I think https://access.redhat.com/solutions/6644151 should solve the problem 
(you can use a developer subscription to access it).

It would make more sense to odentify the root cause.Can you check if all oVirt 
nodes are in the TSP:gluster pool listAlso, check that the Engine's volume is 
available from all nodes -> should be mounted and listable:ls -l

1. any reason ovirt stays on phase 2 for years? (please reason for the
cancellation if canceled)
2. In the final plan (phase 5), what was the purpose of separating the VDSM
subsystems? Is it for performance or any other reason??
3. any special reason like openstack integration the AMQP was adopted as
the main messaging protocol in the plan?

Please note that I didn't test it, and that I am not sure it makes
sense in itself - perhaps we need to add a different condition to
_closeup_engine_grafana_access instead (or in addition).

Hi,

as mentioned in https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2021497 from
oVirt 4.5.1 for new installations we are configuring internal instance of
Keycloak to provide authentication for oVirt engine.
oVirt AAA providers has been deprecated and even though they continue to
work and there are no plans at the moment to remove them, it's advised to
plan the switch to Keycloak. So here are possible scenarios:

1. New oVirt 4.5.1+ deployments -> it's advised use either internal or
external Keycloak to provide authentication
2. New oVirt 4.5.1+ deployment with AAA -> it's possible during
engine-setup phase of installation process to choose to use AAA instead of
Keycloak
3. Upgrade of older oVirt releases to 4.5.1+
a. If old installation used AAA, then during upgrade nothing changes
and upgraded setup will continue to use AAA
b. If old installation used Keycloak, then during upgrade nothing
changes and upgraded setup will continue to use Keycloak
4. If administrators wants to switch from AAA to internal Keycloak in oVirt
4.5.1+, there is automated way to do it using engine-setup

5. If administrators wants to switcht from AAA to external Keycloak, there

Please clarify exactly what you mean.

Are you currently already in a restore situation, where something is
broken enough so that you want to restore from backup? What's broken?

Are you preparing/exercising for a future restore event? What
use-cases do you want to prepare/test for? E.g. it's very different to
prepare to a case where a trivial corruption/user-error/bug/whatever
"just" removed some critical files on your engine VM, and to prepare
to a case where the complete site/hardware went through a natural
disaster and you buy new hardware/storage/etc. and want to restore on
them. And obviously there are many other cases in-between/around
these.

Meaning, running the hosted_engine_setup role directly? Without
'hosted-engine --deploy'?

Nice to know about that - it's quite rare.

We do have a section about restoring a backup inside the engine VM,
assuming that it's still ok - search for "Overwriting a Self-Hosted

if you want to expose your LDAP server to keycloak you need to login
keycloak admin console https://ENGINE_FQDN/ovirt-engine-auth/admin and
login as admin user with password specified in engine-setup.

I'm trying to connect an active directory to my ovirt for authentication.
But the base DN of my active directory is not the default one so I need to
specify it in ovirt configuration to find users.
How can I configure it?
In my current configuration when I try to login, I get this message:

I was wondering if you were able to resolve the issue with the non-responsive 
hypervisor hosts in the HostedEngine web GUI after running the "engine-setup 
--offline"? I currently have an expired certificate causing a similar issue and 
wanted to know if/how you were able to get your Ovirt node to recognize the new 
cert created?

Hi,

We have a ovirt host in a 'Unassigned' state because its certificate has 
expired.
The ovirt events show...

VDSM host1 command Get Host Capabilities failed: PKIX path validation failed: 
java.security.cert.CertPathValidatorException: validity check failed

This is the only host in the cluster, and has local storage so I don't have any 
options to start the single VM elsewhere.
Is there a way to renew the certificate on this host? I have no option to put 
the host in maintenance mode and 'Enroll Certificate' as its in the unassigned 
state.

The oVirt manager is running version: 4.4.10.7-1.el8 The oVirt host in the bad 
state is running: ovirt-host-4.4.9-2, vdsm-4.40.100.2-1.

Please let me know if you need any more info, and thanks in advance.

As Liran commented above, such changes should be made in a different
file so they won't be overridden when you'll upgrade ovirt-engine; and
as Liran commented below, if you're ok with setting the default
display to spice/qxl for all operating systems, it's easier to change
the blank template

It happened right before entering the cleanup stage, at closeup stage.

Generally speaking, the closeup stage should consist of non-critical
stuff, so in theory you might be ok.

But I think that the real problem happened before that, and the above
error is just a side-effect of it.
