in some way in words, but I don’t recall exactly what it says.

The little town in Maine where ACWM is said to be located is of about 1000
people with a per household medium income of about $21000. This is about
one-half of the national medium income. In other words, it appear to be a less
than well-educated population. Consider the sources. People from these towns
are opposed to many different things. In my own home-town many of the residents
do not understand where their own social security income comes from -- it just
appears in their bank account by magic. They believe that social security

You can scan through their posts here and hopefully you may find a clue:

They do have their own Facebook page:

Their Facebook page has very little visits and most posts come from

Ok, let's get the record straight here! I've used pressure cookers a lot and
they have safety values, but they only allow the pressure to release fast
enough to avoid normal overheating. An aunt of mine actually had her pressure
valve blow and it plastered the ceiling above the stove with the food contents
inside.

However, a bomb going off is certainly not going to be abated by a pressure

Pressure cookers should have safety devices to prevent them from exploding.
Although we do not have a pressure cooker at home, I remember that my mother's
pressure cooker had a rubber stopper that would dislodge should the pressure
rise too much.

On reading the account, it occurred to me that the pressure cooker used in the
explosion could have been bought in country that did not demand safety valves
on their devices. (I assume that in the US it would be illegal to sell
pressure cookers without safety valves).

Quick View of Don Jordan:

1. Honor the Teacher - Reach out to All students
2. If it Benefits the Student then Let`s do it
3. College Tuition: Find a long-term solution to tuition increases in South
Carolina.
4. Education belongs in the hands of our parents, local officials, local
educational agencies and states.

Common Core Compromise: We need to work with the state advocates and developers
of Common Core to make sure the original good intent is not lost.

Tuition cost in higher education must stop increasing!

One of the best investments we can make in a child's life is high-quality early
education.
Education belongs in the hands of our parents, local officials, local
educational agencies and states. How can teachers hold all children to the same
standard when they are not all the same? One of the most distressing
characteristics of education reformers is that they are hype-focused on how
students perform, but they ignore how students learn.

We desire to honor the teachers, reach out to all students, review the
standards, with teachers in charge, review testing methods of students, reach
out to poorer areas of South Carolina and motivate students, showing them
they have every opportunity to be as successful as they desire to be. We will
make an effort to visit every school district in South Carolina in the first
year of office. Our commitment is to the teachers and to working with the
legislature and Governor`s Office to make responsible changes that can work.

sites would work while the new one was being created by a team that was hired
by the University to help with the transition away from the old “lamar”
computer that was retired at the end of last week. There is no forwarding of
that URL, so users need to give up there.

Thanks to those who are letting me know that things are not working. I wrote
about this in the last Metric Today, and the next issue will have even more
information.

If anyone wants to let me know about broken links etc. one the new site., I’m
going to meet with the transition team this week to iron out any remaining
problems. Then it will be up to me again to make future changes.

Our site metric.org seems to be down. I hope it goes back up soon. P.S. I am
using Google Chrome as web browser.

[USMA 323] FW: Mailman list changes in ONE WEEK

2016-09-21 Thread Hillger,Donald
Changes coming next week to the listserver, on 28 September!

-Original Message-
From: Jo Zwack [mailto:jzw...@colostate.edu]
Sent: Wednesday, 21 September, 2016 13:48
To: Hillger,Donald <don.hill...@colostate.edu>
Subject: Mailman list changes in ONE WEEK

This email is to remind you as a list owner that one week from today we will be
making a minor change to Mailman. Beginning September 28th, at 9 AM, list
addresses will be in the format listn...@lists.colostate.edu instead of the
current listn...@colostate.edu.

THIS WILL AFFECT ALL CURRENT AND FUTURE LISTS.

At 9 AM, there will be a brief Mailman outage where any messages sent to a list
will be held until the outage is over. While this is not expected to take long,
we highly recommend delaying sending out list messages until at least 10 AM, as
the service may be temporarily unpredictable.

The ultimate reason we are making this change is to help ACNS simplify the
management of the University mailing lists. This will also help to better
assure that emails are received by all list members and are not dropped.
Messages sent from a mailing list will be more easily identifiable, since
"lists" will be explicitly in the address.

What to Expect:

Starting September 28th, any email sent to the original list addresses will be
returned as non-deliverable. Users will receive an automated email informing
them of the change and to resend to the proper "lists.colostate.edu".

And We Need Your Help:

We are asking list owners to inform their subscribers of this change; assuming
they are lists where end users are able to send messages to the entire group.
If it is a restricted list where only several individuals are able to send, it
is up to the list owner to decide if sharing this information is valuable.

We will send one more reminder next Tuesday, the 27th, of this change. Any
questions can be sent to joanna.zw...@colostate.edu. We are looking forward to
having our email systems working more efficiently!
