[xwiki-users] Large XAR Import: Suppress Imported from XAR history entry when importing as backup?

2011-12-27 Thread Reto Hotz

Hi,

We use Large XAR Import
(http://extensions.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/Extension/Large+XAR+Import)
to migrate from one database to another.

With options: Import all and Overwrite with version

This works all fine, but I noticed that on every imported page, there is
a new history entry Imported from XAR and also the last modification
date of the imported page is set to the import date.

Is there a way to suppress these history entry and the last modification
date? So that the imported page (including history) looks exactly as it
did on the other system, where it was exported?

Thanks.

[xwiki-users] Umlaut problem with Annotation Feature

2011-01-03 Thread Reto Hotz
Hi,

We've upgraded our XWiki to 2.7 (from 2.1.1). Looks good, congrats for
all the work!
Though we have discovered one umlaut/encoding issue with Annotations:
The Annocation features breaks the page rendering when there are umlauts
(like the german äöü) in the main text.

Example:
1. The wiki page looks like this:

   Frühling.
   Sommer.

2. Now I add an annotation to the Sommer. (Doesn't matter what text)
3. When enabling annotations an the page, it is rendered like this:

   Fr.
   Sommer.

4. When disabling Annotations (and refreshing the page), everything
looks good.

I can reproduce this with a clean default war/xar installation on:
- Tomcat 6.0.29 on Windows XP with IE 8 and Firefox 3.6. Database is MySQL.
- Glassfish 2.1.1 on Windows XP with IE 8 and Firefox 3.6. Database is
Firebird 2.1.3.

Interestingly it works on the Jetty/HSQLDB standalone installation.

Does anybody else also experience this problem?

 I don't know if this is from importance but we use a fully customized

 Any help or hint is very much appreciated.

 It works OK with the default installation and the default skins, so it
 could be either a wrong migration (some files were not updated), or
 something wrong in the custom skin.

 - Is the link to the JS file present in the HTML source? Should be
 something like /xwiki/bin/skin/resources/js/xwiki/widgets/jumpToPage.js
 - Are there errors in the Javascript error console?
 - Does the dialog appear if you press the key shortcut (Ctrl+G) instead
 of looking for the link in the panel?

 So the solution is to also update it in the default distribution, right?

 It seems that cglib-2.2 uses asm-3.1, while Hibernate still uses
 asm-1.5.3, and I don't know if those two are compatible. Are you sure
 the wiki runs without any problems? Can you also try replacing the
 asm-1.5.3.jar file with this one:
 http://repo2.maven.org/maven2/asm/asm/3.1/asm-3.1.jar

I have now also updated asm 1.5.3 to asm-3.1 and everything seems to
work fine. No strange behaviors, no exceptions in the log.

So for me, yes the solution would be to update cglib (and probably also
asm) to the newer version in the default distribution.

[xwiki-users] Page rights

2009-08-28 Thread Reto Hotz
Hi,

We have configured the access rights to prevent unregistered users from
viewing pages, regardless of the page or space rights. (checked in Wiki
Administration -- Rights)

But unfortunately for one single page we would like to make the page
public. (Viewable without login in).

Is there a way to overforce the default configuration for this page?

We are using XWiki 1.8.3.

Hi Vincent,

Ah, now I see it.

I have checked the Prevent unregistered users from viewing pages,
regardless of the page or space rights option.
And this rule cannot be overwritten by a page, as my tests did show me.

But now, I unchecked the option and configured the wiki rights to forbid
view rights for unregistered users and overwrite it in my page. Then it
works fine.

Thanks.

[xwiki-users] Customize colors of code macro

2009-05-20 Thread Reto Hotz
Hi,

I'd like to customize the colors of the code macro (1.8.3 / xwiki 2.0)

In the code macro documentation
(http://code.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/Macros/CodeMacro20) I see that
there is an cssClass attribute for that purpose.

Unfortunately the available css keywords are not documented.
Firebug also didn't help me, because the color seems to be hard coded in
some way (see example at the end).

Can you provide me with an example of customizing the color of the code
macro?

e.g. my code macro:

{{code language=java}}
public void do() {
   System.out.println(bla);
}
{{/code}}

produces this rendered html:

div class=box code
   span style=font-weight: bold; color: rgb(0, 128, 0);public/span
   span style=color: rgb(176, 0, 64);void/span span style=color:
rgb(0, 0, 255);do/spanspan style=color: rgb(102, 102,
102);()/span span style=color: rgb(102, 102, 102);{/spanbr/
  Systemspan style=color: rgb(102, 102, 102);./spanspan
style=color: rgb(125, 144, 41);out/spanspan style=color: rgb(102,
102, 102);./spanspan style=color: rgb(125, 144,
41);println/spanspan style=color: rgb(102, 102,
102);(/spanspan style=color: rgb(186, 33, 33);bla/spanspan
style=color: rgb(102, 102, 102););/spanbr/span style=color:
rgb(102, 102, 102);}/spanbr/
/div

Thanks a lot.

[xwiki-users] WYSIWYG 2.0 - why rel=__blank

Hi,

I created an external link with the new wysiwyg editor (1.8.3). After

[[linkxwiki:Sandbox.WebHome||rel=__blank]]

But rel=__blank is not defined in the Syntax 2.0 (according to

Shouldn't it be

I understand that target is not a valid xhtml attribute.
But I still don't get it. What has this to do with the generated xwiki
code? Why does the wysiwyg editor not generate the same xwiki code as
described in the Syntax?

Either both should have rel=__blank or both should have target=_blank

Another example: When I use it the other way around:
1. I create the link in xwiki editor (with target=_blank)
2. then I switch to WYSYWIG editor and edit this link -- The WYSIWYG
editor loses the Open link in new window checkbox and I have to check
it again.

 is it not working?

It is working fine. But it's confusing me. :)

[xwiki-users] Lucene and substring search

2008-10-29 Thread Reto Hotz
Hi,

I have noticed that in the Lucene Search substrings are not found.

E.g. The word 'Wallpapers' is on a page.
When I search for 'wallpaper', 0 is found. The same when I search for

When I search for 'wall*' or 'wallpaper*', the page is found. But this
is not very inuitive for the user. The user would never think about
using an asterisk.

Can this behavior be changed?

 Hi,

 AFAIK there's no easy way to retrieve the list of users currently
 logged in.
 You can list the users currently editing pages with (need
 programming rights) :

 8

 #foreach ($user in $xwiki.search(select distinct lock.userName from
 XWikiLock lock))
 * $user
 #end
 8

 I've added it to :
 http://platform.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/DevGuide/velocityHqlExamples

 For example when I have to restart XWiki I could ask these users to

 Thanks.
