The 'Network Provider' left tab should appear also on Install Host dialog.
So if you move the host to 'Maintenance' mode and click on the Install
button, the dialog
should have the 'Network Provider' left tab.

Ah, unfortunately this is not an option for me, currently, then. I only
have the single server, and this, single host :-(

Thanks for figuring that out, though. I will keep it in mind for the
 future.

After Engine VM is up and running, I believe you can define a new

host-plugging.

Have you tried this? If so, where does it fail?

Hi Alan,

basically, it could be that your ACL in your iSCSI server might be configured
without the Initiator IQN of your Host.
do you have any access to your iSCSI server?
also, can u try to connect to the iSCSI server directly from your Host and see
if it works:

1) First discover the targets:
 iscsiadm -m discovery -t st -p {scsi_server_ip},{port}

2) Try to log out from the target you were trying to login before:
Example:
  iscsiadm -m node -u -T {iqn.2015-07.com.target_name.redhat}:{port} -p
{scsi_server_ip},{port} -u

3) list your files at /sys/block

4) logging in to the target:
   iscsiadm -m node -T {iqn.2015-07.com.target_name.redhat}:{port} -p
{scsi_server_ip},{port} -l

5) list again all your files at /sys/block, and check if there were new added
block devices.

I think it is something with oVirt. I installed a VM with FreeNAS and
configured it tot he setup guide for iSCSI. Once again, I can connect
my Windows 7 PC to the iSCSI target and LUN no problem, but when I try
to add iSCSI storage in oVirt, it sees the target, can log in to the
target but does not see any LUNs.

iSCSI is not a huge deal; I guess I will just stick with NFS and
consider iSCSI in oVirt not ready.

Subject: [ovirt-users] CPU Threads Help!!!

Hi, Guys Recently I am investigating the Optimization Policy in Cluster and try
to use “ CPU Threads ”.

As the manual of description:

For example, a 24-core

system with 2 threads per core (48

threads total) can run virtual machines with

up to 48 cores each

My host CPU is

i3-2120 CPU (2 cores 4 threads)

So I think the expect result case is :

1. If the “ Count Threads As Cores ” disable , we can’t run virtual vm with
above 2 vCPU

2. If the “ Count Threads As Cores ” enable , we can’t run virtual vm with
above 4 vCPU

Now the problem is about result case 1:

1. When I set “ Count Threads As Cores ” disable , I still can run virtual vm
with 4 vCPU

Can anyone help me to explain it ???

Regards,
Jian

[ovirt-users] live migration

2015-08-16 Thread Demeter Tibor
Hi,

I reinstalled one of my nodes (node1) because I have to replace my hdds.
I installed centos 6.6 minimal, but on node re-adding procecure it installed
newer qemu-kvm-rhev packages.
Since reinstall I can run VMs on this node and I can do live migrate from this
node to other, but not backwards.
I remember, maybe one years ago it was required to install redhat's version of
qemu-kvm-rhve package for this feature.
Is it necessary yet?
my versions:

node0 KVM: 0.12.1.2 - 2.415.el6_5.14, LIBVIRT: libvirt-0.10.2-46.el6_6.1
node1 KVM: 0.12.1.2 - 2.448.el6_6.4, LIBVIRT: libvirt-0.10.2-54.el6
node2 KVM: 0.12.1.2 - 2.448.el6_6.4, LIBVIRT: libvirt-0.10.2-46.el6_6.1

Can I upgrade manual these hosts?
I haven't restart my hosts because node0 and node2 is gluster replicate.

Thanks in advance,
Tibor

Re: [ovirt-users] iSCSI question... LUNS-Targets balnk

2015-08-16 Thread Alan Murrell

Hi Maor,

It is/was probably something really weird with my
single-server/self-hosted engine. As a test I was able to install oVirt
Node 3.5 on another machine that I could borrow for a short period, and
I was able to get it connected via iSCSI to my FreeNAS VM, so I am
satisfied (for my own info) that iSCSI connectivity does work (I didn't
*really* doubt it since others are using it; I was just a bit frustrated
on my last post)

That being said, I think there is something odd/weird when trying to use
iSCSI on a single server/self-hosted engine setup, from which the iSCSI
connection is also being served from (even from a VM)

In the case of the FreeNAS test, I had the initiator set to ALL,
meaning any and all IQNs would be allowed to connect. I didn;t do
anything different on the FreeNAS side of things, and the oVirt 3.5 Node
that I installed was able to connect without any issue whatsoever.

I will try the steps you suggest if/when I ever decide to try this
again, but probably for a setup such as what I am testing, I will
probably stick to the local NFS storage (not yet sure if I will go
with or without gluster; doing so sort of gives me more felxability in
the future)

Alan

[ovirt-users] upgrade issues

2015-08-16 Thread Demeter Tibor
Hi All,

I have to upgrade ovirt 3.5.0 to 3.5.3. We have a 3 node system and we have a
gluster replica beetwen 2 node of these 3 servers.
I had gluster volume beetwen node0 and node2
But I wanted to do a new volume beetwen node1 and node2.
It didn't work, it complety kill my node1, because glusterd does not stated.I
always have to got always error: gluster peer rejected (related to node1).
I followed this article
http://www.gluster.org/community/documentation/index.php/Resolving_Peer_Rejected

and it was good, my gluster service already worked, but ovirt got these errors

Detected deletion of volume g2sata on cluster r710cluster1, and deleted it from
engine DB.
Detected deletion of volume g4sata on cluster r710cluster1, and deleted it from
engine DB.

And ovirt does not see my gluster volumes anymore.

I've checked with gluster volume status and gluster volume heal g2sata info, it
seems to be working, my VMs are ok.

How can I reimport my lost volumes to ovirt?

Thanks in advance,

Tibor

[ovirt-users] vgs and lvs return empty list

2015-08-16 Thread like...@cs2c.com.cn
Hi, all

I have a oVirt3.4 environment. I create a FC storage domain and a disk on this
FC storage domain. Everything works well. But i have a question:
When i login the vdsm host, and use the vgs/lvs command to show the vg which
represent FC storage domain and the lv which represent the disk on the FC
storage domain, the command returens empty result list. It seems like there is
no vg or lv at all. But if i use the lvchange -ay lv path to activate the lv
on the host, then the vgs/lvs command returns the expected vg/lv list. I want
to know why it is like this? After all, if i use vgcreate command to create a
new vg, then i can use vgs command to show the vg list immediately.

Thanks, looking foward to your reply.
