Basically your file has been corrupted.See the following Tutorial on
the forum for suggestions to help recover all or part of the file. Also
some tips to help avoid the problem.

Are the rich text files corrupted in the same way as above? If not are
you getting any error message when you try to open them. As for the PDF
It sounds like you have the extension installed to open PDF files but I
suspect that what appears as test is actually an image that cannot be
edited.

No there is no phone number. Apache OpenOffice is an open source project

Can't open or recover file in Documents

2018-06-12 Thread Mark

Hello,
  Two problems:

   1. Yesterday when I called up a rich text file in Documents, I got gibberish
(## repeated over five pages). How can I recover the contents, which were
fine two days ago?
2. Today when I tried again, I can't even call up any rich text file.
However, I can call up PDF files, though I can't do anything to those files.

Also, is there a phone number for technical support?

Thank you,
Mark Zeligman

Might we want to offer also that Apache Open Office is very versatile and
if you like something about a Template but not other parts, you can change
and customize, create to suit! And save it as yours.

Re: Cancel subscription

2018-06-12 Thread Craig Russell
Hi Tera,

I'm not sure that you are subscribed to this list, so I'm including you
explicitly.

Your issue might be a corrupted version of OO, or a template that comes from a
commercial company not affiliated with OO, or a (cloud storage?) system also
not affiliated with OO.

Identifying the URL from where you downloaded OO and the URL from where you
downloaded the template will help us help you.

Please let us know if you need any more to resolve this.

Regards,

Craig
