Re: Help with installation

Kurt,

I have read, but not experienced, that some antivirus products affect
installation or launch of OpenOffice.

Your experience, install seems successful but programs won't launch, sounds
very much like the problem described with Windows 10 and Windows Defender
Antivirus.

To test this, turn off Windows Defender and then try and launch an
OpenOffice program. If it launches successfully then find the file
"soffice.bin" on your hard drive. Once found, modify Windows Defender
Antivirus settings to add the folder it is in to "Controlled Folder Access"
in Windows Defender Security Center.

My reference for this suggestion is here:
https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/87858-add-protected-folders-controlled-folder-access-windows-10-a.html

For the latest version of OpenOffice the soffice.bin file should be found
here...
C:\Program Files\OpenOffice 4\program\soffice.bin

Help with installation

2019-04-21 Thread kurt Potter
Hi:

I recently bought an Asus computer and am trying to install open office. It
appears that I have installed everything as the icons for writer , calc, etc
are showing but I cannot open then. Do you know what the problem might be?

Re: how to flip a picture??

In Draw, a picture can be turned right side up by:
- right-click the picture
- select "Position and Size..." from the menu
- select "Rotation" tab
- specify "Angle" to rotate

In the case of flipping it right side up it needs to be rotated 180
degrees. So specify 180 degrees and click "OK"

To do same with mouse
- click the picture twice (NOT double-click)
  - first click picture gets square green selection handles
  - once selection handles appear click again, picture gets round red
handles
- point at any corner handle, mouse pointer changes to circular arrow,
click and drag with circular arrow to rotate picture
NOTE: the handles along the sides and top, the mouse changes to parallel
lines those will shear the picture. don't click or drag them to rotate.
