Does /dev/sdb contains your gluster? Are you sure of the name of the device?

What does lsblk shows?

If you boot the previous image does the node boots correctly?

Thanks Wodel,

I added that in but it still fails to boot because it can't find the gluster
volumes as well as /dev/sdb not a PV.

Any thoughts?

Hi,

Version 4.4
Its simple 3-node system with no hosted engine (engine on separate server).
Node installed manually, not via factory image.
I just can't any file/dir which eats almost 8 GB on /var/log.

[ovirt-users] Re: Lost space in /var/log

2022-06-22 Thread Michael Thomas
This can also happen with a misconfigured logrotate config. If a
process is writing to a large log file, and logrotate comes along and
removes it, then the process still has an open filehandle to the large
file even though you can't see it. The space won't get removed until
the process closes the filehandle (eg rebooting).

The following command should give you a list of these ghost files that
are still open but have been removed from the directory tree:

lsof | grep '(deleted)'

Stackexchange has some additional useful tips:

Space for deleted files are only recovered when all references to that space
are removed. This includes the directory reference, and any open file-handles
to the file.

The is a popular trick for a self-deleting scratch file. Create a file, open
file-handle to it, and then remove the file. The open file-handle can then be
written to, and read from, as long as you like, but when the file-handle is
closed, explicitly or implicitly, the space is automatically recovered.

[ovirt-users] Q: Error ID 119 - ioctl(KVM_CREATE_VM) failed: Cannot allocate memory

2022-06-22 Thread Andrei Verovski

Hi !

Does this error message means node runs out of RAM?

Quite strange since there are about 20 GB of free RAN, and VM requires
only 8.
I noticed this happen till Vinchin was in a process of removing snapshot
from another VM.

Thanks.

VM Jumis_VM-Active is down with error. Exit message: internal error:

2022-06-22 Thread wodel youchi
Hi,

I think you are facing the same problem I had when I did the update, LVM
filter has been deactivated and replaced with a file a devices file in
/etc/lvm/devices/system.devices if you cat that file you'll find only the
OS lvm, you have to add the devices that contain you gluster VGs to that
file using lvmdevices --adddev /dev/sdb for example, you have to know the
name and path of the devices that contain you gluster VGs.

https://man7.org/linux/man-pages/man8/lvmdevices.8.html

Regards.

[ovirt-users] Re: HCI Upgrade 4.4 to 4.5 Gluster 10

2022-06-22 Thread simon
I upgraded the Engine first and then tried one of the 3 nodes via the Manager
WebUI.

On reboot the node boots straight into emergency mode having timed out on the
gluster volumes:

Timed out waiting for device dev-disk-by\...
Dependency failed for /gluster_bricks/engine

Same messages for vmstore and data01

If I edit /etc/fstab and comment out the gluster entries it boots into the
oVirt node.

The gluster pv is also not there:

  PV VG Fmt Attr PSizePFree
  /dev/sda3 ovirt_vg_sda lvm2 a-- <445.04g 21.48g

Whereas the other 2 nodes have the following:

  PV VG Fmt Attr PSizePFree
  /dev/sda3 ovirt_vg_sda lvm2 a-- <445.04g 21.48g
  /dev/sdb gluster_vg_sdb lvm2 a-- <893.25g 0

2022-06-22 Thread wodel youchi
Hi,

If it's an HCI deployment and you are using the ovirt node image, then no.
The new gluster packages are contained within the node's image.
If you're using CentOS for example for your nodes then it should be the
same but I never tested it.

Regards.

Wouldn't the bug get auto-closed, as I'm still using 4.4.10?

[ovirt-users] Re: Cannot export VM to another data domain. "o.original_template is undefined"

2022-06-22 Thread Gilboa Davara
Thanks for the prompt reply.
How can I authenticate?

No matter what user / password combo I use (including the full fqdn,
user@internal-authz) I get the following error:
access_denied: Cannot authenticate user 'XXX': No valid profile found in
credentials..

2022-06-22 Thread Benny Zlotnik
Seems like the issue is in this line[1], can you send an API request
manually to: https://ovirt-fqdn/ovirt-engine/api/vms/
and check the original_template field?
Should look like this:

[ovirt-users] Cannot export VM to another data domain. "o.original_template is undefined"

2022-06-22 Thread Gilboa Davara
Hello,

4.4.10 Gluster based cluster w/ 3 nodes.
I'm backing up all VMs before upgrading the setup to 4.5. (Hopefully done
right before 4.5.1 w/ Gluster fix is released).
When trying to export a VM to another data domain, several VMs show the
following error: "Export VM Failed. o.original_template is undefined".

Engine log looks clean (I see nothing about the failed upgrade).

Any idea what's broken?
