Carp. I thought I was  snagged but the line slowly started coming up. The Carp 
was  right up on top, it looked like a submarine coming up. It  just stayed 
there for a few seconds and rolled breaking off  my last Chili Pepper. I tried 
to have it take another fly  with no luck.

 what I thought was a snag, until it started moving.  Moved about ten feet 
along the shore, realized  it was hooked & even  though I was  letting line out 
through my fingers, the 3x tippet snapped
 
 about 6 inches from the leader.
 
 Sounds like a big old
 catfish.
 
 Get some heavy
 tippet on and go back and catch that dood so we know what
 
 it was.
