You have another solution. Use post mail. Maybe the employer is older and prefer post mail. 2014/1/11 e-letter inp...@gmail.com On 10/01/2014, Gary Aitken a...@dreamchaser.org wrote: But as you point out, a pdf gets around that. If you have trouble opening it, please let me know. Newer versions of microsoft word automatically deal with it, but older versions can be updated to allow reading current versions of their own (microsoft) documents as well as world standard documents. Once a user has subscribed the content they post is sent out immediately, with no moderator review. In my personal opinion (noting that we have no policy on this point) if someone has a small tag on their posts, in the nature of Go Red Sox! or Praise Jesus or Ernest Rutherford, the New Zealand Einstein or Progressives To The Front! or I Like Tabby Cats, to express their personal identity, and this tag is not disproportionate to the length of their post, then I don't see a problem. I think it would cause more distraction and disruption than it would save, to communicate and enforce such a prohibition, especially on a list that has many one-time posts from non-subscribers. But note: there is a clear distinction between expressing pride in one's own affiliation and attacking someone else's. I hope we agree that the latter should not be permitted. Re: sending resume using open office
If you are sending out resumes, they need to be in .doc format or .pdf format. You can save the document to both of those formats from within OpenOffice. For .pdf format, there is an icon in the standard toolbar just above your document. Click on that to create the .pdf file. For .doc format, choose FILE from the menu, then SAVE AS. Then browse the FILE FORMAT dropdown to find the .doc format (MS Word 1997-2003). -- Tim === I know the plans I have for you: Plans to prosper you and not to harm you; Plans to give you hope and a future. --- God (Jeremiah 29:11) On 1/8/2014 10:45 PM, jcish...@suddenlink.net wrote: To whom it may concern, My name is John, I have been using open office for some time now and fine it as good or better than windows office.
