[vdr] convert the channels.conf from scantv to the vdr format

2007-07-06 Thread Sebastian Dellit
Hoppa VDR readers,

I'm new at this list. My name is Sebastian, 25 years old and I coms from
Germany.

My first question:

Is there a possibility to convert the result of scantv in to a vdr
supported channels.conf format?

I try the example from vdr-wiki but my vdr means, error by
reading  :-(

I use vdr 1.4.7 on a Debian Lenny/Sid System with e-toby. The channels.conf must
be for the analogtv plugin.

What can I do?

Thanks and

[vdr] softdevice and pass through - don't work

2007-12-03 Thread Sebastian Dellit
Hello VDR readers,

I try to use pass through with softdevice.

When I use the following options I get always the same error after
start a 5.1 file:

# ac3play: sound open: no such file or directory.

I start the vdr with:

-Psoftdevice -vo dummy: -ao
alsa:ac3=iec958:AES0=0x02,AES1=0x82,AES2=0x00,AES3=0x2#

or with the options in the setup.conf:

softdevice.AC3Mode = 1
softdevice.AlsaAC3Device = iec958:AES0=0x02,AES1=0x82,AES2=0x00,AES3=0x2
softdevice.AlsaDevice = default

When I run a 5.1 file with ac3dec all
works fine.

What must I do to get the pass through?

[vdr] vdr with control plugin and osd

2008-01-26 Thread Sebastian Dellit
Hello vdr readers,

I use the VDR with the e-tobi sources. To access the OSD I install the
control-plugin. When I start the vdr manually all works fine, I can
use the OSD e. g. on tty1. When I use the start-stop script from the
installer I can't access the OSD.

The options for the control plugin are correct but the
start-stop-script hide the text OSD on tty1. :-(

Is there are possibility to use the script with the control plugin?

 Are you sure? The control plug-in must be configured to use the same tty
 as VDR.
 See the KEYB_TTY setting in /etc/default/vdr and the -t option in
 /etc/vdr/plugins/plugin.control.conf.

Thanks for this hint. I add the line

KEYB_TTY=/dev/tty1

after the line

OPTIONS=-w 60

I also add a line

-t /dev/tty1

in the plugin config file.

When I start the vdr I geht the following error in the syslog:

Jan 27 14:18:12 media vdr: [4068] max. latency time 1 seconds
Jan 27 14:18:12 media vdr: [4082] clearing device because of consecutive poll
timeouts

bytes dropped)
Jan 27 14:18:26 media vdr: [4083] ERROR: 20564 ring buffer overflows (3866032
bytes dropped)
[...]

I don't hear audio output from the tv or from my screenreader (suse
blinux). When I stop the vdr with

# /etc/init.de/vdr stop

the stop process takes any secconds. When I restart the vdr with

# /etc/init.de/vdr restart

The audio output works fine but I means that an other vdr is loaded.
:-/ The tty1 isn't mapped by the vdr.

Re: [vdr] contact to femon plugin developer

2008-07-06 Thread Sebastian Dellit
Hello Rolf and all readers,

sorry, older mail ...

 I hope my idea is simple. many Any users use a braille display and
 speech to access the vdr. Is it possible to create a femon skin which
 show the information in plain text on the OSD? E. g. the developer of
 the lastfm-plugin has include a function. You can change between
 graphic and text display. If you select the text version all
 informations (title, track etc.) can read with an braille display. The
 plugin also use a function to select the refresh rate of the display.
 If you select 0 you can always refresh the display manual. The
 femon plugin IMHO needs a simular function.

 I'm not familiar with Braille displays, so how does it detect text in
 order to translate it to speech? Femon is drawing text with the same OSD
 methods as the core VDR, so if you can hear VDR's menus, you should be
 able to hear the femon menus also. The default refresh rate is quite
 high, but you can tweak it in plugin's setup menu. So the only problem
 might be the massive amount of infomation shown on current
 configuration.

I have test the femon again.

I'm sorry but I can't read any kind of information. The screen is
blank.

 If I understood you correctly, you'd like to get only essential
 signal/stream information on a simple menu that can be refreshed on
 demand? Now the real question is, what kind of information is essential
 for you?

What kind of information is available?
