[SOGo] EAS calendar sync: xml2wbxml error

2023-09-28 Thread Paul Leiber

Hi everybody,

for some time now I am having issues when syncing my calendar using Nine
Folders android app and SOGo EAS. E-Mail and Tasks are synced correctly.

In SOGo log, the following lines appear when trying to sync the calendar:

Sep 28 21:57:17 sogod [149165]:
<0x0x555b6f69f880[SOGoActiveSyncDispatcher]> Change detected during
Sync, we push the content.
Sep 28 21:57:17 sogod [149165]: [ERROR] <0x0x555b7006a0a0[NSDataMalloc]>
xml2wbxml failed: Parsing of XML Document Failed

Sep 28 21:57:17 sogod [149165]: [ERROR] <0x0x555b7006a0a0[NSDataMalloc]>
Original data written to: /tmp/_246ad_2ac6121d_0.data

I am running SOGo nightlies on Debian 12, I updated SOGo to the latest
version. Debian is also up do date.

Is this an error in SOGo, or is there a bad XML format in one of the
calendar entries? If one or more of the calendar entries are at fault,
how can I identify the faulty one(s)?

Best regards,

Paul

That is the problem.
If operators take too long or don't care about spam at all, entire
network ranges will land in blacklists.

The only way around: Get your own ASN and your own address space.

Hi,

I also believe it is not related to Sogo - but it is related to
"Microsoft-Outlook-Protection" - WAN-IP or Block-of-WAN-IPs where your
mailserver is hosting is listed on "Outlook-blacklist".

You can view and delist IP's on this link:
https://sendersupport.olc.protection.outlook.com/snds/data.aspx

Hope this helps...

That is not related to SOGo at all.
You send the mails out from 185.223.74.125.

That host seems to be or has been on a blacklist MS uses.

https://docs.hetzner.com/de/robot/dedicated-server/troubleshooting/microsoft
-blacklist/

https://olcsupport.office.com/ is named as a place where you can delist it.

Question 1: Is 185.223.74.125 your system or do you relay it through another
SMTP server (often called smarthost)?

If it is yours and only controlled by you: Check the logs for any spam
message

Be careful with this message: it is coming from an external sender Do not
open attachments nor click on links, unless you are sure that the content is
safe Scanned by Alcad Security System

Hello "Support",

this is probably not a SOGo problem.

What you see is reported over at mailops[1] quite often.

I checked the IP you provided with a free service[2] and there
are no blocks shown.

So, to put it bluntly: you are another victim of the oligopoly[3].

What to do?
Unfortunately, the list archive of mai...@mailop.org is restricted to
subscribers. And the archive is not searchable.
I found a couple of threads in my own archive. An example answer:

To: "mai...@mailop.org"
Subject: Re: [mailop] [EXTERNAL] Anybody seeing a huge spike of (S3140)
errors from Hotmail/Outlook started on Sep 7th

You’re going to have to file a ticket, and they’re really the only folks
who can assist.
But that s typically an indication that there’s something going weird on
your network.

And trying to obfuscate it with IP.AD.DR.ES doesn’t help in figuring out
what’s going on.
Just saying,.

Aloha,
Michael.

AW: [SOGo] Email not being sent

2023-09-28 Thread "Raoul Schroeder"
Hi,

sending emails to big providers (who are trying to filter out SPAM) is getting
harder and harder.

This is not something particular with your setup of SOGo, but with your email
SMTP program (or that of your provider).

>From what it looks like, you are using gandi.net as a website builder/host?

Gandi.net does not seem to support DMARC and DMIC, without which many email
providers will filter out your messages.

Additionally, they seem to have blocked the entire gandi.net IP range, due to
SPAM servers.

What can you do?

First, test out your blacklist listing, hopefully your domain is not listed:

https://mxtoolbox.com/blacklists.aspx

Then, test if you have SPF/DMIC/DMARC at all enabled (and if it is even
possible):

https://mxtoolbox.com/dmarc/dmarc-email-tools?referrer=cms_dmarchome

If all that passes, you can try to appeal to Microsoft to allow your IP address
through (use their contact email).

These days, it is almost easier to use an purchased email account from a
reputable provider to avoid all these issues, but with the right hosting
provider and the work on blacklists and SPF/DMIC/DMARC, it *is* possible to
send emails to all the big providers.

Best wishes,

Raoul

Re: [SOGo] Email not being sent

2023-09-28 Thread Jonathan Aquilina
Morning,

A question what is the outbound smtp port you are trying to use, 25 or 587.
Providers might tend to block 25 as that is know to have spam sent out on it
hence why 587 is used instead.
