Apple handles this rather well on Mac OS X and iOS using a Notes mail folder.
Their implementation allows for graceful fallback to something similar to a
Draft folder in other MUAs (mail user agents), webmail included. It appears
that Mac OS X and iOS senses this Notes folder and its enclosed messages and
then displays them appropriately. Might I suggest something similar for SOGo?

Not right now. It would ideally also need to be implemented in Lightning
so it's quite a big thing to add.

This has already been implemented. It will be available in beta4 - soon
to be released.

- All mail folders other than the “Inbox”, “Drafts” and “Sent Items” will be
located under the “Inbox” folder. It is possible to create mail folders only
   underneath the “Inbox” folder.

Note: This seems like a Cyrus IMAP feature/"limitation" to me. Would
it be gone if SOGo where to use Dovecot instead?

- It is not possible to rename or delete mail folders.
That's will be part of beta5 - those with the freebusy support are the
remaining parts to be implemented before we go "final".

Thanks,

Re: [SOGo] ZEG limitations

2011-12-21 Thread ha...@aasterud.com
Hi,

Good to see some questionsa bout ZEG here... I installed ZEG and installed it
under ESX. What I wanted to do now is to test it with my own email accounts. I
assumed that I could use my now being POP3 account, and forward it to the ZEG
Cyrus mail server.

Could somebody please tell me if this can be done? How does the config file
need to look like?

Another question is: is ZEG stable enough to use all features, like Outlook
connector and Funambol?

Regards,

Harry

[SOGo] changing resource names

2011-12-21 Thread Donny Brooks
I had resources setup and working perfectly. However due to the "higher ups" wanting it to be more granular I broke them down into three catagories: car, room, equipment. Basically all I did was remove the ldap entry for the "resource" way and recreate it with the new way. Also since the email's changed I updated the aliases file since I had all the resources mail going to a central user.

Here is the old and new ldap entries:

OLD:
dn: uid=resource05goldcaravan,ou=People,dc=mdah,dc=state,dc=ms,dc=us
objectClass: inetOrgPerson
objectClass: organizationalPerson
objectClass: person
objectClass: top
objectClass: CalendarResource
objectClass: calEntry
cn: 2005 Dodge Grand Caravan Gold
sn: Grand Caravan Gold
displayName: 2005 Dodge Grand Caravan Gold
givenName: 2005 Dodge
Kind: thing
mail: resource05goldcara...@mdah.state.ms.us
Multiplebookings: 1
uid: resource05goldcaravan
structuralObjectClass: inetOrgPerson

New:
dn: uid=car05goldcaravan,ou=People,dc=mdah,dc=state,dc=ms,dc=us
objectClass: inetOrgPerson
objectClass: organizationalPerson
objectClass: person
objectClass: top
objectClass: CalendarResource
objectClass: calEntry
cn: 2005 Dodge Grand Caravan Gold
sn: Grand Caravan Gold
displayName: 2005 Dodge Grand Caravan Gold
givenName: 2005 Dodge
Kind: thing
mail: car05goldcara...@mdah.state.ms.us
Multiplebookings: 1
uid: car05goldcaravan
structuralObjectClass: inetOrgPerson

The problem now is that double bookings are able to take place. I have restarted sogod and memcached just incase that was an issue. Any ideas?

Hallo Peter,

if you like to have multiple mail addresses (aliases) @ the same server,
add these adresses to your LDAP account. It should work.

This reminded me of a Cyrus setting:
altnamespace: yes

The alternate namespace allows a user's personal mailboxes to appear as if they
reside at the same level as that user's INBOX as
opposed to children of it. For example, if user "bovik" had a personal "work"
mailbox, it would appear to user "bovik" as "work"
instead of "INBOX.work" as it would in the standard namespace.

[SOGo] ZEG limitations

2011-12-21 Thread Patrick Ben Koetter

Will ALL currently "Known Issues or Limitations" of Version 2.0.0beta3 be gone
when the stable 2.0 will be released?

I am asking because a customer is interested to hook their Outlook clients to
a groupware server and I'd recommend SOGo if some of them will be gone in the
near future.

The stoppers on my list are:

- You cannot have access to shared resources (calendars and address books) nor
can you share your resources from Microsoft Outlook.

- It is not possible to rename or delete mail folders.

you need to set the GNUstep config for OCSSessionsFolderURL

After some reading, I've done that:

- try to authenticate again
- wait for the worker to take 100% CPU
- run gdb -p
- ask gdb to display the backtrace (bt)

The result is attached in this mail. Is this is the correct way to
proceed ?

[SOGo] CAS authentication

2011-12-21 Thread Daniel Berteaud
Hi.

I'm trying to get CAS authentication working on SOGo for quite long now,
and I still can't get it working. I previously had a problem with my CAS
server but it's now fixed. This CAS server (I'm using LemonLDAP::NG as
CAS server) is used successfully with other services.

Here are the details:

- I've configured 3 workers in /etc/sysconfig/sogo (running on CentOS)

- I've modified the .GNUstepDefaults file to include

SOGoAuthenticationType = cas;
SOGoCASServiceURL ="https://auth.domain.tld/cas";;

- When I try to reach SOGo, I'm redirected on my CAS login page

- After authentication, I'm redirected back to SOGo with my ticket
(https://sogo.domain.tld/SOGo/so/?ticket=ST-1355511f48ade63cc81a2839c211fbae
for example)

- SOGo correctly checks the ticket and ask for its PGT (URL reaching my
CAS server

/cas/serviceValidate?ticket=ST-1355511f48ade63cc81a2839c211fbae&service=https%3A%2F%2Fsogo.domain.tld%2FSOGo%2Fso%2F&pgtUrl=https%3A%2F%2Fsogo.domain.tld%2FSOGo%2FcasProxy

- my CAS server validate the service, and call the pgtUrl successfully
(https://sogo.domain.tld/SOGo/casProxy?pgtIou=PGTIOU-ca228410631b576aa96c94506cc6c289&pgtId=PGT-85a4b5c0600045d28ef0bb3994b62b7f)

- This request is handled by the cas-proxy-validate.py script, and the
PGT is stored in memcached (checked with memcached-tool localhost dump)

- Up to now, everything is normal, but then, one sogo worker takes 100%
CPU, and my browser stays here loading the page, until it displays a
proxy error (timeout)

In SOGo logs, all I have is this:

Now, to debug further, I think I need to run sogod in gdb, but I don't
know exactly how should I run it.
Especially, CAS auth needs at least 2 workers to work, but I think
running sogod in gdb is possible only with 1 worker.

Can somebody give me some hints about how should I use gdb to get more
informations on this ? (once I have all the relevant informations, I'll
be able to open a bug).

Regards, Daniel

An other option. Replace the proxy section with this one :

http://127.0.0.1:2/SOGo>
  RewriteEngine On
  RewriteBase /
  RewriteRule .* -
[E=SOGO_HTTP_SCHEME:http,E=SOGO_HTTP_HOST:%{HTTP_HOST},E=SOGO_SERVER_PORT:%{SERVER_PORT},NE]
  RewriteCond %{HTTPS} =on
  RewriteRule .* - [E=SOGO_HTTP_SCHEME:https,NE]

## adjust the following to your configuration
  RequestHeader set "x-webobjects-server-port" "%{SOGO_SERVER_PORT}e"
  RequestHeader set "x-webobjects-server-name" "%{SOGO_HTTP_HOST}e"
  RequestHeader set "x-webobjects-server-url"
"%{SOGO_HTTP_SCHEME}e://%{SOGO_HTTP_HOST}e"

## When using proxy-side autentication, you need to uncomment and
## adjust the following line:
# RequestHeader set "x-webobjects-remote-user" "%{REMOTE_USER}e"

  RequestHeader set "x-webobjects-server-protocol" "HTTP/1.0"
  RequestHeader set "x-webobjects-remote-host" %{REMOTE_HOST}e env=REMOTE_HOST

  AddDefaultCharset UTF-8

  Order allow,deny
  Allow from all

This configuration will work for every host and every port you use. I use it as
a standard configuration for small deployment or multi-domains deployment.

[SOGo] Cleaning up /tmp or SOGoMailSpoolPath

2011-12-21 Thread Jan-Frode Myklebust
We were just running quite low on space for /tmp, where
SOGoMailSpoolPath defaults. Could someone advice for how safe it is to
clean up by running tmpwatch as user "sogo" ?

tmpwatch --nodirs --nosymlinks 6 /tmp/

Or will it cause problems with f.ex. references to files in memcached ?

Also, what's the intended use of /var/spool/sogo ? Should we point
SOGoMailSpoolPath here, or to a subdir of /var/spool/sogo?

For me this is a problem too. When you have one firm what uses Sogo it's
no point, but when different little organisations or private persons are
using it on one installation, it's not nice. I would like a way to
turn-off the autocompletion.

Maybe it's possible now to make groups of users. where the users can see
only the others of the group. But I don't know how to realize that, and
I am afraid it's a bit to complex for my situation.

With regards,
Paul van der Vlis.

This works for me:

calendar:
https://sogo.vandervlis.nl/SOGo/dav/paul/Calendar/personal/
adressbook:
https://sogo.vandervlis.nl/SOGo/dav/paul/Contacts/personal/

You will have to replace my username "paul" with your username.

I wonder about your username "steve+cprkc.com", but maybe it means
something like: st...@cprkc.com.

You have to add all accounts under "Preferences" --> "IMAP Accounts".
Then you can choose, which one to use on writing emails.

Kind regards,
