It is with a very deeply saddened heart that I have to tell you that my good
friend Jimmy passed away yesterday.

I am in Texas now and will be attending his funeral. I will appreciate it if
you could all say a prayer for Jimmy and his wife Jody.

When I get more info I will pass it on.

That is terrible news. I was just asking around about him a week or two ago as
He hasn’t posted in quite a while.I know he’d been having health problems for
quite some time. Jimmy was one of the many “old timers” on VFB who taught me to
fly fish and fly tie yrs ago. Without these ppl I’d have gotten to depressed
about not “getting it right” I’d have hung up my vise yrs ago as there is no
trout etc around here, thus very few fly fishermen in the area to learn from
“in person” so between ppl like Jimmy D., videos, and books that’s how I
learned to tie and cast.

Speaking of David Murphy, I didn’t know him well as he passed away right after
the first Sow Bug at the tender age of 50 I think. I also thing Murph is the
one that about 15 of us got together and tied Chili peppers, put them in a
memorial shadow box and sent one to Murphs wife and kids etc. I think we should
do the same for Jimmy D’s family as well. If somebody van come up with the
pattern, I’d be glad to meister such a swap unless somebody else would rather
do that.

Anyway, let me know if you’d even be interested or not and I’ll go Saturday to
my local Hobby Lobby and price the shadw boxes, postage etc ect and come up
with a total price. I see this 8” by 10” sized one that could hole up to about
20 flies or less for only $8.99 each, which mens that

As best I can tell I'm the only present VFB member who remembers Fly

Alan,
I'm sorry to hear that Jimmy has passed. I still have my personally
autographed book from him "Moon Holler Misfits" He always had a great sense
of humor. I think of him a lot, being here in New Mexico. As I remember he
was very fond of the Boy Scout Camp here. I often wonder what happened to
his long horns? Maybe you can fill us in Alan when you get back home, Was
his favorite Diego or something like that? Give our best regards to Jody
and let her know that we are thinking of her.

Re: [VFB] Jimmy D. Moore

2019-09-26 Thread Michael Bliss
I have missed JimmyD on the group. He was a very fun contributor here as
we started on this journey from flyfish@ many years ago. He and I shared a
love for Philmont. He also was involved with antique golf clubs. I had
some from my dad and he helped me get a valuation on them. Just a nice
person.Like Murph I am sure he is in good hands now and no more pain.
Prayers will go out to his family. It is sad to have another of our group
pass on.
