[xwiki-users] Annotations not working
I'm running XWiki Enterprise 3.3. Annotations simply do not work (via Ctrl-M). I've tried resaving the Annotations pages (as per http://extensions.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/Extension/Annotations+Application) using an id with programming rights. I've also installed the Admin Tool and used it to check programming rights (Admin.CheckProgrammingRights). Viewing page sources, it appears that annotation styles, code, etc are being included in pages. I've also turned the feature on in preferences. Am I missing something I need to install? Is there logging, etc, somewhere that I can examine? Would it be helpful to (re)install the Annotations Application (http://extensions.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/Extension/Annotations+Application)? Re: [xwiki-users] Problem migrating to filesystem attachments in 3.3
Answering my own question - the comment for the doIt() method is incorrect, saying that it should be run when database attachments are in use and the changes to config for filesystem attachments should be made after running it. If one changes to filesystem attachments first, the script works. Re: [xwiki-users] database / xwiki objects corruption?
Ok. This may not be the first time it happens... My XWiki instance is open on the internet, and it got indexed by web spider - which managed to access URLs like GET /xwiki/bin/save/Thing. So, several things: - I obviously have a permission problem with some pages - I should have used the robots.txt specified there http://platform.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/AdminGuide/Performances (even though it says for performance reasons, and not security reasons) - But *why on earth* would Xwiki let edit resources with GET requests? Isn't it against all REST principles? [xwiki-users] Problem with xwiki rpc: 503 when requesting w3.org DTD on response parsing
I'm attempting to use the Java XML-RPC interface to xwiki, but I'm running into problems. Specifically, when the xml-rpc library attempts to parse the response of the rpc call, it's attempting to request a DTD from w3.org, which returns a 503 status code. W3C is returning the 503 because they are tired of poorly configured client libraries continually requesting largely static DTD documents, as described here: http://www.w3.org/blog/systeam/2008/02/08/w3c_s_excessive_dtd_traffic Everyone's answer to this problem seems to be use XML catalogs, but there is no way that I've found to configure xml catalogs, especially when the underlying xml parser is wrapped in not one, but two, layers of client library (xwiki - apache ws xml rpc). Re: [xwiki-users] Velocity Snipplet for getting the current user group
Syam, When you say currently logged in, I assume you mean the user who is viewing the particular page as opposed to all users who are currently logged in? In any case, it doesn't quite make sense because a user can be a member of multiple groups. You can check if a user is in a particular group using something along the lines of: #if($xwiki.getUser().isUserInGroup(XWiki.DemoGroup)) I suppose it might be possible to do some sort of $hql search to generate a list of all groups and then you could loop through them with an if statement as shown above and then generate a list of groups of which the user is a member. Does that answer your question? Some of the more experienced contributors might be able to give you more advice. The line of code used is $doc.getContentOfSection($item.getSectionNumber()). Is there any way to display the sections without displaying their titles? Also, is there any way to display images which are embedded within a section. Regards, Brian ___ users mailing list users@xwiki.org http://lists.xwiki.org/mailman/listinfo/users

Hi community, I am designing a wiki, which has information about a number of countries. Each country is a page with various pages defining sections, i.e. overview, geography, etc. The user must be able to add sections by just putting in an extra title in a country's page. I want the user to be able to either navigate by country i.e. just go to a country's wiki page. Or to view all overviews, all geography, etc. The problem is that the countries do not all have the same sections. I have attached a dummy object to all country pages so that I can generate a list of countries automatically. I have also written some code that given a section title I can display all the sections from all the countries. Now all I need is to be able to generate a list of all the section titles. If I could make some kind of array I could do this easily. I would just loop through all countries and all sections adding the title to my list if it was not already in the list. Is this possible? I did try a very unorthodox approach whereby I would have stored all the individual titles as titles in a separate wiki document but this didn't work because the setSectionTitle method didn't seem to do anything. If anyone can suggest a way to implement my automatically generated list or even a completely different way to implement this I would very much appreciate it Thanks, Brian Brian Burns Technical Author Digital TV Labs Tel: +44 (0)117 915 4018 | E-mail: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] [EMAIL PROTECTED] | Add: Venturers House, Kings Street, Bristol, BS1 4PB, United Kingdom | Web: http://www.digitaltv-labs.com www.digitaltv-labs.com Digital TV Labs is a limited company registered in England and Wales | Registered number 05556060 | Registered office: University Gate East, Park Row, Bristol, BS1 5UB, United Kingdom| VAT no: 869505581 ___ users mailing list users@xwiki.org http://lists.xwiki.org/mailman/listinfo/users
[xwiki-users] Import Data
Hi guys, I'm trying to write some script in Velocity that will automatically add section headings and a table of contents to a form. I want the user to be able to upload a list of section headings and the prettyName of the first field. I will then add an if statement in the standard loop through the properties so that in pseudo code: if(prop.prettyName == firstfieldprettyname) then {Print Heading}. I am wondering if anyone has any elegant solutions to allowing administrators to upload the section headings and corresponding first properties. I don't understand how I would be able to reference the uploaded data from within the velocity script. I am a new to Xwiki and velocity so please be patient with me if the above didn't make much sense or wasn't clear enough. Many thanks in advance for your help, Brian ___ users mailing list users@xwiki.org http://lists.xwiki.org/mailman/listinfo/users
