around, and I can't find any place where I can specify the logging level of Maven 2 - That is the output from maven2. Currently it is logging from INFO, but I want to turn it down to ERROR. Maven-proxy enhancement
Hi I don't know if this is the right place to report this, but here goes: Here is an enhancement for maven-provy-0.2 : When looking for the maven-proxy.properties, it only looks in the path meaning you need hardcoded paths in your web.xml file. Here is an enhancement, where it will look in the classpath if it can't find it in the path. This means you do not have wo worry about paths at all in web.xml. try { rcc = (new PropertyLoader()).load(new FileInputStream(file)); event.getServletContext().setAttribute(config, rcc); } catch (FileNotFoundException ex) { - System.err.println(No such file: + file.getAbsolutePath(); + System.err.println(No such file: + file.getAbsolutePath() + . Trying to load from classpath); + InputStream in = this.getClass().getClassLoader() + .getResourceAsStream(filename); + try { +rcc = (new PropertyLoader()).load(in); +event.getServletContext().setAttribute(config, rcc); + } catch (Exception e) { +throw new RuntimeException(e); + } } catch (Exception ex) { throw new RuntimeException(ex); } Hermod * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * This email with attachments is solely for the use of the individual or entity to whom it is addressed.
