[xwiki-users] Rating the XWiki solution in the Smile open source guide
Dear XWiki users, A French company (Smile) is providing an online guide of open source solutions and they're rating the different solutions: http://www.open-source-guide.com/ They've included XWiki here: http://www.open-source-guide.com/Solutions/Applications/Blogs-wiki-et-forums/Xwiki They provide their own rating but they also allow users to rate the solutions. It would be great if you could spend one minute rating XWiki! It's very simple and even if you don't speak French it's easy. You just have to go to http://www.open-source-guide.com/Solutions/Applications/Blogs-wiki-et-forums/Xwiki# and click on Donner mon avis. You then have 6 questions for which to give from 1 to 5 stars + an opinion if you wish (you could leave it in English). That will help the XWiki project. Thanks for your help -Vincent Massol XWiki committer ___ users mailing list users@xwiki.org http://lists.xwiki.org/mailman/listinfo/users

Done. Despite of the fact, that I don't speak French, questions are quite clear :-))) Kind regards, Dmitry Вторник, 17 сентября 2013, 10:08 +02:00 от Vincent Massol vinc...@massol.net: Dear XWiki users, A French company (Smile) is providing an online guide of open source solutions and they're rating the different solutions: http://www.open-source-guide.com/ They've included XWiki here: http://www.open-source-guide.com/Solutions/Applications/Blogs-wiki-et-forums/Xwiki They provide their own rating but they also allow users to rate the solutions. Re: [xwiki-users] XWiki/2.1 analogue for #message(message) macro
On Sep 10, 2013, at 9:23 PM, Valdis Vītoliņš valdis.vitol...@odo.lv wrote: Vincent, actually I'm happy with both styles for boxes, because I regularly have several types of them in one page: 1. code excerpts ({{code}} with sharp corners, difference from {{box}} and quote is monospace font), Makes sense to have sharp corners for the code macro. 2. informational messages (e.g. {{warning}}, {{info}} — rounded ones with regular font. I added {{message}} custom macro without icon for more generic cases). I think different box styles make pages richer not only in appearance but also helps to grok meaning of content. Therefore I don't see need to make all boxes looking nice and rounded. Sure, the question that remains is whether the box macro should have sharp corners or if instead it should have round corners as the other info, error, warning, success macros. Generally speaking I think that we should only 1 generic macro called {{box}} which would have: * an optional title * an optional image/icon * content * style (default is round corners) Then we should refactor the info, warning, success and error macros to be specializations of this box macro. Same for the code macro which should also be a specialization of this box macro. See also http://jira.xwiki.org/browse/XWIKI-9432 WDYT? Thanks -Vincent Also, It would be good idea to add description of all different Boxes in Syntax guide (at least for these I know): {{code}} {{box}} {{{block group}}} quote {{info}} {{error}} {{success}} Valdis Hi Valdis, I've opened http://jira.xwiki.org/browse/XWIKI-9432 I reckon that the reason you didn't use the {{box/}} macro was just because it looks a little bit less nice that the other style (round corners, margin for the text), right? Thanks -Vincent On Sep 10, 2013, at 11:26 AM, Valdis Vītoliņš valdis.vitol...@odo.lv wrote: I decided, that the most elegant solution was to add custom XWiki macro called message whith body: {{velocity}}(% class=box plainmessage% )((($xcontext.macro.content))){{/velocity}} http://platform.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/DevGuide/WikiMacroTutorial Valdis I'm migrating documents to XWiki/2.1 syntax and wonder, what would be the precise analogue for #message(message) macro, which produces following HTML: div class=plainmessagemessage/div I found only similar ones: quote which produces blockquotequote/blockquote (IMHO works only for single paragraph even with {{{groups}}}) and {{info}}info{{/info}} which produces div class=box infomessageinfo/div Can I extend XWiki somehow that I can use {{message}}message{{/message}} with appropriate HTML output? It is documented, see http://platform.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/Main/XWikiSyntax#HLinks and specifically the section entitled XWiki Syntax 2.1 Link Specification. Well, who read the specs when there are examples ;) yep, agreed. Seriously, I plan forgot about that, silly me. What we are missing is a proper documentation of Syntax 2.1 and for this we need: http://jira.xwiki.org/browse/XWIKI-9176 We really need to work on that, we've been postponing it for too long now especially given that syntax 2.1 has been the default for a while... This looks quite cool. In my 5.2-SNAP the tables are a bit too wide, the bullets in the list bounce along the left margin, and the translations of the title did not made it in the list of translation documents (indeed I could not find them in the import) but aside of that ... What is actually needed to finish this, aside of a few formatting things? Fixing the code based on the comments in the jira issue (for example it has to pass the build, WCAG compliance is a must have). That's all. Interested to finish it? :) Thanks -Vincent ___ users mailing list users@xwiki.org http://lists.xwiki.org/mailman/listinfo/users

[xwiki-users] Broken page on http://l10n.xwiki.org
Hi, The right bottom panel with a list of links for all languages is broken on translation Wiki. As far as I remember the dynamic page linked there ( http://l10n.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/XE/StatusByLanguage?language=XX ) contains a macro which may be out of order.
