Sqwebmail reads a user maildir directory. No IMAP and no POP. Re: [vchkpw] what webmail
mihamina, others, pop3 based, use their own databases. btw, they (can) keep the inbound mail in the pop3 server. anyway, if you can live with sqwebmail, do it. it is awesome, and, really, no imap/no pop. so, humble advice - if you (can) have the webmail on the same server, use sqwebmail. if you can not (not using your own mail server or other reason) - check if you can use imap. if you don't - use pop3. wwell edi Charles J. [vchkpw] I got mad with the virtual domain, give me a hand.
I installed Qmail + Vpopmail. After add vitual domain with #/home/vpopmail/bin/vadddomain mydomain.com #/home/vpopmail/bin/vadduser [EMAIL PROTECTED] password: ** password: ** Then I test the virtual user with: # telnet localhost 110Trying 127.0.0.1...Connected to localhost.Escape character is '^]'.+OK POP3 www v2001.78rh server readyuser [EMAIL PROTECTED]+OK User name accepted, password pleasepass ***-ERR Bad login I tried to reinstall Qmail and Vpopmail for more than 10 times, and test the virtual domain with every way that I can thought out, but always fail. I checked the qmail log, it shows the virtual user never loged in, as if the qmail or vpopmail do not know the format of [EMAIL PROTECTED], what is the matter? how can i make it work? ps: smtp is fine. Do you already have a qpopper or something running from xinetd ? Regards, Rick

Are you sure you have the correct POP3 daemon listening on 110 port? +OK POP3 www v2001.78rh server ready is what makes me think you're using the POP3 server that comes with the Red Hat distribution.
