RE: .qmail files -- format change?

Hi,

it should be enough to put the following according to your data into the
.qmail file

/path/to/vpopmail/domains/yourdomain/user/Maildir/

Subject: .qmail files -- format change?

Ok...

I just moved some .qmail files from a qmail-only machine and I get this
when I send messages to [EMAIL PROTECTED] now (note the domain
mail.domain.net is pulled from the /var/qmail/control/me file, instead

of using the virtualdomain.net domain):

[EMAIL PROTECTED]
Sorry, no mailbox here by that name. (#5.1.1)

When I put the username (or ./Maildir/) it uses the domain in
/var/qmail/control/me, instead of the virtualdomain. I also went so
far as to put this in the .qmail file (it didn't work either):
/home/vpopmail/domains/virtualdomain.net/username/Maildir/. I get the
following errors from this:

[EMAIL PROTECTED]
Sorry, no mailbox here by that name. (#5.1.1)

[EMAIL PROTECTED]
net
Sorry, no mailbox here by that name. (#5.1.1)

Here's what my .qmail file needs to do:

| /home/vpopmail/perl/someprogram
./Maildir/

If I put [EMAIL PROTECTED] in the .qmail file, I suspect this will
cause a mail loop.

How can I make vpopmail execute the program AND deliver to the mailbox:
[EMAIL PROTECTED]?

Frightfully confused,

David Gartner

qmailloganalyzer

2001-02-08 Thread Jürgen Hoffmann

Hi all,

I know this might not be the right list, but since I am using multilog with
qmail + vpopmail and I could not find anything that would do good logparsing
I thought that I might be best of writing my own perl script which utilizes
qmailanalog to its full extent.

The Script takes a logfile with tai format converts it to tailocal to
determine the correct date. Afterwards pipes it back through localtai to get
it back back to the taiformat that qmailanalog needs. Then passes it through
matchup and gzips all the files to a directory of your liking for archiving.
Then it uses all these archived logfiles and pipes them through the various
qmailanalog scripts zoverall, senders, etc. and outputs the result to a
webdir of your liking.
It saves the result in static html pages in a hierarchichal structure, so
you get can view your results over the periods of time.

command line options to the script are:
b - basename this is the prefix of the lognames if you don't like qmail set
it different (qmail-mmdd.gz is default)
d - archive directory (defaults to ".")
s - do you want to save the source logs (default is "no")
t - pipe the logs through tailocal before parsing (default is "no")
z - compression (look at the source code (sorry) defaults to standard .gz)
m - path to qmailanalog binary files (defaults to
/usr/local/qmailanalog/bin)
o - outputdirectory (defaults to /var/www/maillog)

You can see an example of the output at http://www.web-4-all.de/maillog

AGAIN This is only for multilog.

Please let me know if this software is useful to you and don't hesitate to
contact me if you have any questions. I will post the script to the qmail
mailing list later on, or maybe one of you guys can do it for me, since I am
really busy at the moment.

I will setup a website also which will be available via
http://qmaillog.byteaction.de by the end of the month.

Planned features include graphs, Column Totals where column totals ought to
be.

Any other feature requests?

Ken feel free to distribute this with vpopmail if you want to.

kind regards

Juergen Hoffmann

P.S. the qmailloganalyzer.css has to be copied to the root directory of your
webserver for it to work. If you do not use it the results will look crabby.

Hi,

thanx. multilog is a program that comes with the daemontools package. You
can download it from http://www.qmail.org
The best way on how to install it iat documented in my life with qmail. If
you use daemontools already (supervise, svc, etc.) then you most likely just
have to edit your logging options.

Re: qmailloganalyzer

2001-02-08 Thread Jürgen Hoffmann

Hi,

make sure that if you are using multilog that you pass the argument -t
This is needed, because the logs timestamps are in tai format (e.g.
@4003829some odd number)
-t makes sure that these numbers are first converted to localtime Format So
the Script can determine the day.
The Script uses the command tailocal. If this is named tai64nlocal on your
machine make a symlink or edit the code.

after the script has determined the date of the logentry it pipes it through
localtai, and converts it to a timestring that is suitable for qmailanalogs
matchup. Besides by after converting it gets passed through matchup right
away and is then packed into a gzipped archive.

And by the way make sure that you submit the -s switch. There is a bug in
the code close to unlink, which won't delete the old logfiles, but wil in
future releases. The -s switch will make sure that the logs stay in place.

After that you should be set.

Hope that helps. Let me know.

first of all, I did make another change to your script.
The script cough out the following error

 sh: localtai: command not found

so I make a change to line 74
 $localtai   = "./localtai";

I ran the script without any arguments.

The system is Redhat Linux 6.2 and the perl version is as below ...

 # perl -v

This is perl, version 5.005_03 built for i386-linux

you could of course use my loganalyzer which is still alpha but gives out
good results. If u pipe your logfiles through tai64nlocal you wil get the
standard date and fractional seconds behind that. Or is that the process id?
I dont really remember. Anyways the usage for tai64local would be:

make more sense to add an ipaddress range to your tcp.smtp file. Or use

Re: vdeldomain + vmysql.h

Hi,

did you use the configure option

--enable-large-site=y|n

This enables one table per domain to be automatically created.

Just grabbed the latest vpopmail (4.9.8) and installed it, with mysql
support. I want to run as a large site (ie one table per domain), is
there
somewhere tos et this at compile time rather than having to keep
converting
 with vconvert -s -l?

Also, something that maybe Im missing or was overlooked, but when a domain
is deleted with vdeldomain, the relevant table for the domain isnt
deleted,
which leads to clutter and confusion as to which domains are 'live' and
which arent, although this could be because I havent compiled vpopmail as
a
 large site, let me know!

Apart from that the release seems pretty stable, I have noticed Seg Faults
and core dumps with vadddomain when -e is used, but nothing really to
report
properly, I'll have to do some more tests with -e before I can complain :)

 Well done Ken, as usual!

Re: addusers.pl

2001-01-22 Thread Jürgen Hoffmann

Hi All,

this is a good point. I will make it possible to add
aliasses and forwards from that file also. This is not working now. so this is
what a user file will have to look like:

username:password-in-plain-text:alias1:alias2:alias3:...:aliasn

All the fields have to be delimeted by a fixed delimiter
though.
Would this be helpful to some other users as
well?

Hi All,

this script was just a quick scratch for a problem one
user posted. I have promised to rewrite it and I will as soon as I have
handled my two major projects here. Maybe I will do it tonight. Since the
here is how it works:

- This script assumes that you have a file called
user.dat in the same directory as the Script.
- Second it assumes that in this file the information
is username:password-in-plain-text
 - if you have a different separator edit line
14 where it says split /:/ to the appropriate delimiter
- 3rd This Script has to be edited on line 16. Where
you have to replace the ~vpopmail with the absolute path to your vpopmail
directory.

I hope this helps.

the future version will have support for submitting
the delimiter, the vpopmail-home-dir-location, and the file-to-import on the
command line.

As I said this will be handy tonight or tomorrow the
latest.

Kind regards

sqwebmail 1.0 Problem

I have a problem with vpopmail+mysql+sqwebmail
Following Setup:
Machine with Webserver and mounted nfs runs the webserver... I hav compiled
sqwebmail on this machine.
The other machine is the mailserver and has vpopmail compiled and exports
the vpopmail homedir to the webserver who mounts it on the exact same
location in his filesystem.
When running sqwebmail I am getting the login page fine but the submission
of username passwort results in an internal server error. Has anyone had the
same problems before?

All software is of the newest release...

vqsignup.conf question

2000-11-02 Thread Jürgen Hoffmann

Hi Ken,

is it really a good approach to enter the full path
to the template files in a World Readable File that has to be in the Webserver
path? Well first it does not have to world readable does it? It will work if it
is only readable by vpopmail right? But the main question is does it really have
to be in the serverpath (cause it could reveal directory structure)? Is it
possible to put in a configure option to define the path to the config file, or
just give a hint in the Install README that one just has to edit line 26 in
main.c (open_config("vqsignup.conf");) to point to the desired location. maybe
~vpopmail/etc ?

just my 2 cents

P.S. I do not want to critisize your great
work.

no no, I mean if there is already a .qmail file for that domain and that

You mean if there's already an alias domain? Easy enough: if there's

 $vpopmailhome/domains/realdomain
