Re: [SOGo] Ldap vs Mysql

2013-12-06 Thread Igor Vitorac
If you have your users in mysql, you don't need to migrate them to LDAP.
You can use MySQL as user source. Check documentation and some
earlier/older posts on this mailing list.

1- I want to natively connect some of my outlook users to the mail server.

I believe sogo is my solution.

I was taking a quick look at the documentation and I have noticed that
I will need some sort of an Ldap server to achieve my goals with sogo.
How does this supposed to work? I already have a mysql database
running the domain and user data. Do I need to first change my current
setup and replace mysql with an ldap server, which sounds like a quite
task.

Please advice...

Re: [SOGo] Authentication using SQL - SOGoUserSources configuration / password schemes

2013-12-06 Thread t.b.mailinglists
Hallo again,

while reviewing my Postfixadmin configuration, I noticed that I did not use
ssha512 as the password scheme for Dovecot. Instead I used:
 [/etc/postfixadmin/config.inc.php]
 $CONF['encrypt'] = 'dovecot:SHA512-CRYPT';

This (SHA512-CRYPT) is the 2nd strongest scheme supported by Dovecot. The
strongest is BLF-CRYPT.

This is not the same scheme ... my fault.
I suppose SOGo 2.1.1.a doesn't support them?
1.) I think I have to choose another password scheme for now. Right?

While the salt in ssha512 is good against rainbow-table based password
attacks,
the -CRYPT variants additionally improve the strength against brute-force and
dictionary attacks by slowing the hashing down.

According to Vidar’s Blog-post about - Implementation of SHA512-crypt vs MD5-
crypt
http://www.vidarholen.net/contents/blog/?p=33
- the -CRYPT variants maybe even need additional parameters for the number of
rounds.

###
Like md5-crypt, it can be divided into three phases. Initialization, loop, and
finalization.

Generate a simple sha512 hash based on the salt and password
Loop 5000 times, calculating a new sha512 hash based on the previous hash
concatenated with alternatingly the hash of the password and the salt.
Additionally, sha512-crypt allows you to specify a custom number of rounds,
from 1000 to 9
Use a special base64 encoding on the final hash to create the password
hash string
###

I suggest, that SOGo implements them like Postfixadmin does:
Postfixadmin invokes Dovecots password utility: /usr/bin/doveadm pw
and calls the schemes e.g. 'dovecot:SHA512-CRYPT';
 [/etc/postfixadmin/config.inc.php]
// If you use the dovecot encryption method: where is the dovecotpw
binary located?
 $CONF['dovecotpw'] = /usr/bin/doveadm pw;

2.) Any opinions?

Kind regards

T. B.

Hi SOGo users,

Does anyone know of a way that a user can configure the color of a shared

Currently, we have the administrator subscribing specific users to a group of
shared calendars (as it is difficult for them), but all of the calendars
default to the same “grey” color, which is extremely confusing to the user.
Either in Apple Calendar or iOS Calendar, it is not possible to change the
color of the calendar — however, the user can change it if they log into the
web interface.

The organization is all Apple OS and iOS, and we are trying to avoid the

Re: [SOGo] Adjusting shared calendar colors from iOS or Apple Calendar

2013-12-06 Thread Laz C. Peterson

For a user like me, who actually understands the methods behind CalDAV, etc.,
it's no problem logging into the web interface and changing the colors.  For my
users, though ... Much different story.

I do understand the same limitations exist for even Apple's CalDAV service, as
well as Google's -- and I'm sure others, too.  I am guessing there is no RFC
definition for delegate calendar colors and how they can be updated outside of
the specific server itself, for example from a client or third party
application.

It is a little frustrating though that it works for a user's own calendars, but
not the delegate ones.  If I knew more about the programming behind it all, I
would most definitely try my hands at contributing.  Though I would most likely
just make a mess. ;)

[SOGo] SOGoPasswordChangeEnabled from System to Domain
