[SOGo] funambol and table names

2012-01-27 Thread Denis Medvedev
Dear users,
I want to share one thing about configuration of sogo for funambol:
the names of tables in SOGo config file should be EXACTLY the same as those
that in Installation guide.
sogo_alarms_folder , etc.
I tried to make my own names for those tables and this results in strange
errors while trying to use funambol-sync, and probably even outlook-sync.
Also, is it possible to fill the default timezone for user? Funambol needs that.
 Best regards, Denis Medvedev

Outlook has been having note-taking functionality for years, and some of
our users are missing this functionality in Thunderbird and the web

Trouble is its not really part of the caldav/carddav spec as far as I know.

Is there a Thunderbird addon you could use instead?

We have the same problem. I was putting it down to the switch to 64bit
architecture. I increased SxVMemLimit to 1024 to no avail. The problem
occurred less with 1024 but was not gone.
We have an application that fetches a ical (large file 2000 entries)
file from sogo an this caused this issue every time. After I stopped
fetching this ical we don't have any more crashes with SxVMemLimit=1024
with less this still happens.
Also when I try to export this calendar in the web interface the same
thing happens.

Yes that makes sense. But I don't want to keep raising the mem unless
there's a good reason for it. We never had these issues a while back.
I'd rather try to find what is making SOGo collapse so easily when
previously with less memory it was so robust

We AFAIK don't have anyone loading ical files. I'm still not totally
sure what is causing the excessive ram usage. Recently I did see one
worker getting killed, (first example in earlier email), when we had to
clear a Lightening cache and mem / cpu increased when Lightning was
loading all the events from the server anew : about a 1800kB cache file

No Thunderbird addon supports both synchronisation (without using a
third-party server) and i18n. Without those features we could just as
well use Notepad on a samba share. ;-)

If there is no spec... well, time to make one?

Re: [SOGo] Note-taking addon?

2012-01-27 Thread Georg Bretschneider
Hi,

please take a look what iOS' notes app does. It uses ordinary IMAP to
store notes in a mailbox, called Notes. You can subscribe (of course)
to this mailbox with thunderbird and watch your notes.

Here's an example of one of my notes just containing grml-linux.

  Subject: grml-linux

  X-Mail-Created-Date: Sun, 25 Dec 2011 10:44:28 +0100
  Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit
  Mime-Version: 1.0 (1.0)

  grml-linux

I can think of a function that uses this mailbox and stores it notes in
a similar (or the same form, if Apple won't care). Then you could take
notes and read them on your iPhone, too.

I don't know whether there is already a feature request for Thunderbird,
but the SOGo team could enhance the web gui either way.

Bye
Georg

PS: Of course I wouldn't really like seeing SOGo doing something that
Thunderbird totally can't do. Maybe there is a way to talk the Mozilla
team in doing such changes. :)

You are are absolutely right. I just needed a workaround because our
sogo got completely unusable. With our installation everything worked
smooth with 1.3.8. After this version we had this problem.

We have around 100 users and one public Calendar were everyone puts some
events the lightning-cache is about 3000kb on this one.

I think we have the same problem here which is memory consumption. just
different things that trigger it.

hope somebody else has an idea.

It looks like the closest would be this free, open source extension,
although it wouldn't add it to the web client:
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird/addon/thundernote/

Adding sync capability using SyncML was still considered until 2009:
http://code.google.com/p/tbird-thundernote/issues/detail?id=3

Maybe some of this can make it into SOGo or someone can contribute there.

Looks nice, and I've already been toying with it. But currently it
neither supports a usable syncing method nor i18n, and it looks kinda
dead, so it's not really an option in its current state. If SOGo was
able to resurrect this, I'd be happy.

Seems to be a similar issue like I posted on 10th Jan, Subject Very
high Load by request of personal.ics, isn't it?

Maybe there is something on generating the ics ...

Possibly, but my problem with memory/CPU isnt occuring on ics
generation, its happening generally

Re: [SOGo] SOGo keeps falling over when previously fine

Maybe you get it easier: limiting the sent ics-events.
SOGo gives you all stored events in one file, but this is IMHO generated
from the database.

Maybe it is possible to insert an optional Option ;-)
SOGoLimitIcsEventsToLastXWeeks, configured with the count of Weeks
with events, you will get max. in a ICS, 26 could be the half year
back, 0 (or unset) the current behaviour, the future events are
exported like now.

A bit like SOGoFreeBusyDefaultInterval ...

Idea for 1.3.12 ;-)

  Martin

2012-01-27 Thread André Schild

Hello Kyle,

I remember that there is a SQL script you must run manually to
make some schema upgrades.

Make sure that you use the correct Sogo.conf file for apache
Might be saved under somthing like sogo.rpmnew in a upgrade

If you had enabled out of office messages, then make sure you
configure the Turnoff thing correctly. (Needs a cron job)
Otherwise users will enter a expire date, but the ooo messages will not
be turned off.

Otherwise I think things should go smooth.

We will investigate.

Fixed.

This is great many thanks

Have you fixed something that had broke in an earlier vers 1.3.9 ? or is
this new functionality that should help anyway ?

I haven't dig to see if it is a regression that was added... but for
sure, that will help for ICS export and perhaps other stuff too.

The fix will be part of 1.3.12 and also the upcoming nightly builds.

[SOGo] PHP Intergration

2012-01-27 Thread Floyd Resler
We have implemented SOGo and would like to be able to push contacts and events
from a Web site so that our users can see them in their address books and
calendars. How can this be done?

Thanks!

Try the caldav-client.php-Class from Andrew McMillan and Andres Obrero
You will find it in the source-code of the davical-calendar-server.
Doku is in the file.

API:
http://debian.mcmillan.net.nz/doc/davical-doc/api/awl/caldav/CalDAVClient.html

http://debian.mcmillan.net.nz/packages/davical/davical-1.0.2.tar.gz!/inc/caldav-client.php

There is also a second one: caldav-client-v2.php
But I did not test it. The first one runs good for me.

  Martin

Martin,
Thanks for the information. The link to the class doesn't work anymore
so I found caldav-client-v2.php you mentioned. It requires XMLDocument.php.
Any ideas where I can find this?

Thanks!
Floyd

Re: [SOGo] PHP Intergration

2012-01-27 Thread Martin Rabl

Hi,

the link does run - look there:

http://debian.mcmillan.net.nz/packages/davical/davical-1.0.2.tar.gz!/inc/caldav-client.php

means:

1. Download from
http://debian.mcmillan.net.nz/packages/davical/davical-1.0.2.tar.gz

2. unpack the file to a DIR

3. And then look into DIR/inc/caldav-client.php

;-))
