Re: [vchkpw] vchkpw auth trouble 5.3 and above

2004-01-19 Thread Trey Nolen
We had similar problems and went back to 5.2. For us, pop3 auth would work
for a few hours and then quit. We do not have a softlimit in our script.

Trey Nolen

Hi

I had the same problem and it was solved increasing softlimit parameter in
/service/qmail-popup/run script.

Saludos.

I try to upgrand to last 5.4 versione but trouble still exist... can you

Before anyone starts updating it, please wait for the 5.4.0-rc2 release
which should be later today. SourceForge's developer CVS server has
been down (scheduled) since yesterday, otherwise the release would have
been ready today.

It should be easy to update the patch so it applies to the new version.

[vchkpw] Vpopmail 5.4.0 Release Candidate 2 released

2004-01-19 Thread Tom Collins
http://vpopmail.sf.net/

We are getting closer to a stable release, and we need everyone's help
in testing this release.

Even if you don't want to run it, at least try downloading, configuring
and compiling it on your system. We've been making changes to the
build-related files, and need feedback on any problems that might still
exist. Take a look at the documentation, and feel free to offer any
suggestions for improvement (or better yet, post patches with your
changes to SourceForge).

As you can see in the ChangeLog, we've been fixing a lot of small bugs
and improving the documentation. Please post any bug reports to
SourceForge http://vpopmail.sf.net/.

Michael Bowe
- Added some basic 5.4 upgrade notes to the UGPRADE file
- Fix typo's in configure.in that relate to the errors generated
when a discontinued configure option is used

in the auth backend, but does not yet have a user dir
  allocated. [873007]
- Fix bug introduced in vpopmail-5.4.0-pre2 that was preventing
  ~vpopmail/etc/vpopmail.mysql from being installed [874776]
- vpopbull was failing to create userdirs in some cases
(when the user exists in the auth backend, but did not have
  a dir allocated yet) [816942]
- clearopensmtp was using USE_MYSQL rather than USE_SQL to
determine where the roaming IPs were being stored [876016]

does not need to be gid 89. [877154]
- Update README.pgsql to include security warning regarding
  the postgres username/password [879124]

Yep, it will be added permanently.
Two questions:

1) Does this patch effect custom .qmail-default files? Or any other .qmail
or .mailfilter files?

2) I saw on a previous post that spam filtering can be disabled for a
specific user, but what about for an entire domain?

[vchkpw] Strange question about open-smtp

2004-01-19 Thread Andrea Riela
Hi folks,

Probably is a strange question, but for administration I would see all Ip's
that use and have used the smtp relay. It's possible to log the open-smtp
changes, and all Ip's that probably have used the roaming?

Thanks for all
Regards
Andrea

[vchkpw] enable-file-sync

2004-01-19 Thread Jeff Koch
Could someone please explain the purpose of the following configure option
in vpopmail:

--enable-file-sync Enable file sync after each message is delivered

We're having file system corruption problems with qmail/vpopmail (IDE hard
disk, ext3 file system) and are wondering if this might help. Is there a
downside to using this option?

Best Regards,

Jeff Koch
