[ovirt-users] oVirt 4.2 vm-portal console

2018-06-15 Thread Staniforth, Paul
Hello,

 I have installed a test system for oVirt 4.2 and it seems that in the
vm portal I can't change the console to vnc or spice+vnc. It seems that this is
only available in the admin portal.

Am I missing something?

Thanks,

 Paul S.

[ovirt-users] Re: Non-responsive vm's due to crashed host and hosted vm liveliness check fails

2018-06-15 Thread clam2718
Dear Andrej and Martin:

I just wanted to follow-up and thank you both so very much. I was able to
update to the latest 4.1.9 and that resolved my issues - engine started just
fine, all vm's are up. My apologies for the delayed update, I had back surgery
and was out a while.

Again, I really appreciate everyone's responses - most helpful!!!

Sincerely,
Charles

I am trying to download Node 4.1 from https://www.ovirt.org/node but am

If the debian package is similar to the Ubuntu one, it cannot work without some
bits of configuration. The required steps are something like (Ubuntu 16.04, so
they should be valid on Debian 8/9):

- Enable the service at boot time

- Fix the log directory permissions

# chown -R ovirtagent:ovirtagent /var/log/ovirt-guest-agent/

- Add some udev rules: I used /etc/udev/rules.d/55-ovirt-guest-agent.rules as
in CentOS, with the same content:

SYMLINK=="virtio-ports/com.redhat.rhevm.vdsm", OWNER="ovirtagent",
GROUP="ovirtagent"
SYMLINK=="virtio-ports/ovirt-guest-agent.0", OWNER="ovirtagent",
GROUP="ovirtagent"

- Modify the agent config file /etc/ovirt-guest-agent.conf

[virtio]
device = /dev/virtio-ports/ovirt-guest-agent.0

Best

[ovirt-users] quick way to start glusterfs managed engine over?

2018-06-15 Thread william.dossett
I have successfully got glusterfs playbook to finish once and then my
networking was wrong on the managed engine and on the hosts, so I started
over.

Now I can't seem to even get that far again. I completely reloaded the
hosts, but that takes a while. Last time glusterfs failed right at the end
with

"host is not in 'Peer in Cluster' state"

Redeploying fails as partitions already exist.

I am deploying to /dev/sdb

Is there a quick way to get /dev/sdb back into a state to redeploy to? I
think I got there once by doing pvremove and gdisk zap gpt, but not sure if
that worked or caused problem on the redeploy.

Its very time consuming to start over from scratch, so would appreciate if
there is any shortcut instead of reloading the OS.

Thans

Bill

 Where do I find the 4.2 agent (or does the 4.2 agent even exist?)

I think the workaround is to add

oreg_url=registry.access.redhat.com/openshift3/ose-
${component}:${version}

to your inventory for OCP external and

oreg_url=brew-pulp-
docker01.web.prod.ext.phx2.redhat.com:/openshift3/ose

${component}:${version}

for OCP internal and

oreg_url=docker.io/openshift/origin-
${component}:${version}

for Origin

Is it possible that there is some sort of networking issue that you
cannot access https://registry-1.docker.io?

from the machine - can you do

curl -vs https://registry-1.docker.io

can you do

sudo docker pull docker.io/openshift/origin-pod:v3.9.0

?
