[xwiki-users] [Important] Regression in XE 1.8.1 for multiwiki usage
Hi everyone, We've just found that XE 1.8.1 is having some GWT service initialization issue in multiwiki mode. All applications using the XWiki GWT service fail on XE 1.8.1 (in multiwiki mode only). More specifically this will affects users in multiki mode and using the new WYSIWYG editor or XWiki Watch (both using GWT Services). For those users we recommend to wait for XE 1.8.2 which is planned for early next week (week of the 20th of April). Sorry for the inconvenience. -Vincent on behalf of the XWiki dev team ___ users mailing list users@xwiki.org http://lists.xwiki.org/mailman/listinfo/users
[xwiki-users] XWiki 1.8.1 Editor problem, lost line breaks and escaped wiki syntax
Hi, I hope someone out there can help me with this very strange problem with the editors. I have WYSIWYG as the default editor, and have edited the xwiki.properties and set xwiki/2.0 as default editor syntax. Scenario: I create a new page. Wysiwyg editor is default. Editing the following content: Heading 1 bold text bold text And saving. It looks nice when viewing the new page, with Title 1 formatting of the heading line and bold text on the second and third lines. But when I chose to edit the page again, the wysiwyg editor appears, with the following faulty content: = heading 1 = **bold text line 1** **bold text line 2**\\ \\ Hitting the Preview button from wysiwyg editor shows the same result, raw xwiki/2.0 syntax, minus the original line breaks in the preview mode. If I instead of preview change to the Wiki editor mode, the content is escaped: ~= heading 1 = ~*~*bold text line 1~*~* ~*~*bold text line 2~*~*~\~\ ~\~\ And if cycling between the editors once more from there, even more escape ~ characters occur. What am I doing wrong? config issue? or is this a bug? wysiwyg editor appears not to be able to parse xwiki/2.0 syntax in 1.8.1? Details: * XWiki 1.8.1 stable * WebSphere Application Server 6.1 fixpack 21 Kind regards, Jonas ___ users mailing list users@xwiki.org http://lists.xwiki.org/mailman/listinfo/users

Hi Guillaume, Thanks for your quick reply. I run Firefox 3.0.8 and Internet Explorer 6.0 on Win XP SP2. I'll try to respond later with a more detailed description on how I reproduce this phenomenon. [xwiki-users] new install, 404 error
CentOS 5.3 Tomcat 5.5.23 PostgreSQL 8.1.11 Xwiki 1.8.1 I installed Xwiki 1.8.1 from the WAR file but get a 404 error when I browse to http://host:8080/xwiki. Rather than detailing the procedure here, I posted it to http://rafb.net/p/FhUlVP37.html for (hopefully) easier reading. I did confirm that Tomcat is listening on port 8080 and I get its default page when I browse to http://host:8080/. For the time being, I've disabled SELinux and iptables for testing. I followed the instructions for the installation of Tomcat and PostgreSQL that is detailed on the xwiki.org web site. http://platform.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/AdminGuide/InstallationTomcat http://platform.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/AdminGuide/InstallationPostgreSQL ___ users mailing list users@xwiki.org http://lists.xwiki.org/mailman/listinfo/users
[xwiki-users] Dynamic 'Database List' / 'Static List' on a page
Hello, I´m looking for a dynamic 'Database List' at my Wiki. I wan´t to select with the first 'Database List' the category and then select multiple items of sub categories in the second 'Database List'. The second 'Database List' has to show the actual sub categories dependent of the selected first 'Database List'. Database: +Category_1 |-Subcategory_1_1 |-Subcategory_1_2 |-Subcategory_1_3 |-Subcategory_1_4 +Category_2 |-Subcategory_2_1 |-Subcategory_2_2 |-Subcategory_2_3 |-Subcategory_2_4 +Category_3 . . . . I´m testing the 'Database Tree' but when multiselect is enabled I can select items in all Categories. Is there a possibility to realize this with standard classes? Have I got to use a script like java script or something similar. Have somebody an example or some information how to design this on a xwiki database? Thank you very much!
