Vern:

Your email is enough for now. I'm trying to set up some sort of North
American agency for Evo-Tec so we can access their stuff.

Will keep you posted.

Re: Stock air box mods

2000-11-04 Thread Steve Morris, SMS

You can find Geoff Rogers' site and Ian's wheels etc in the UK VMax Club
"Adverts" section (about half way down the 'For Sale' link).. I don't think
its the same product as etd's, but I can't be certain though... my eyesight
went AWOL after I pressed the wrong option 'by mistake'. :)

 Mario,
Yes .. that is true ... what do they say ?? Great minds think alike or
something like that there is a link off the same page for wheels
I may be wrong but I think this is the guy who does the
airblaster stuff for Evo-Tec. We have one person locally that runs one
of his top scoop air covers all the time .. the small ones look kind
of neat. Of course if you dumped the stock instrument cluster you
could do a really nice one. The Evo-Tec is the first one I have seen
where they actualy lined and ducted the scoop They amaze me
.. they have a oil pan spacer .. and some other really unique products
 ..

neat stuff besides the tail piece"),
 http://www.basler-etd.de/English/evo-tec-design.htm. Or some of the
GFK fiberglass lids directly . at

Re: Stock air box mods

2000-11-03 Thread steven detamore

   Steve M,
yes, i have it up and running on my bike.
when i took the activation mechanism for the v-boost out i
also tool all the circuitry out of the left scoop and relocated them. also
took the baffles out of the front of the scoops on both sides. there are
reinforcement webs in the inside of the scoops, i cut them out.
next i raised the back end of the faux tank so that i could
have all my filters at the same height(1.5" spacers all around on v-stacks)
this left an open cressent of area at the back of the tank, what i did was
close this with sheet metal, line the inside of the scoops for smoother flow
and build a new very large airbox that is sealed all around except for the
inlets from the scoops.
the whole deal gives me atleast twice the volume of the stock
box AND direct pressurization, the faster i go the higher the pressure
inside the box.
this WILL give you jetting fits for awhile, but with
persistence you can whip it.
oh yes, those of you who have been in on my former projects,
i appoligize for not disclosing this earlier but i got alittle gun shy after
the initial rsistance to my v-stack/ filter configuration.
   i got over itsteve

If some of you guys are interested, I'm discussing with Evo-Tec methods for

Some indication of wide spread interest would help.
