SOW BUG ALUMNI SWAP - Rules and Regulations - Last call.

To participate in this swap, you must have attended at least
one SOW BUG Convention at Mountain Home, Arkansas. In my
recollection, we have upwards of 35 fly tyers total from
the VFB, FFW, and HCFF fly tying/fishing email lists that
have attended at least one Sow bug.

I'd imagine we'll have around 15 tyers participating, so that'd
mean we'd need to tie 14 flies for me, the Swap meister to
sort and send 15 different flies to the participants. I'd like
to have a due date of flies to me of December 15, with the sign
up deadline of This Wednesday, Oct. 20. Your fly should be one of the
patterns you've tied at Sow Bug.

BEFORE I FORGET, I'M ALSO ASKING EACH OF US TO TIE A SPECIAL
FLY FOR TONY SPEZIO, THE FATHER OF THE SOW BUG. YOU AND I
WILL DO SOMETHING SPECIAL WITH THESE FLIES

NO ONE PERSON CONNECTED WITH FLY FISHING/TYING HAS MEANT
MORE THAN TONY SPEZIO IN MY FLY FISHING/TYING EDUCATION. I
ALSO COUNT IT AS ONE OF LIFE'S GREAT PLEASURES, TO CALL TONY
SPEZIO MY FRIEND.

Im decided some weeks ago to refuse from swaps for a while.
Too much workload, and family duties.
But with this theme of a swap Well, I'm in.
Don't know yet, what to ty. I was twice at the Sowbug, and I tied:
My parachute beetle
A ptn nymph, using wire as thread (The original ty of Sawyer)
A wasp
Some demo of plushille, replacing spun hair.

The last one is hard for the swap, due to material availability
Maybe the beetle or the nymph. I let you know.

  recollection, we have upwards of 35 fly tyers total from
  the VFB, FFW, and HCFF fly tying/fishing email lists that
  have attended at least one Sow bug.
 
  I'd imagine we'll have around 25 tyers participating, so that'd
  mean we'd need to tie 24 flies for me, the Swap meister to
  sort and send 24 different flies to the participants. I'd like
  to have a due date of flies to me of December 15, with the sign
  up deadline of November first.
 
  BEFORE I FORGET, I'M ALSO ASKING EACH OF US TO TIE A SPECIAL
  FLY FOR TONY SPEZIO, THE FATHER OF THE SOW BUG. YOU AND I
  WILL DO SOMETHING SPECIAL WITH THESE FLIES
 
  NO ONE PERSON CONNECTED WITH FLY FISHING/TYING HAS MEANT
  MORE THAN TONY SPEZIO IN MY FLY FISHING/TYING EDUCATION. I
  ALSO COUNT IT AS ONE OF LIFE'S GREAT PLEASURES, TO CALL TONY
  SPEZIO MY FRIEND.

  I tried to come up with a way to keep this a secret from Tony,

I think that is the most fun tying flies I have had since I started. I
mainly tie for myself, but I have always volunteered for tying demos for
local Trout Unlimited stuff like at our booth at local sporting shows, or
like the annual kids heritage fishing day where they want a few of us to
teach kids about fly fishing and fly tying.

The Sowbug was a new experience for me though and I can't wait until next
year.
