It would be great if some XWiki users around the world could organize some events! Some time back there was a frapp.com map of xwiki users around the world (http://web.archive.org/web/20070630195208/http://www.frappr.com/xwikiusers) but they stopped their service and we lost this feature. It could be interesting to find a new way so that xwiki users could locate themselves on a map. This could then be the basis for organizing meetups where there are clusters of xwiki users. WDYT? [xwiki-users] Panels collapse
Hi, We use the standard Colibri Skin with usually a Left and Side pane for panels. Most of our panels are for navigation only. (80%) So the question is: Can I make the default behavior of a panel be that it is collapsed, I want that after a click (and new content is loaded) that the panel is automatically collapsing again (Like a drop down menu) You click on the collapsed panel It opens and shows the navigation links The user selects one. The webpage is loaded and if the panel is also on that page it is automatically collapsed again I do not want cookies (or something else) that remembers the state and keeps the panel open. So a simple piece of code that I can add to the panel to get the behavior? A better version would be to link it to the default user attribute: User type So if user-type is simple automatically collapse if user type is advanced; keep the panels open for faster navigation. A even better would be to link it to the panel attribute Type and category something like: If Panel-type is View and Panel-category is navigation. Then automatically collapse without state memory) Our goal is to dramatically reduce screen clutter. For the roadmap of XWiki i would ask if it is possible to add something about collapsing behavior in either the panel definition or in the preferences of Site and/or space to define the desired behavior of panels? ___ users mailing list users@xwiki.org http://lists.xwiki.org/mailman/listinfo/users

Thomas, Right, I had added a link which referenced my longitude and latitude in the URL, so when anyone clicked the link it rendered the map pointing to my tag. I removed that and updated the link in the XWiki page so it should render the map based on all locations, not just mine (I added that information as a comment on the XWiki page). We could move to something else a bit later, I was thinking about adding a city field in xwiki.org profiles and generate a Google map based on it in some of the wiki pages, should not be too hard with the Google APIs I guess. I see now I just see my name and account as I am looking at the map through my Google profile (MyMaps). This is confirmed when I logged out of my Google account and reviewed in another browser. So if the XWiki community is OK with me managing this, I am happy to--I assume, Thomas, you can speak for the whole community :-). BTW--three folks on the map now!!! Sorry :) Hey still closer than Sydney Australia (wink wink) Also any XWiki users in New York / New England area of the U.S.? It would be great if some XWiki users around the world could organize some events! It could be interesting to find a new way so that xwiki users could locate themselves on a map. This could then be the basis for organizing meetups where there are clusters of xwiki users. WDYT? Any idea?
